ortho-tri-cyclen

Avatar f tn ) last month and all was well up until the last week when I started spotting. Well because of my insurance I had to switch to Ortho Tri Cyclen this month so i decided to skip the brown placebo pills so i could "skip" my period, but on exactly Day 1 of Ortho Tri Cyclen it made me start my period Full on! I am on Day 3 and still have my period...... ugh!!!
1699847 tn?1306967171 I have been on the pill for years now. I am currently on Ortho-tri-cyclen-lo and I am thinking about switching to Seasonique so I won't get 12 periods a year. I want to be on a pill that won't make me gain weight or give me major acne. Any tips/help.
Avatar n tn I just recently started taking a Ortho tri-cyclen and I was wondering if starting birth control could cause your period to be delayed?
Avatar n tn ...ive been on ortho tri cyclen for 11 months never missed a pill and never had any problems....untill this month I had bleeding exactly one week before my period it was very light pink only noticable when i wipe it happened for a day and a half.....so i wated for my period and it was 1 day late andnot like it usually is ...its usually very flowing....but its brown /bright red.....and if i use a tampon it only fills a quarter of it so its like im just spotting....
Avatar f tn t think you can do it without at least some spotting. Ortho tri cyclen lo is a triphasic pill, which means that each week is a different dose. The bleeding on the pill is caused by withdrawal from the hormones, so even if you start a new pack with no break, you'll be lowering your dose and will probably bleed. In the future, if you want to be able to skip periods at will, get on on monophasic pill, which has only one dose and therefore allows you to skip periods by starting a new pack.
Avatar f tn I am experiencing breakthrough bleeding on ortho tri cyclen, between days 11 and 14 in my BC pack. The doctor syas it happens and it is only annoying but I really would like to not have to endure three or four days of breakthrough bleeding or spotting every month. It is messy and not very pleasant during inter course. What other pill combination would lessen this? I am open to a type and dose that will stop this.
Avatar n tn After 5 years on it, she switched from Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo to Ortho Tri Cyclen in May. (She had breakthrough bleeding, no serious side effects.) When she switched, she hasn't found me attractive and is severely questioning whether we're meant to be together. There are moments where she shows she's still interested, and she describes herself as having mixed emotions. (Mood swings maybe?
Avatar n tn I had my lap surgery in August 09, and have been on continuous BC since October 09 and my period (or breakthrough bleeding) hasn't stopped since I switched over - now going on 7 months! Previously I was taking Ortho-Tri-Cyclen Lo and since October I've tried Ortho Cyclen, Necon 1/35 (Ortho-Novum), Apri (Desogen), and now Zovia (Demulen). Sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone who has tried taking continuous BC to stop their period have any insights on how long it took?
Avatar n tn This is my first month on ortho tri cyclen lo. planned parenthood told me that I should get my period when I am taking the green "sugar pills" at the end of the pack, right before I start a new pack of pills. But I am on my period on the last few dark blue pills, before the green pills. I take the pill at the same time every day and I don't skip...is everything ok?
Avatar f tn i recently switched from yaz birth control to ortho tri-cyclen lo and on about my 16th day of the new pill i started to bleed pretty heavy.. this is about 2 weeks before i should of gotten my period. and its been about 8 days now, im still bleeding, and it doesnt seem like it's going to stop anytime soon. is this just because i switched pills? and did i get my period early? or is this just breakthrough bleeding?
Avatar f tn I started taking ortho tri-cyclen birth control pills since august 4, 2013 to help regulate my periods. I started my cycle/bleeding august 14 to 24 which was very odd to me b/c my cycles r 5-6 days long but this time it wasn't and my period came august 14, 2013 but it would usually come At the end of the month or sometimes the beginning or not at all. So since my period came then and lasted that long, does that mean my period is trying to get back on track?
Avatar f tn I was previously on Ortho Tri Cyclen for a year an a half. I stopped taking it about 6 months ago and was off the pill for that time period. I just started a new pill called Lo Lestren Fe on September 2nd and I started spotting pretty heavily for the past 9 days and it still hasn't stopped.
