Common Questions and Answers about Orapred toddler

orapred

Avatar f tn During our last ER visit for allergic reaction (severe stridor), the doc wasn't thrilled we gave Orapred along with the Benadryl .. he said in her case iI should have used the Epi Pen and called 911 ... but he tolerated that I gave the Orapred with high end Benadryl dosing and then, of course, had to tell me I gave too little Orapred (with a stern look on his face), so they administered more in the hospital ... ok ok .... the bottle was over a year old & the dose was too little ....

3023697 tn?1340131407 Will orapred cause a childs behavior to involve into bad behavior? My son is 6 yrs old and was diagnoised with duchanenne muscular dystophy a few monthes back . His behavior has increasingly gotten worse. I think his meds have something to do with it. Thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn This season came around and sure enough, when he got a cold it went straight to lungs (wheezing, SOB, coughing) We started inhaled steroid (budesonide), albuterol regimen again. Proved unsuccessful to resolve cough. Round of Orapred proved unsuccessful to resolve cough. After four months we consulted with Pulmonologist. Switched up steriod to inhaled Flovent 44 instead of nebulizer and albuterol qid. No results. Chest x-ray and blood allergy (why not at this point) ordered and clear.
Avatar n tn Her symptoms are swollen tonsils, puss pockets at times on the tonsils, skin tenderness, puffy face. She has been on Orapred for the inflammation and that seems to help. Just wanted to know if these were any symptoms of that disease.
327369 tn?1326119908 these do not work during a cold and we always end up on Orapred (steriod). He has to have it though...........but we are on this a lot -----do you worry about the side effects of this if you have a child. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I decided to take her to a different allgerist for a second opinion. At this point she was placed on Zyrtec 5mg BID, Orapred 15 mg q daily x 5 days and Triamcinolone cream BID. The plaques were beginning to get better and I have seen some encouraging results regarding them. However, 2 days after finishing the Orapred, she has developed an extremely itchy rash from her neck almost to her knees. The rash is slightly raised and red.
Avatar n tn My 6 year old woke up one morning a month ago with a constant dry hacking half cough. He has been on Zithromax, pro air inhaler, qvar inhaler, and orapred. Nothing has helped. His lungs are clear so they have ruled out asthma. Now they are referring him to an allergy doctor. How can it be an allergy when he does not have any allergy symptoms? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I have an 8 year old son that takes pulmicort, and just finished Orapred when I noticed a little bump in the back of his head. He scratches it alot, and I was told by the doctor to put cortizone on it. Because he had asthma, he more than likely had eczema. About a week later, his little bump turned into a big knot, and you can see it if he turns to the side. It itches more now that it has gotten bigger. I don't think it is eczema, but who am I? I am not a doctor.
Avatar n tn My son started doing a similar eye rolling back in Feb. I swear it started after a few doses of Orapred for Croup. Been to pediatrician, neurologist had EEG all came back good. When he rolls his eyes they either go up real quick or up to a side just for a second. I am torn if its a voluntary or involuntary action, sometimes I think he is doing it voluntarily and if thats the case I am not worried, but other times he looks like its involuntary.
Avatar n tn This initially helped w/ the mouth ulcers but the one down my throat got much worse. I was given a Celestone inj and put on Orapred. Also taking Pepsid. Throat neg for strep and mouth ulcers neg for Herpes. This helped for about 3 days but then the pain has come back. I have also gotten a few more ulcers to my tongue and some of my gums are swollen. I have lost 9 pounds since the start of this b/c of the pain to eat.

Avatar n tn I have a 2 year old toddler and i just had my baby girl yesterday so today we came home my son doesnt love me nomore i try to give him alot of attention but all he keeps doing is being apart from me now that the baby is here i feel like a bad mom i know i shouldnt but i do! I dont know what to do for him to know that i still love him no matter what and that i dont have a favorite i love both of them to death equally.. How did some of u mommies do it?
Avatar n tn which is very common in the toddler stage. Does he speak yet? Full sentences? It takes lots of patience and time and always repeating yourself to him about his behavior. Have you tried time outs? They work generally well on toddlers. When he does something wrong,. put him on time out for 2.5 minutes. When he doesn't get his way and acts this way of clenching his fists and shaking, ask him what is wrong, and after he has calmed down, talk to him about his behavior.
Avatar f tn My daughter has been coughing for a month now, it's not all the time. During this month she has had pink eye and a ear infection. The pink eye went away with meds, the ear infection is now on week 3. She took amoxicillon (the pink one) for 10 days, and now she's starting amoxicillon (the white one) for 10 more days. As for the cough, she has been prescribed 3 different meds for her cough pseudophedrine, prednisone (orapred), albuterol, and now prednisone again.
Avatar f tn Convertible. Its nice to go from a crib to a toddler bed. You get more for your money. You'll be surprised how soon you'll need a toddler bed. My son started crawling out of the crib at a little over a year Haha scary because he's clumsy like me. I didn't have a convertible crib so I had to go buy a toddler bed.
4838572 tn?1367706719 But with my first son I had the crib n he would bang his head and body on the bars so I changed him into a toddler bed and he does better in a toddler bed. If I would of known I would of just got a playpen til he was about 15 months then change him into a toddler bed n once he is a bit bigger get him a twin size and all that does add up to a crib itself. That's my plans for my this baby its also too much to get for the crib. Just my opinion as I see it u know I see it easier that way.
Avatar f tn Well if you get a convertable crib it will change to a toddler bed which is what I'll be getting.
Avatar f tn I was just wondering if it was pointless to buy I toddler bed. how long did you lil one use one for. should I just invest in a single?
342647 tn?1291107933 It is really easy to get on and off and once the new baby is old enough o protest about not really being able to see you can just take the front toddler seat off and it is a normal pram. the toddler attachment is only $65 so not too bad as apposed to the extra cost of a double pram which you said was a waste. We would like to have 3 kids so it would get plenty of use. Wouldn't it be nice to be really rich and just get every combination you could think of and try them all out.
Avatar f tn Heck no carrying your toddler should be fine when they get 7 ,or 8 that could harm your child probably if your still carrying them at that time but I doubt anyone will be carrying a 7 or 8 year still lol
7758733 tn?1402589420 The plan is to get my son (16mnth) in a toddler bed, and keep new baby out of the bed as well. My question is what is the best cost and space efficient way to do this? I was just thinking a toddler bed for him and the pack n play for new baby. But my mom says I should get convertible crib? What was your experience, or opinion?
291233 tn?1347297526 I would get her a "big girl" bed a few months before baby arrives. If she still feels like the crib is her bed she will for sure climb in and it will make the transition harder. I had to put my oldest boy in a toddler bed at 13 months (he would escape from the crib by shimmying himself up and go top heavy and fall on his head... He only did it once) I would put a baby gate across his room door which prevented him from leaving the room in the middle of the night.
10507584 tn?1411068756 This is our 2nd baby but first breeched and now I must have a c section... Please ladies I'm worried because I'm a stay at home mom and my toddler is always wanting me...
Avatar f tn My 23 month old son has recently started sleeping on the floor. My fiance and I put him to bed in his toddler bed for his nap or bed time and a while later we check on him and he's on the floor. He's been in his toddler bed since he was 18 months and never had this problem until now. Any suggestions on why he does it or what to do about it?
