Avatar f tn What should i expect with this diagnosis? I have terrible neck pain and headaches and numbness on left side of body. I also have chiari malformation, ibs (surgery), asthma (pneumonia x1), and sinusitis (prior surgery). Should i see a rheumatologist?
5536514 tn?1373500002 I am 65 and I am afraid my bones are falling apart. I have osteoarthritis. I also experience bone cracking in my neck. The same for my knees. I can almost tell when it's going to rain. The back pain starts as soon as I get up in the morning. After I have taken a muscle relaxer it is still there but only slightly. I do not want to become dependent on pill. I have hepc and cirrosis of the liver. Can you shed a little light on my problem.
11446628 tn?1418298480 I also have pain in my knee and hands, and my fingers are twisting and have knots. My right knee has had pain and swelling for weeks, and this morning it's too painful to walk. I haven't injured it. Recent blood test didn't report rheumatoid arthritis. So what's going on with my knee, and with my hands?
Avatar n tn I have cervical spondylosis, osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease and I'm in extreme pain in my neck and shoulder blades.. should i see a chiropractor?
Avatar f tn Recently I did a two month round of PT which really helped to loosen up the neck. I also see a chiropractor and a neurologist. The neurologist has me on Effexor and Nortriptyline. All of this has helped some but not completely. My neck is still stiff (not nearly as bad) and the jaw still gives me a heck of a time.
Avatar n tn My daughter's neck crackles and pops and the Dr. told her it's bone on bone and to stop popping it on purpose. MSM might help some.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your interest....at least I am functioning and can work. Pain in left side of neck and up into base of head is starting to get bad again. I may see if I can get some accupuncture again to tide me over. Everytime I looked at the 'ask a doctor' section of this web site, it always says no more questions. I wonder if they have just stopped using that portion......oh well.
Avatar f tn He has had to go to the ER a few times and x-rays were normal. He went to the dr. yesterday and she gave him Flexeril and Ultram but they don't seem to help the pain. Tonight I put hot, wet washrags (making them hotter slowly) and after waiting about 15 minutes, rubbed ben-gay on his neck and shoulder muscles. He says 'if I could just crack my neck, I think it would feel allot better'. Any other suggestions about what I can do to help him?
Avatar m tn I feel things have been getting better but slowly. Recently, I went to a sports medicine hand doctor and he had said I have osteoarthritis. I reviewed the radiologist notes on the xrays taken and he couldnt find an signs of arthritis. I am concerned that the Dr.'s diagnosis is wrong given that pain started in both thumbs on exactly the same day. Shouldn't the pain have started first in my dominant hand? How can a Dr. make a osteoarthritis diagnosis without evidence on xrays?
Avatar n tn The acromioclavicular (AC) joint in the shoulder is a common spot for osteoarthritis to develop in middle age. Degeneration of the AC joint can be painful and can cause difficulty using the shoulder for everyday activities. I also believe that your Knee can be affected in the same way. Arthroscopic Distal Clavicle Excision VideoSome joints in the body are more likely to develop problems from normal wear and tear. Degeneration causes the cartilage that cushions the joint to wear out.
Avatar n tn (( I have inflammation and searced google for ANTI INFLAMMATORY DIET and FOODS. Saw that there are a lot of foods that are considered proflammatory. It changed my way of eating. After reading all the foods that are proflammatory that I always thought were good for you, I wished I knew about it so many years ago. You know the saying: "You are what you eat?" Let me know what you find. I could use more choices of foods to eat.

Avatar m tn i have been having upper back and neck pain along with numbness in fingers and toes.
Avatar f tn Thank you
Avatar m tn terribly annoying.....I have it in my neck and knee and hip..
Avatar f tn Hi, Your symptoms may be due to cervical spondylosis Cervical spondylosis is caused by degenerative changes in the bones and intervertebral disks of the neck. A less technical name for this condition is osteoarthritis of the neck, or degenerative disk disease of the neck.. The most common symptom is stiff neck which is most often one of the very first signs. Neck stiffness tends to grow progressively worse over time.
408795 tn?1324935675 I have extensive Osteoarthritis in my upper back and neck from an accident I was in over 20yrs ago. I had an accident and I broke my right leg and my left arm. As a result my right leg is slightly bowed and therefore around a half inch shorter than my left leg. As a result it has affected my back and neck. Lately my legs have been swelling and itching, mostly the left. I certainly feel it's all related to my right leg injury.
Avatar n tn I hurt all the time in just about every muscle , hips, legs, back, neck , shoulders, could this be muscle atrophy, or is it coming from the osteoarthritis that i have.
Avatar f tn I had an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion of C4-C7 done on 2/17/09. Within two hours of the surgery, my neck, shoulder, arm pain and numbness was completely gone! I have some shoulder tenderness from being positioned on the O.R table in a hyperextension of my neck, but am taking a muscle relaxant with good relief. Amazingly, I did not experience any problems with hoarseness of my voice or difficulty swallowing.