Avatar m tn I was debating between Ortho Cyclen, Ortho Tri Cyclen or Othro Tri Cyclen Lo.. I am currently on Ortho Cyclen but I was thinking why am I pumping all this hormones into my body each month. Me and my partner also use condoms as backup. I am even willing to try other brands if 1 is better? I guess I just dont under the difference between them all and the effect on your body good/bad. Thanks!
Avatar n tn if your on the pill for two weeks than stop, how much will that mess up your hormones? if you have breakthrough bleeding or withdrawl bleeding when would you become fertile again?
Avatar m tn I have had a hormonal imbalance for 2 years (producing too much androgen) and in that time I had gained quite a bit of weight. I am now taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen and have actually begun to FINALLY start losing weight. My weight loss is not much yet, but I was wondering if taking these birth control pills is actually the reason for my weight loss?
Avatar f tn I am on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen, which is a triphasic pill. I have tried skipping my period before by just taking a new pack before I started my period, but I had break through bleeding. After doing some research, I found that that isn't the best way to skip your period on a triphasic pill.
Avatar f tn I have been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for almost 6 months. I always got my period when I started my green pills but this month I didnt. But as soon as I finished the green pill I had a light brown discharge only once. Just wondering what this could be?
Avatar f tn I have been using Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for about 4 years with no interruptions and very few missed pills, no missed pills in the past 2 months. I am sexually active with my husband (we do not use condoms) of 5 years and we had a child together 4.5 years ago. I am exactly 1 week away from my inactive pills and started getting a brown discharge today what may be causing this?
Avatar n tn I took an Ortho Tri-Cyclen birth control pill this morning & have been experiencing accelerated heart rate, difficulty breathing and numbness of the limbs. What do these symptoms indicate & what steps should I take?
Avatar n tn This is my first month on ortho tri cyclen lo. I started on the first day of my period and it had been shorter than usual. Then towards the end of the month when I started taking the dark blue pills I started spotting, but then towards the last 3 pills it started to flow like a regular period. Does this mean I'm going to get a period on the green pills?
Avatar f tn I went to the gyno yesterday and was given Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo to help regulate my periods. I have not had a period since March 2008. My doc told me to begin my first month of pills on the Sunday following the beginning of my next period. Problem is, i don't have any idea when that could be. Does anyone know if it would be harmful for me to begin taking the pills now and not wait for my next period?

Avatar f tn Has anyone ever switched from Loestrin 24 to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo? Anybody ever gotten pregnant while on the "lo estrogen" pills? I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????
Avatar f tn Ortho Evra®, Ovcon® 35, Ortho Tri-Cyclen®, Othro-Cyclen®, Necon® 1/35, Alesse®, Levlite®, Tri-Levlen or Trivora.
Avatar n tn I have already posted a question, but I'm switching birth control's Friday, and I'm think about going on Ortho Tri-Cyclen because I heard it's almost the best birth control you can find. Any other suggestions??
Avatar n tn Ok...so i began taking the ortho tri-cyclen lo last friday as the quick start option. I am normally supposed to be on my period right now. BUT it has not started yet and i'm beginning to worry. Does taking the pills as the quick start prevent my period from normally happening? Or is it supposed to just start when i get to the "inactive" pills in the pack? Should i be worried that i may be pregnant??
2020005 tn?1628125976 I stopped taking my Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo on the 20th of this month, but before I even stopped taking it (the 19th) I was having some light spotting, it continued for 3 days, just light brown/pink spotting, I noticed it was EW like, just brownish, does that mean I ovulated this month, or is that just a side effect of stopping my BC, having EWCM??? Is it possible to ovulate straight off from birth control?!
Avatar f tn I also am on birth control and have been for the past three years but did just chance from ortho tri cyclen lo to regular ortho tri cyclen, about three months ago. Do you have any advice? I am in college and these headaches make it very hard to study. Thank you!
