1916673 tn?1420233270 Hi Tony, I personally used the following about a year ago, as prescribed by a Doctor. Found that it was RAPID and LONG LASTING and 100% effective. Haven't done any research or asked a Vet. All I know is, that it is EFFECTIVE and long lasting. The chemical name(s):: 'ONDANSETRON ODT'...4mg or 'ZOFRAN ODT'....4mg (Mfg.
Avatar f tn I was put on 50 mg of zoloft a month ago and have had nausea ever since. It seems like it's been getting worse over the last couple of weeks. Yesterday I was prescribed Ondansetron ODT 4mg. It doesn't seem to help. Will the nausea go away?
Avatar f tn It has gotten better but my doctor gave me some nausea pills (ondansetron odt 4mg tablet) and it has helped a lot.
Avatar f tn I never had hep A, but have considerable experience with nausea and vomiting, While on treatment for hep c these symptoms were almost continuous. Ondansetron 8mg ODT (orally disolving tablets) worked well and gaviscon, that I learned would stop my retching immediately. One morning I was standing at the counter trying to figure out how I was going to get down 20 grams of fat so I could take my pills and began to retch.
Avatar f tn Ondansetron 4mg the disolve on ur tounge the taste fruity and one a day keep the sickness away!
Avatar f tn You can try taking vomikind 4 mg (Ondansetron 4mg) I'm 13 weeks and my doctor prescribed me the same.
8377023 tn?1399509160 Well it is causing me to puke, but I need to take it. I also got perscribed 4mg ondansetron which for some odd reason is not helping me with my nausea. Is there anything I can do about this? I just took the hydrocodone-acetaminophen and about puked. Im watching five kids and CANNOT throw up while im watching them. Should I just down as much water as I can and eat little snacks so that I dont get sick?
Avatar f tn Experiencing low grade fever & periodic nausea. Doctor prescribed Ondansetron 4mg for nausea. I am not vomiting. No other symptoms except difficulty concentrating & remembering.
Avatar f tn I have terrible morning sickness and I was given a prescription for ondansetron 4mg which is the generic version of zofran. I'm scared to take it because of the possible side effects and the warnings I've seen on TV. I don't want to take any risks when it comes to my baby. Any thoughts on this?
Avatar f tn Ive just been prescribed zofran 4mg. It says to take one tablet four times a day but its $60 for a box of 10 and only have one repeat script. I think she wants me to only take it when I need it and stick to maxalon. How often do you need to take it ?
Avatar f tn Ondansetron is Zofran hun. Its just the generic name for zofran. Even though theres a lawsuit, id say its more of a money maker. I took it both pregnancies and my babies came out fine. Youve got to look at whether the benefits outweigh the risk with ANY medication. If youre miserable and need to eat for baby, take it. My advice is try to only take it when u really need it, not on a regular basis. Stop as soon as symptoms ease up. Lots of water too.
Avatar f tn Ondansetron is the generic for Zofran. Why would you refuse it? It's safe to take or your Dr wouldn't prescribe it to you. There's other meds out there if you don't want to take it. My Dr gave me Diclegis. It helped take the edge off the nausea.
640548 tn?1340553355 I live by them, I also take the generic form of Zofran, its called Ondansetron (4mg)...I swear by them!! I am 20 weeks as of today and still have to take one almost everyday. Feel better soon!
Avatar f tn Ladies if your doctor has proscribed u a medication called ondansetron I wouldn't take it. That medication is an off brand name for Zofran. I just saw a commercial that it has side effects on pregnancies and can cause miscarriages. I was taking it until now and I'm 33 weeks pregnant. Mine was only 4 mg but I took about 10 or 11 pills so that's 40-44mg. I don't trust this medication even tho it's for morning sickness and nausea.
Avatar f tn During your next doctors appointment, ask for Zofran. The generic (ondansetron hcl) is usually really cheap, and it's a miracle. I have not just morning sickness, but all day, 24/7 sickness annnnd I work in an ER where smells are abundant. I have spoken with not only my OB, but several ER docs and they all swear by Zofran. The usual prescription is 4mg, but you can take up to 8mg at a time.
8171031 tn?1399327634 I take ondansetron 4mg wonderful n safe
1711722 tn?1356487554 How do you take your Zofran/Ondansetron?? My instructions are every 8 hours *as needed* but I have only been taking them once a day, after lunch, because my 3pm meds seem to cause the worst nausea. How do you take Zofran in relation to other meds? An hour before? An hour after? Only when you feel sick? What has worked best for you?? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I take Zofran everyday..usually get away w/just one pill...4mg...generic name is ONDANSETRON... Cost @ Walgreens for 30 pills is $495.00 USD..it is covered by most insurance companies...I did take phenegram..12.5mg as needed..made me tired and also mixed w/my antidepressants @ night and gave me restless leg syndrome... I like the Zofram a lot better.. NO SIDE EFFECTS... and it works quickly... Hope this info helps...
2147300 tn?1369689688 Everyone's symptoms are different and vary in severity. The best advice I can offer is contact your doctor when side effects begin, so that you can hopefully get them managed properly and quickly. That will help you stay on treatment for the full course (and also help your family too!). Make sure that you are taking your Riba with food, and make sure that you are drinking enough water. Rest when you're tired, and don't overdo. That can lead to nausea as well.
Avatar f tn Ondansetron has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. Animal studies failed to reveal evidence of fetal damage. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Case reports have described two women who have received ondansetron during pregnancy for life-threatening hyperemesis gravidarum. No abnormalities were noted in the offspring of these two women. Ondansetron is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
