I went to the gyno yesterday and was given Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo to help regulate my periods. I have not had a period since March 2008. My doc told me to begin my first month of pills on the Sunday following the beginning of my next period. Problem is, i don't have any idea when that could be. Does anyone know if it would be harmful for me to begin taking the pills now and not wait for my next period?
What kind of birth control pill are you on? I have been on both Tri-Spintec (generic Ortho Tri-Cyclen) + Ortho Try-Cyclen Lo, and I know that if you miss 2 or 3 days of the pills, it will give you an early period. Were you taking it consistently before those days that you missed? And did you have sex after those missed pills?
Either way, I think that it is probably because you missed those two pills, but if you want to know for sure go pick up a pregnancy test.

Well because of my insurance I had to switch to Ortho Tri Cyclen this month so i decided to skip the brown placebo pills so i could "skip" my period, but on exactly Day 1 of Ortho Tri Cyclen it made me start my period Full on! I was debating between Ortho Cyclen, Ortho Tri Cyclen or Othro Tri Cyclen Lo.. I am currently on Ortho Cyclen but I was thinking why am I pumping all this hormones into my body each month.
Me and my partner also use condoms as backup.
I am even willing to try other brands if 1 is better?
I guess I just dont under the difference between them all and the effect on your body good/bad.

I have had a hormonal imbalance for 2 years (producing too much androgen) and in that time I had gained quite a bit of weight. I am now taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen and have actually begun to FINALLY start losing weight. My weight loss is not much yet, but I was wondering if taking these birth control pills is actually the reason for my weight loss?
Hey ladies...so ive been on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for 2 months now and i was supposed to get my period on the 26th...it still hasnt come yet ): has anyone had this issue with this pill? i did miss a day on the 22nd, but took it with my next day dose. Then i missed it again on the 24th and took that pill with my next day dose as well...was that wrong? I was on Lo estrin and got pregnant on it after 3 months.
I started taking ortho tri-cyclen birth control pills since august 4, 2013 to help regulate my periods. I started my cycle/bleeding august 14 to 24 which was very odd to me b/c my cycles r 5-6 days long but this time it wasn't and my period came august 14, 2013 but it would usually come At the end of the month or sometimes the beginning or not at all. So since my period came then and lasted that long, does that mean my period is trying to get back on track?
I'm taking Ortho-Tri-Cyclen birth control pills and I am on week 3. I missed two pills in a row on Thursday and Friday (im a Sunday Starter). I realized I missed 2 pills on Saturday and took one on Saturday. I read the instructions for missed pills and threw out the rest of the pack and will start a new one today (Sunday). I had unprotected sex Thursday night (first day of missed pill). I also woke up to heavy bleeding this morning. Could I get pregnant?
Well, i know about 5 people that were on ortho tri cyclen lo and got pregnant and 3 of them were taking it correctly. I was on ortho tri cyclen lo for 7 months this year. I stopped my pills in Oct. and started taking prenatal pills because i ended up pregnant but it was a chemical pregnancy. I would suggest you get a stronger dose bcp if your doctor says its ok..... Im sure that if you talk to your doc.
t want to worry or alarm you, but Ortho Tri-Cyclen *****!!!! I was on that pill for at least 6 months and ennded up getting pregnant. So did 12 other women. Then after I had my son an I had gone back to work an regular customer came in..Thought she had the flu cuz she'd been sick for 2 wks, turns out she was pregnant.

how r u doing today ? yeah i will say yes what u thinking ,that pills definately doesn't suit on u coz these pills hv some heavy and some low pressure ,may be u didn't tolrate heavy one ,so take low pressure pills. i am also taking low pressure pills. coz my doctor suggest me this pills.i can give u the name of my pills . i started these pills from this month again.it is good and not irriteted .
...ive been on ortho tri cyclen for 11 months never missed a pill and never had any problems....untill this month I had bleeding exactly one week before my period it was very light pink only noticable when i wipe it happened for a day and a half.....so i wated for my period and it was 1 day late andnot like it usually is ...its usually very flowing....but its brown /bright red.....and if i use a tampon it only fills a quarter of it so its like im just spotting....
Don't take Plan B when you're already on the pill. You're already protected by being on the pill. The only time you need to worry about talking the bc pill at the same time daily is when you're on the mini pill, which has a much higher failure rate when it's taken later. But being on the ortho tri cyclen the timing isn't important as long as it's not something majorly late. Like 12 hours late would be pushing it but 6 hours is not a big deal.
I have already posted a question, but I'm switching birth control's Friday, and I'm think about going on Ortho Tri-Cyclen because I heard it's almost the best birth control you can find. Any other suggestions??
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo -- got the pill, my clinician approved that this one would help me the most over my past experiences, and I brought it home. Didn't dare start taking it, instead researched reviews of it, and found that people were both suicidal/pregnant while on the pill.
At this point, I just want some kind of birth control pill, nothing else, that can satisfy my needs.

Ok, So im on my second pack of birthcontrol and I missed the three blue pills before Id hit the green pills. On the third day of the missed pill I was spotting which was when I was supposed to start anyway, but it was super light, so I took a pregnancy test, suprisingly it turned out negative. And So later that night my bf came in me, he knew all about everything, the next day I took two pills, & Ive been cramping since ive took those pills, and now Im feeling loss of appetite and nausea.
