I have had a hormonal imbalance for 2 years (producing too much androgen) and in that time I had gained quite a bit of weight. I am now taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen and have actually begun to FINALLY start losing weight. My weight loss is not much yet, but I was wondering if taking these birth control pills is actually the reason for my weight loss?
) last month and all was well up until the last week when I started spotting. Well because of my insurance I had to switch to Ortho Tri Cyclen this month so i decided to skip the brown placebo pills so i could "skip" my period, but on exactly Day 1 of Ortho Tri Cyclen it made me start my period Full on! I am on Day 3 and still have my period...... ugh!!!
I was debating between Ortho Cyclen, Ortho Tri Cyclen or Othro Tri Cyclen Lo.. I am currently on Ortho Cyclen but I was thinking why am I pumping all this hormones into my body each month.
Me and my partner also use condoms as backup.
I am even willing to try other brands if 1 is better?
I guess I just dont under the difference between them all and the effect on your body good/bad.

I started taking ortho tri-cyclen birth control pills since august 4, 2013 to help regulate my periods. I started my cycle/bleeding august 14 to 24 which was very odd to me b/c my cycles r 5-6 days long but this time it wasn't and my period came august 14, 2013 but it would usually come At the end of the month or sometimes the beginning or not at all. So since my period came then and lasted that long, does that mean my period is trying to get back on track?
What kind of birth control pill are you on? I have been on both Tri-Spintec (generic Ortho Tri-Cyclen) + Ortho Try-Cyclen Lo, and I know that if you miss 2 or 3 days of the pills, it will give you an early period. Were you taking it consistently before those days that you missed? And did you have sex after those missed pills?
Either way, I think that it is probably because you missed those two pills, but if you want to know for sure go pick up a pregnancy test.
Well, i know about 5 people that were on ortho tri cyclen lo and got pregnant and 3 of them were taking it correctly. I was on ortho tri cyclen lo for 7 months this year. I stopped my pills in Oct. and started taking prenatal pills because i ended up pregnant but it was a chemical pregnancy. I would suggest you get a stronger dose bcp if your doctor says its ok..... Im sure that if you talk to your doc.

She was taking ortho tri cyclen and everything seemed fine, but her doctor switched her over to Yaz and ever since then it's been horrible. She's always got very bad mood swings, and her sex drive is ZERO and it hurts when we do it. I was taking Ortho Cyclen for 2 months and my doctor changed my pills to Ortho Novum. I bled a little when i started the new prescription, about 3 days before the inactive pills, I bled very very little (like 2 days but not enough to even use a tampon). I am 5 days into my new pill pack. I take my pills before bed and i did forget twice last month but took them as soon as i woke up.(between my 2 and 3rd week) I have been feeling moody lately and pretty crampy.
...ive been on ortho tri cyclen for 11 months never missed a pill and never had any problems....untill this month I had bleeding exactly one week before my period it was very light pink only noticable when i wipe it happened for a day and a half.....so i wated for my period and it was 1 day late andnot like it usually is ...its usually very flowing....but its brown /bright red.....and if i use a tampon it only fills a quarter of it so its like im just spotting....
I have already posted a question, but I'm switching birth control's Friday, and I'm think about going on Ortho Tri-Cyclen because I heard it's almost the best birth control you can find. Any other suggestions??
t want to worry or alarm you, but Ortho Tri-Cyclen *****!!!! I was on that pill for at least 6 months and ennded up getting pregnant. So did 12 other women. Then after I had my son an I had gone back to work an regular customer came in..Thought she had the flu cuz she'd been sick for 2 wks, turns out she was pregnant.
I been taking ortho tri-cyclen lo 1 yr and a half, this last pack i have missed some days and double up on the pill, i didn't take any of the green pills. didn't get my period and started a new pack and then had spotting on the first week of the pills. I am starting on week three and starting to feel real tired and swollen breast and occasion nausea. My bf is overseas and last time we where together was in december, is there any reason to be alarm, can i be pregnant .
I've been on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen for about 8 years. I had my period almost two weeks ago and yesterday I had brown discharge when I wiped. This is the first time this has ever happened to me. I am married and consistently have unprotected sex with my husband, he does *** inside me. What could this mean? Could I be pregnant? Thanks for the help.
