You can try omeprazole it is a over the counter med you can buy at walmart but there is also a med called zegrid otc which is way better it is 2 meds combined into one and the first one allows the acid reducing med to work by blocking the stomach acid from breaking it down before its completely absorbed. Its a great med it cost aprox $15 for a box.
I'm taking omeprazole(prilosec) and have been since I was about 16weeks I couldn't eat or drink even water it was so bad I didn't wanna take any medicine either but it was so bad and the Dr assured me it was safe.

I take omeprazole 20mg and have been taking it for over two years, I still get the bloating and stomach pain, and also pain just beneath the bottom of lef rib cage, about 4-5 inches from center, and I know it is caused by bloating, or excess air, because when it happens, it is about two hours or so after dinner or if I drink a lot of water. It seems to help if I eat small servings throughout the day, rather than a large dinner, eating breakfast or a light lunch does not trigger it, only dinner.

Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?

I have been practicing exposure training (having [panic attacks) purposely by going into Walmart and making myself stay in the store for 45 minutes to an hour. It is hell I tell you. An it's not that hard for them to go look in the back. They always have one or two back there.. if they Don't have it on the shelves then it's always good to ask. Because most of the time they have some in the back. So there's no need to be rude....

NEXT, go to any store with a pharmacy (Walmart works) and get a box of Omeprazole (generic for Prilosec) and THEN get a bottle of Magnesium supplements (about 400mg a tablet). If you can handle TUMS, you can get those too as backup. On an empty stomach, an hour before your first meal of the day, take 1 Omeprazole tablet and 1 Magnesium tablet.
Last month my gastro doctor upgraded my omeprazole from 20mg to 40mg - mainly because my insurance company doesn't cover omeprazole 20mg anymore because it is available over the counter. I have been desperately trying to quit Omeprazole for the last 5 years but have had so much problem with extreme acid release it seems I'll be with it for my life. Of course noone knows yet the result of taking omeprazole for a lifetime, mice had cancer after weeks but human might as well after decades. I can't replace omeprazole with ranitidine, as the latter doesn't seem to work at all. I've been able to lower the dose to about one 20mg in two days but not more.
I have to stop omeprazole two weeks before a blood test to see if i have coeliac. Previous blood tests shoe that i'm anaemic & have low vitamin b12 levels. Does anyone know how long omeprazole take before it gets out of your system.

My doctor says I have esophagitis, and prescribed for me 20 mg omeprazole for 4 weeks.
I am taking it now for 6 days and don't see any improvement yet.
The drug reviews say it usually takes up to 4 days to feel better. Is this the case, or may it take longer time to see results?
