Ondansetron is the generic for Zofran. Why would you refuse it? It's safe to take or your Dr wouldn't prescribe it to you. There's other meds out there if you don't want to take it. My Dr gave me Diclegis. It helped take the edge off the nausea.

In my opinion, if your doctor reccomended them you should be okay... But if I were you I wouldn't. Some women do get very sick in their firat trimester and lose a lot of weight, but you shouldn't worry about it. You should start feeling better and putting on pounds in your second trimester.

Ondansetron is the generic version of Zofran and I asked my consultant the same question and she said no medication can be described as safe in pregnancy as no pregnant women will submit their pregnant bodies to a medical study (understandably!). I am now 33+4 and my little girl is very healthy and while I've lost a lot of weight in this prehnancy she is measuring large for GA, so very like my first.

Ondansetron is Zofran hun. Its just the generic name for zofran. Even though theres a lawsuit, id say its more of a money maker. I took it both pregnancies and my babies came out fine. Youve got to look at whether the benefits outweigh the risk with ANY medication. If youre miserable and need to eat for baby, take it. My advice is try to only take it when u really need it, not on a regular basis. Stop as soon as symptoms ease up. Lots of water too.

I have terrible morning sickness and I was given a prescription for ondansetron 4mg which is the generic version of zofran. I'm scared to take it because of the possible side effects and the warnings I've seen on TV. I don't want to take any risks when it comes to my baby. Any thoughts on this?

I take ondansetron. It is a nausea and vomiting that is okay for pregnant woman. I am 21 weeks and have been taking it since 15 weeks. I would ask your doctor about giving them to you. They work so good for me! I have had terrible nausea and vomiting also and know how much that *****! Make sure and keep drinking water, no matter what!
