Ortho tri cyclen breakthrough bleeding

Common Questions and Answers about Ortho tri cyclen breakthrough bleeding

ortho-tri-cyclen

I just recently started taking a ortho tri-cyclen and I was wondering if starting birth control could cause your period to be delayed?
I am experiencing breakthrough bleeding on ortho tri cyclen, between days 11 and 14 in my BC pack. The doctor syas it happens and it is only annoying but I really would like to not have to endure three or four days of breakthrough bleeding or spotting every month. It is messy and not very pleasant during inter course. What other pill combination would lessen this? I am open to a type and dose that will stop this.
This is my first month on ortho tri cyclen lo. planned parenthood told me that I should get my period when I am taking the green "sugar pills" at the end of the pack, right before I start a new pack of pills. But I am on my period on the last few dark blue pills, before the green pills. I take the pill at the same time every day and I don't skip...is everything ok?
I started taking birth control about a year ago. I was on ortho-tri-cyclen and it wasn't working to get my periods regular, so my doctor switched me to Estrostep about eight months ago and after the first month or so on that, my period became normal again and all has been well. Until this month that is. I was supposed to get my period this coming Wednesday (9/12/07) but I started spotting last Wednesday (9/5/07).
i recently switched from yaz birth control to ortho tri-cyclen lo and on about my 16th day of the new pill i started to bleed pretty heavy.. this is about 2 weeks before i should of gotten my period. and its been about 8 days now, im still bleeding, and it doesnt seem like it's going to stop anytime soon. is this just because i switched pills? and did i get my period early? or is this just breakthrough bleeding?
I recently started taking ortho tri-cyclen. I am on my second pack of pills. Everything seemed normal while taking the first pack. I started the second pack the Sunday after starting my period. I had a full period like always, but ever since (going on 2 weeks now) I have continued to spot. I really don't know if I should just stop taking the pills or continue taking them until this packet is gone. Please advise me on what I should do. Is this normal? should I continue taking them?
...ive been on ortho tri cyclen for 11 months never missed a pill and never had any problems....untill this month I had bleeding exactly one week before my period it was very light pink only noticable when i wipe it happened for a day and a half.....so i wated for my period and it was 1 day late andnot like it usually is ...its usually very flowing....but its brown /bright red.....and if i use a tampon it only fills a quarter of it so its like im just spotting....
I am on the 28 day dose of ortho tri cyclen Lo...I recently had a UTI so I was on antibiotics for three days. We used condoms as a backup method for 7 days after I finished my antibiotic. I was fine and had no spotting during that time. We had sex over the weekend though with no backup, just the pill, and now I am experiencing breakthrough bleeding. I basically feel like I have my period, but it's a week early. I haven't missed any pills and always take them at the same time every morning...
ive been on ortho tri cyclen for 11 months and have had no problems until 1 week before my period i had very light pink discharge and it only happend 3 times in the evening and the next morning.... and only when i went to the restroom it was on the tp....could this be breakthrough bleeding after taking the pill this long....or implantation bleeding??....please help very worried....
At one point I had to take two pills at one time. Before Yasmin, I was on ortho tri-cyclen which made me bleed even more than Yasmin when I took the placebo pills. On Yasmin, I've noticed that I get more crampy when I have my period. Also, sometimes I feel nauseous. But other than that no other side effects.
my doctor switched me from ortho tri cyclen to marvelon because i was having break through bleeding. last month was the first month i was on marvelon and so far i had break through bleeding when i was on my third week and my period was supposed to be last week and it was extremely light (which is abnormal).i couldnt tell if i was still break through bleeding or actually on my period. the bleeding stopped yesterday and i started my pill today.
) last month and all was well up until the last week when I started spotting. Well because of my insurance I had to switch to ortho tri cyclen this month so i decided to skip the brown placebo pills so i could "skip" my period, but on exactly Day 1 of ortho tri cyclen it made me start my period Full on! I am on Day 3 and still have my period...... ugh!!!
She said to expect some breakthrough bleeding because I haven't been on bcp's in a long time. I was on ortho tri cyclen about 3 yrs ago with no problems. bleeding completely stopped after taking the bcp for 2 days/3 times a day. I then proceeded to finish out the pack 1 pill a day. About a day or 2 after the bleeding stopped, I started to spot again. Doc said to expect breakthrough bleeding. After about 2 weeks it got heavier and heavier to the point of a moderate to heavy period.
