omeprazole use in pregnancy

Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Anyone here experienced the same?

I am a woman in her late 30's. I have been taking omeprazole for 2 years now. I was instructed to take it by a ENT doctor for healing of my esophagus due to acid erosion(scarring) caused by silent reflux. (Diagnosed via endoscopy) I have noticed a decrease in hunger, lack of "growling" of the stomach. Has anyone else experienced this? Is long term use of omeprazole really safe?

My doc told me to use tums and pepcid. Also benadryl is very effective for anxiety in pregnancy and was recommended to me by doc, helped me a lot, only took when i needed to.

Last ten days with omeprazole I get some headaches and sometimes I feel white bubbles in urine like calcium. Yesterday I drink little green tea and it made my chest horrible.

i think there is a slight risk of eptopic pregnancy but the risk is very small, so i see no gd reason to termanate the pregnancy unless you dont want a baby

I've had acid reflux my whole pregnancy and I'll be 36 weeks Tuesday. Tums worked the first week. DOctor told me to use Zantac once a day and then if it stops working to do it twice a day. It has worked great.

Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?

I am not an athlete but when I do exercise can go up to 180 without any problem. sometimes I use Omeprazole(for GERD) and I mention that in the specialist office and he said nothing is wrong with that. also my blood pressure was normal. he gave me some pills for stress which I did not use(doctor also said that they are not necessary) tonight I again had the same experience. my heart rate is again 50bpm when I type this.

Following a valve replacement and triple bypass I was discharged from Hospital with a number of drugs and a new one being Omeprazole. I did not know why it was prescribed but after a number of months taking it I decided after discussion with my Doctor to stop taking it.
