Avatar f tn I've had mri's of my spine and shows osteoarthritis with bone spurs in cervical thoracic and lumbar. This was done in 2007 (i was 35), now i have this horrible tendonitis in both wrists and i'm on prednisone. Could this be related to the arthritis? i'm seeing an ortho but he doesn't know about the osteoarthritis (i was just rereading my reports and it jumped out at me). What should i expect with this diagnosis?

Avatar n tn A generalized muscle tenderness and aches would go more in favor of fibromyalgia. However, in your case the pain in only in arms and legs. Fibromyalgia cannot be ruled out. You must however look for causes of peripheral neuropathy like those associated with diabetes, hypothyroidism, chronic involvement of liver or kidney, chronic alcohol use. Vascular pathologies like atherosclerosis, deep vein thrombosis too should be ruled out.

Avatar n tn Unexplained aches and pains coming on and off could be due to fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Crohn’s disease, H pylori infection, anemia, liver disorders, diabetes, hypothyroidism, Vit B12 or Vit D deficiency and due to calcium or magnesium deficiency. It can also be due to sleep related disorders.

Avatar m tn There are many types of arthritis, including rheumatoid and other types of inflammatory arthritis, osteoarthritis, infectious arthritis, and arthritis due to gout or pseudogout. Other causes of joint pain include autoimmune and vasculitic disorders (for example, systemic lupus erythematosus, polymyalgia rheumatica, and polyarteritis nodosa), avascular necrosis of bone, and injuries.
Avatar f tn If your neurologist is unable to give you any answers, you may want to schedule an appointment with a rheumatologist who can rule out an autoimmune disease and fibromyalgia. I would also recommend getting tested for lyme disease.

Avatar m tn every medicine I had been put on has been problems and I have been taken off all for Fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, and arthritis. Now, my right eye is getting fuzzy, not every day, but more days all the time. My doctor has said although I need back surgery, be careful doing that because it will possibly make your fibromyalgia worse. Will I ever be able to try medicines again? I have an allergy from them...swollen tongue and throat type but, can that ever change???/ Thanks.
1100837 tn?1267668675 Hello Leila006, It is not uncommon to have overlapping conditions such as RA and Fibromyalgia. I have Osteoarthritis of the spine, nerve damage and Fibromyalgia, which is different than what you are suffering from, but I have known a lot of people who have had both problems together. I am just guessing from what you have written, that the Lyrica has made you very drowsy...right?
Avatar f tn Thanks for your response. I have yet to be diagnosed and I have tingling, numbness and pis/needles. I wasn't sure if that as common for fibromyalgia or not. And, it drives me crazy too! I can barely stand to sit at the computer anymore because of it!
387767 tn?1345872027 Over the years I have had some aches and pains, but in the past 3 years it has gotten to where it is very painful. I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia, but none of the typical drugs for that are helping me. I am in pain every day and I also have a lot of swelling, which no doctor, not even the rheumatologist, can seem to tell me why. I tested negative for RA, Lupus and Lyme. My question is: Could this all be from the hypothyroidism? Should I find another endo?
Avatar f tn I had a look at the symptoms for fibromyalgia and have to say just about the whole lot explained my problems. Now need to see a doctor and hope they see the same thing I did.
1603632 tn?1297740540 Hi Babes, I suffer from a condition called Fibromyalgia which was caused through a car crash and the shock through my body from the impact. Pain travels through the body in different places, some days like you said it can be in right elbow then day after in the left. This condition is extremely painful and can be disabling, unfortunately it is for me, and the pain is throughout my body but different day by day.