When it was time for my 4th I switched to ortho tri cyclen for about a week then discontinued bc all together. A week later I bleed for 6 days. That was 3 weeks ago and I’m having horrible pregnacy symptoms. Is it possible I may have conceived?
She said to expect some breakthrough bleeding because I haven't been on birth control pills for a very long time. I was on ortho tri cyclen about 3 years ago with no problems. bleeding completely stopped after taking the Femcon for 2 days/3 times a day. I then proceeded to finish out the pack 1 pill a day. About a day or 2 after the bleeding stopped, I started to spot again. Doc said to expect breakthrough bleeding so I didn't worry about it.
I was off of birth control for a few months, and got tri-Nessa when I went back on it (generic for ortho tri cyclen). I don't always experience bleeding with penetration, in fact that itself is pretty rare. With clitoral orgasm, I bleed. Hopefully this isn't "too much information", but yesterday, all I did was THINK about sex, get excited--no orgasm, no stimulation of any kind, and I'm bleeding a few hours later.
I have been on the pill for years now. I am currently on ortho-tri-cyclen-lo and I am thinking about switching to Seasonique so I won't get 12 periods a year. I want to be on a pill that won't make me gain weight or give me major acne. Any tips/help.
I started birth control (ortho tri cyclen lo) august 2 and I didnt take them at the same time each day. I had unprotected sex august 11 and I stopped taking my pill all together august 13. Today on august 17 i woke up bleeding. I am not suppose to get my period until around august 26th. Could I get pregnant and what is this bleeding from?
I've been on ortho tri cyclen lo for two months and hate it. I plan on switching to a monophasic. In mid-late august I'm supposed to be taking a trip to MI and also somtime right in the same window supposed to get my period. I am just m starting my second week of another tri cyclen pack. I'm wondering if I should get an extra pack of the tri cyclen and just double the weeks.
i found out after being on ortho tri cyclen lo for 2 years that i had a bad gallbladder and it could be due to the bc pills... best thing to do is go to the pharmacy and ask for the leaflet they keep in the boxes of pills..
I don't think you can do it without at least some spotting. ortho tri cyclen lo is a triphasic pill, which means that each week is a different dose. The bleeding on the pill is caused by withdrawal from the hormones, so even if you start a new pack with no break, you'll be lowering your dose and will probably bleed. In the future, if you want to be able to skip periods at will, get on on monophasic pill, which has only one dose and therefore allows you to skip periods by starting a new pack.
alright im on ortho tri cyclen....ive been on it for 11 months never missed a pill and never had any problems....untill this month I had bleeding exactly one week before my period it was very light pink only noticable when i wipe it happened for a day and a half.....so i wated for my period and it was a couple days late...not like it usually is ...its usually very flowing....but its brown /bright red.....and if i use a tampon it only fills a quarter of it....when usually im over flowing them....
After 5 years on it, she switched from ortho tri cyclen Lo to ortho tri cyclen in May. (She had breakthrough bleeding, no serious side effects.) When she switched, she hasn't found me attractive and is severely questioning whether we're meant to be together. There are moments where she shows she's still interested, and she describes herself as having mixed emotions. (Mood swings maybe?
For 8 years I took ortho-tri-cyclen, and was then switched to Femodette, a low-dose monophasic UK pill with 20 mcg of ehinylestradiol and 75 mcg of gestodene. ortho-tri-cyclen is not available in Europe. I requested that my GP prescribe a new pill anyway, as towards the end of 8 yrs on ortho-tri-cyclen I was experiencing moderate mood swings with frequency. I have 2 concerns: (a) Is my new pill safe?
ive been taking ortho tri cyclen for 11 months and have never had any problems with it....me and my bf dont use anyother protection we figured the pill would be fine on its own....so 7 days before my period when i went to the restroom i noticed a very light pink discharge or watever only on the tp its was very watery like and only happened for 2 days I only noticed it 3-4 times if that....so i wated around for my period which always last from wednesday till tuesday....
I had my lap surgery in August 09, and have been on continuous BC since October 09 and my period (or breakthrough bleeding) hasn't stopped since I switched over - now going on 7 months! Previously I was taking ortho-tri-cyclen Lo and since October I've tried ortho cyclen, Necon 1/35 (ortho-Novum), Apri (Desogen), and now Zovia (Demulen). Sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone who has tried taking continuous BC to stop their period have any insights on how long it took?
ive been taking ortho tri cyclen for 11 months and have never had any problems with it....me and my bf dont use anyother protection we figured the pill would be fine on its own....so 7 days before my period when i went to the restroom i noticed a very light pink discharge or watever only on the tp its was very watery like and only happened for 2 days I only noticed it 3-4 times if that....so i wated around for my period which always last from wednesday till tuesday....
