1916673 tn?1420233270 As with all meds, there are potential side effects and a specific contra-indication when liver failure is evident, but other than that, I have no hesitation in recommending it for CKF dogs.
Avatar f tn During our last ER visit for allergic reaction (severe stridor), the doc wasn't thrilled we gave Orapred along with the Benadryl .. he said in her case iI should have used the Epi Pen and called 911 ... but he tolerated that I gave the Orapred with high end Benadryl dosing and then, of course, had to tell me I gave too little Orapred (with a stern look on his face), so they administered more in the hospital ... ok ok .... the bottle was over a year old & the dose was too little ....
Avatar n tn I don't know why you would take both. Promethazine is another form of medication for nausea and it's side effects are HORRIBLE. Zofran is a first class drug (I've been using it for several months) and I don't see any reason for you to be on both. I would definitely question your doctor and demand some form of explanation. Plus always remember, just because it is prescribed, doesn't mean you have to take it.
Avatar f tn HI, Zoloft (sertraline) is used to treat depression, panic disorders and anxiety. Nausea is one the side effects of the drug. If Ondansetron is not helping there are other drugs like antacids and proton pump inhibitors that can give relief. You can ask your Doctor for a change of prescription. Also dietary modification like eating a bland non-spicy food, avoiding alcohol and smoking will help. The answer is based on information provided.
14868695 tn?1443396776 And now I have a prescription for it. The side effects list is soo long. It says to talk to your doctor to see if the benefits out weigh the risks. Now I don't even want to take it. :( I'm not sure what to do. I have morning sickness but it's not always that bad.
Avatar f tn My GI now wants me to begin taking Reglan with the hope that I will be able to tolerate a low enough dose to switch to the Canadian made similiar medication not available in the US. The side of effects of REGLAN are scary and I have currently am taking Lotrel 5/40 for HBP. SInce the GI just gave me samples of a REGLAN generic Metozolv ODT last night and I read the side effects today, I'm thinking of not starting the medication until I speak with him on Monday.
Avatar f tn Side effects of Maxalt is pressure in your chest & throat. I did ok the times I've only needed it once. But, today I had to take it twice. After that second dose...omg, the pressure is HORRIBLE!!!!!!! I honestly think it is worse than a migraine. There are no words to describe it. You can't breathe & you can barely swallow just your saliva! I'm wondering if it is side effects that get better the more you take it? And if it does...
768044 tn?1294223436 I currently use zomig nasal spray. I give it two thumbs up! In the past I have also used Maxalt (the dissolving kind) and Axert. I like zomig. The taste of the nasal spray isn't great (okay, it's TERRIBLE), but it works better than the tablets (in my personal experience and also this is true in terms of the chemical interaction of the medication in the various forms as they've found via scientific trials...

Avatar n tn Her symptoms are swollen tonsils, puss pockets at times on the tonsils, skin tenderness, puffy face. She has been on Orapred for the inflammation and that seems to help. Just wanted to know if these were any symptoms of that disease.
Avatar n tn I have an 8 year old son that takes pulmicort, and just finished Orapred when I noticed a little bump in the back of his head. He scratches it alot, and I was told by the doctor to put cortizone on it. Because he had asthma, he more than likely had eczema. About a week later, his little bump turned into a big knot, and you can see it if he turns to the side. It itches more now that it has gotten bigger. I don't think it is eczema, but who am I? I am not a doctor.
Avatar f tn Because you never know can or cannot gave possible negitive side effects. Everything in this world has possible negative side effects. And in most cases like zofran they are very rare and doesnt have any real medical evidence to back it up.
Avatar f tn Zofran is better during pregnancy, I don't like promethazine as much because it has some bad long term side effects, and zofran is more effective. They use it for chemo patients. Let's be clear about form of promethazine as it comes in a liquid mainly for cough medicine promethazine w/codeine (promethazine w/codeine syrup is highly abused in our country) plain promethazine syrp, promethazine vc syrp and pill form.
Avatar f tn Nausea is one of the most common side effects of Incivek. The drugs are working so hold on tight to that thought. When you get that 4 week PCR and it comes back UND it will give you a nice little boost to keep on pushing. 12 weeks of Incivek and your done with that phase of triple therapy. After cessation of Incivek you should start feeling better even though you'll have the interferon and ribavirin to contend with. It will get better!
Avatar f tn It has gotten better but my doctor gave me some nausea pills (ondansetron odt 4mg tablet) and it has helped a lot.
1828249 tn?1320012338 Do they come in individual blister packs, or just a bottle? The ODT are packaged separately because they start to break up as soon as you open it.
Avatar f tn I decided to take her to a different allgerist for a second opinion. At this point she was placed on Zyrtec 5mg BID, Orapred 15 mg q daily x 5 days and Triamcinolone cream BID. The plaques were beginning to get better and I have seen some encouraging results regarding them. However, 2 days after finishing the Orapred, she has developed an extremely itchy rash from her neck almost to her knees. The rash is slightly raised and red.
Avatar n tn My son started doing a similar eye rolling back in Feb. I swear it started after a few doses of Orapred for Croup. Been to pediatrician, neurologist had EEG all came back good. When he rolls his eyes they either go up real quick or up to a side just for a second. I am torn if its a voluntary or involuntary action, sometimes I think he is doing it voluntarily and if thats the case I am not worried, but other times he looks like its involuntary.
Avatar m tn I will do that it seems the higher dose has created this and I'm not on anything else.
