Avatar f tn You did not have the CT scan of your chest, and people with MG could have thyoma (cancer of the thymus) and I might need to have a thyectomy!" I told her a CT scan gives the equivalent of 220 X-rays all at once, and I have had over 97 seperate X-rays in the past few years already! And now a hematologist is telling me I might have cancer of my bone marrow! I told her I have tremendous pain and weakness in both knees when I try to get out of the bathtub.
1320130 tn?1296053588 It especially hurts if I have been inactive for more than 15 minutes. My doctor did a bone scan and results were good for no cancer, but is this really arthritis?I did not have it before the chemotherapy.
20846676 tn?1533691015 The fatigue would not leave me for anything so I go see a rheumatologist that told me I have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. I take my meds on time all the time but still the same thing with the fatigue, then I had done some fasting appointments with my primary and was told I am vitamin D deficient and for the rest of my life I would have to take 2000 units of vitamin D every day which I have been doing thus far.
Avatar f tn I've had mri's of my spine and shows osteoarthritis with bone spurs in cervical thoracic and lumbar. This was done in 2007 (i was 35), now i have this horrible tendonitis in both wrists and i'm on prednisone. Could this be related to the arthritis? i'm seeing an ortho but he doesn't know about the osteoarthritis (i was just rereading my reports and it jumped out at me). What should i expect with this diagnosis?
Avatar f tn I have Osteoarthritis and it is getting worse. I taken Celebrex, Norco, Tramadol and Vicopren. None of these are working. I don't have insurance and go to a public health clinic. They don't seem to know what to do. Could you please advise me on what I can take that will help with the chronic pain and will be inexpensive.
529224 tn?1400648219 The other knee was about to be replaced in 2012 and an emergency came in and my OP was postponed.I took up hill walking, despite it hurt, aquafit twice a week and swimming lengths (not breaststroke!) - which my consultant had suggested before first knee OP, and my knee (despite being in a worse arthritic state than the first knee before OP!) improved - I don't have pain, or instability anymore!
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
Avatar n tn t tried it myself yet, only because I HATE taking pills, but have heard a few success stories about Glucosamine and Chondroitin. Another thing you can do is start physical therapy. Strengthening the muscles and tendons around the joints helps to slow the degenerative changes.
Avatar m tn I have osteoarthritis in my neck moderate and mild in lower back. Can and adjusment help? will they even do an adjustment me? i seem to be losing sensativity in my legs but dont know if iy du to oa in back nad neck.any help would be great. thank you.
Avatar m tn t expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.
Avatar n tn I am afraid that I have developed osteoarthritis in my hands, esp. in the thumb joint. I experience pain up to 5 on 1/10 scale, but not swelling. After I ride my bike my hands hurt for several days, maybe the handlebar is too big around. The symptoms developed shortly after I broke my wrist (Collies fracture) two years ago. I realize that if I have this problem it isn't going away. How do I keep the damage to a miminim? I use Ibuprofen for pain with fair results.
Avatar m tn i was also wondering about the osteoarthritis as my dr told me that i have severe degenerative osteoarthritis of the lower spine (I forgot the numbers), hips, left shoulder and both feet. I had major surgery last summer and mesh was used to attach part of my bowel to my spine. My dr figures that this may have jump-started the arthritis issues. Currently i have probs walking, bending and overall it hurts to be on my feet for more than 20 mins at a time.
Avatar f tn Does osteoarthritis generally cause an elevated Sed Rate and and elevated C-Reactive Protein? Anyone have these tests elevated with your condition? Thanks!
Tbd I was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago, had partial mastectomy last May, on oral chemo with calcium and Vit D supplements. I already had osteoarthritis and am at the age for bone density loss. Oncologist recommended Prolia shot to combat bone density loss but insurance has denied due to not medically necessary. Also denied bone scan to check loss after treatment start and MRI to monitor pre cancer nodes remaining.
Avatar f tn An edema is a buildup of fluid. A bone marrow edema — often referred to as bone marrow lesion — occurs when fluid builds up in the bone marrow. Bone marrow edema is typically a response to an injury such as a fracture or conditions such as osteoarthritis. Bone marrow edema usually resolves itself with rest and physical therapy. Osteitis pubis is a condition in which there’s inflammation where the right and left pubic bones meet at the lower front part of the pelvis.
Avatar f tn Hi,thanks in advance for any responses...much appreciated and my drs. do not know. I've been menopausal since Nov.2011(my last period) and I've been diag.hypothyr.about 3-5 yrs. I'm currently on estrogen patch+progesterone+150 mcg synthroid. Wondering if anyone has had experience with hip (actually where the leg and hip meet)pain that disturbs their sleep? Also on another note wondering the best labs to target any such problems, whether hormone or thyroid related.
Avatar m tn The osteoarthritis may progress slowly over time. Strengthening the muscles that support the neck and cervical spine may lesson symptoms of pain and discomfort. ~•~ Dr. Parks This answer is not intended as and does not substitute for medical advice. Avatar n tn Had breast cancer 15 years ago and I am wondering how breast cancer mets are found? This discussion is related to Breast Cancer to Bone Mets to Liver Mets to Brain Mets.
Avatar f tn My 39 year old nephew just passed from pancreatic cancer, my 64 year old brother was just diagnosed with prostate cancer, my niece had thyroid cancer, a cousin had testicular cancer, a cousin's daughter had brain cancer & another cousin's grandson had brain cancer. All in the past 15 years. Any input would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn X-Rays followed shortly after and confirmed osteoarthritis and bone spurs but obvious evidence of metastic cancer. TRUS needle biopsy with 7 cores produced the Gleason Score of 9. More blood tests and an abdominal CAT Scan was ordered last friday(still waiting on results of that). My urologist has said I have cancer but is not very forthcoming on details just yet. What's going on?
Avatar f tn HAS anyone ever tried either of those for Osteoarthritis which is what I have in my knees and feet? if so please give me all the suggestions. I need to take something NON NARCOTIC and Ibuprophen isn't cutting it...nor is the Calcium, Magnesium Zinc combo Ive been on for 3 months now???? HELP!!!????

1266954 tn?1270217525 For the past years, I have been taking 3-4 7.5/325 Vicodin per day for "total body osteoarthritis". I have tried NSAIDS, aspirin, and Ultram without any relief. Also, because of a previous HA, I want to avoid NSAIDS. When Vicodin was changed from Schedule III to II this year, my GP became more reluctant to continue my 3-4 pill per day "habit" due to regulatory pressure to wean patients completely off opiods of any strength.
