At first I didn't want him to get tubes either, but I think it is definetly better than him being on antibiotics constantly. It is scary thinking about your little one having "surgery" but I think in the long run it will be best. In terms of other things causing the infections, they drew blood to see if there were other problems, which there weren't.

Hi all, wondering if you have come across information indicating that flagyl can treat babesia at the same time it's treating Lyme. I understand it's also a antiparasitic, so not sure if that counts. Iam having a terrible toothache the dentist said it is my wisdom tooth growing below my other tooth.She prescribed penicillin due to infections and I have a fever. I am scared to take it thinking that it may affect my babies. I am pregnant with twins.My first pregnancy ended in m/c at 5 1/2/ months.She said its ok for pregnant women to take.I am still taking my progestorones.

My 4 yr.old son had an allergic reaction to Omnicef. Hives all over and swollen hands, arms and feet. It's been 18 days and still gets a slight case of the hives . Within the last week( 3 times) he's had leg pain(muscel pain) joint pain. He has a hard time walking, usually the next day he can, it lasts anywhere from 12-24 hours. The 3 times he's had the leg pain he's either been swimming or riding a bike, took him to the hospital, blood work, x-rays and urine all came back fine.
I took her to her pediatrician that same day where they did a strep test which came back negative, prescribed omnicef and sent us home. The next day her temperature just kept skyrocketing, getting up to 106. That night I took her to the ER at Children's in Dallas where they ran another strep test, mono, flu, and cbc. Her mono, strep, and flu all came back negative. Her white blood count was at 21. They gave her a shot of rocephin, told us to continue the omnicef, sent us home.
My child was 1 1/2 months old when she developed a "cold" that consisted of a stuffy nose for about 1 1/2 months. After 2 bouts with antibiotics(amoxicillin & omnicef) it seemed that we were in the clear. Then about 3-4 weeks later she came down with a terrible cold that doesn't seem to want to go away and the doctors said there was nothing they could do for it.
I have swollen eyelids that come and go, almost like hives, but rarely itch. Can be one or several. On omnicef for sinus infection, but doctor doesn't think this is causing it. I cannot take Rifampin because it contains Omnicef which I am allergic to, so I should be ok right?
My sodium level was low and my white blood count and granulocytes were very high and my lymphocytes were low. The Dr. put me on Omnicef for 10 days. I went back to the doctor a few days ago, and everything else turned out normal except now I had high Calcium and High Total Blood Protein. My Total Protein was 10.6. I am worried about the possibility of a Parathyroid Tumor with Cancer or something serious.
I have taken 10 days of Omnicef and most recently(this week) i just finished 250mg Zpack but I still have the discharge. Back in November I notice the gland behind my right ear was swollen. For the past week, my neck is tight under my ears and jaw and under my armpits. Today I noticed the gland in my right groin is rock hard and the size of a large pea. I cannot feel the left groin gland. It does not hurt to touch but it makes it uncomfortable to sit and have some minor testicular pain.

Most likely Amoxycillin,this may last around 3 weeks.Best avoided in the future penicillin group.

hey my 11 month old daughter was prescibed penicillin on saturday night. today she woke up with a huge red rash covering her body whoch the doctor seems to think is an allergic reaction but he wants me to keep an eye on the rash over the next 24 hours to be sure!! i just wanted to know how long this rash usually lasts for and if theres anything that can speed the process up?? its her first birthday on sunday and im really hoping she will be better and her rash will be gone for it!
I tested positive for Syphillis and my doctor gave me a shot of penicillin. The next day I felt my scrotum was on fire. I could not get the pain to stop, as the day continued, the pain got stronger. I took 3 Advils and went to sleep. This morning, I had a slight pain...could it be because of the shot?
The allergist got a sinus x-ray and it showed a pretty yucky sinus infection. Once again, a round of Omnicef for 14 days made him better, but when I took him back for recheck and repeat x-ray, it showed he still had a mild sinus infection on the left side...So what is happening is the antibiotics have been getting him better, but not all the way, so it just comes right back, even if we keep him on antibiotics for 2-3 weeks at a time. He is set up to start allergy injections next week.
