glucose

Avatar m tn how much water do you usually consumed on a daily basis and have you noticed an increased in thirst? Usually when your body doesn't produce enough insulin, then the overabundant amount of glucose that circulate in your blood will increase the blood's osmotic gradient...thus causing your brain to create a thirst sensation in order to receive more water to help dilute the blood's concentration.
Avatar n tn What your pattern suggests is that your body can still keep your post-meal glucose controlled but not the overnight one(when your liver makes glucose for you). With good changes in your diet and exercise patterns and some weight loss, you should be able to get this morning value under control too. Best of luck and take care.
Avatar m tn Thank you so much for your input. I guess it is the same finding about Vit C molecule and Glucose molecule and how they both look the same and why cancer cells "think" it's the right fuel for them where in fact it's Vitamin C molecule absorb. I have a little text in my journal about Vit C and Glucose. Take a look if you like. Take care, Hugs, Sunes.
Avatar m tn My non-scientific mind wonders, If not contraindicated why the two drugs could not be combined along with ribavirin and possibly produce a better result. From my limited perspective, It seems as though the smaller molecule pegintron's ability to get to all those nooks and crannies where the virus may be stuck, and the larger molecule pegasys' ability to stay in the body longer and bring down vl more quickly could have an enhanced effect during treatment.
Avatar f tn smell may be linked to certain types of diabetes...we all know our bodys will produce a sweet smell when our blood sugar is high...what if our blood sugars run low to often...could this be the reason? I also have had on many occautions had this type of garlic smell on my hands without consuming ANY garic products in months! BUT I know I have tendencies to be hypoglycemic...boarderline. I A1c is always just below where it needs to be...
Avatar n tn Lactose Polyethylene Glycol Listing just lactose (One Molecule of lactose consists of one molecule each of two other carbohydrates, i.e. galactose and glucose) and Polyethylene Glycol. I will give you this information and let you draw your own conclusions as the safety of the product. The dosage for production must usually be within 5% of the labeled dosage to be considered (for example) a 2mg dose.
956931 tn?1271636169 Good Afternoon, I just spoke with the Coordinator of my study about the glucose issue. My last blood glucose was 97 before the "week one" blood draw last week which indicated a blood glucose of 114. My Hgb A1C was 6.1 and needed to be under 7.0; which it is. So I am not excluded due to my blood sugar as it is not at this time a problem and falls well within the range of acceptable.
Avatar f tn One thing to investigate is whether you are experiencing the Symogi effect [reverse hyperglycemia while sleeping]. To counter this the liver releases extra glucose. One way to find out is to set your alarm and wake up at 2-3 am, or 4 hours after your bedtime, and test. Low glucose <70 mg/dl will signify this effect.
Avatar f tn TSH is a pituitary hormone that tells your thyroid gland to produce more or less thyroid horones. So a High TSH means that the pituitary is asking your thyroid gland to produce more thyroid. Which means that your thyroid level is low. YOur thyroid gland produces primarily two hormones. T4 and T3. But by far most of it is T4. T4 hormone is a storage hormone. That is it remains in your blood at the ready for when your body needs thyroid hormone.
2040468 tn?1330989969 I've had this strange problem pretty consistently for the past year or so. My hands will have a strange orde. It smells very much like garlic. Though it comes and goes, it doesn't tend to completely go away, at least not for long, and it often gets very, very strong. So much so that I will notice it when my hand is still a foot away from my face. It's weird, and it's gross. I've tried going without garlic, onions, etc. in my diet, but it doesn't make a difference.
806995 tn?1265823176 My glucose level are on the high side (6.5, 5.2, 6.1 mmol/l at -1, 1, and 4 weeks of TX respectively). Hence, I suspect I'm insulin resistent. I'm genotype 1 and have also HIV. At 4 weeks I only had a 0.23 log drop in VL. I may well be a non-responder, and perhaps it is related to a possible IR. In November 2008 the results of a double blind test was published, where IR geno 1 HCV where treated with additional Metformin to suppress the IR. It worked, but mainly for women and fat people.
315737 tn?1407298997 These changes are also thought to be markers for aging. The scientists say that it is the fructose molecule in the sucrose, not the glucose, that plays the larger part.20 Because it is metabolized by the liver, fructose does not cause the pancreas to release insulin the way it normally does. Fructose converts to fat more than any other sugar. This may be one of the reasons Americans continue to get fatter. Fructose raises serum triglycerides significantly.
Tbd Yes, sodas contain high-fructose corn syrup which is a simple sugar. This means that it is rapidly metabolized resulting in a rapid increase in blood glucose. This in turn leads to the rapid release of insulin which performs the role of "escorting" the glucose into your cells in order to produce ATP. Simply stated, ATP is what fuels our bodies.
Avatar f tn I went to the emergencyroom back in march. They did blood tests and my glucose was 104 which they considered high(normal being up to 99) They never said anything to me about this and as far as I know, I have never had this before. I had to go to the emergency room again last month and again, they did blood work. My glucose level was only 88. I am just wondering if I should be looking into this. Could I be diabetic? They never said anything about the high level.
Avatar m tn Since suboxone is a opiate or syntheticy similar molecule, will it show up on a stanard urine analyis, the kind that are given by employers?
Avatar n tn This machine will calculate exactly how much you ate in your meal, because a tiny blue tooth infrared camera which will be planted in your stomach will transmit info of exactly what went in to your system. This type of glucose which will be in the pump will get into your entire bloodstream within seconds, and you will not feel any symptoms. This would be an electronic pancreas! If NASA could invent a spaceship they could definitely invent this little thing! What do you think?
Avatar m tn If so, that appears to be normal. The likes of cardio level aerobic exercise will cause the release of glucose by the liver and for some people that causes a temporary rise in glucose levels. Also, I wasn't aware of this. Look at the 3rd paragraph on the right that begins with the word Atheletes. http://tinyurl.
Avatar f tn Also will add that fasting glucose is not a good indicator. you need to ask your doctor to test HA1c. THis test gives average glucose levels over a 3 month period and is a very indication of your blood sugar levels and status. Thyroid being off can affect your glucose. However as Zoela said take this as a timely warning about there being a potential problem and use it.
Avatar f tn Buprenorphine is a partial agonist and antagonist of the opioid receptors in the central nervous system which means that when its molecule binds to a receptor, it will transduce only a partial response in contrast to a full agonist such as morphine. Buprenorphine has such a high affinity to the opioid receptors that the opioid receptor antagonists (e.g. naloxone) only partially reverse its effects. This means that an overdose of buprenorphine cannot be easily reversed.
Avatar n tn When people are ill, they produce some stress hormones, and these hormones can cause glucose levels to rise a little. That might explain your very SLIGHTLY elevated fasting number. The medicines might also cause an elevated number. In my humble opinion, your number is really pretty normal (the range that has been quoted to me as normal for a fasting glucose test is slightly different from the one you gave... the numbers my endocrinologist uses are 70-126).
192918 tn?1199451179 t think that one prescription and one pill a day will solve your problem. It is MUCH more tricky than that. Some people are lucky and the have good Dr's and get dosage tweaked in a matter of a couple months. Others it LITERALLY can take years. Oh yeah. One fmore thing. Did they test for Hashimoto's disease which is the leading cause of Hypo. This is tested by a blood test for TWO antibodies. Elevated amount of either one, or both would indicate that you ahve the disease.
Avatar m tn 1. Can the heart rate or blood pressure depends on lipids or glucose level in blood? 2. Can lipids or glucose level in blood be increased by stress?
