I am experiencing involuntary gas release. I will feel little gas bubbles in my anus and they release themselves and I have no waring or control over them. I lost my job because of this. I can’t go to any restaurant or social gathering. I live secluded. This has officially ruined my life. I’m a single mother with two children. Don't know what you're working on. Time release is slow release. When I managed health food stores the saying about time release was, expensive urine or bowel movements, since the body evacuates before the stuff comes out of the capsule.

I have been desperately trying to quit Omeprazole for the last 5 years but have had so much problem with extreme acid release it seems I'll be with it for my life. Of course noone knows yet the result of taking omeprazole for a lifetime, mice had cancer after weeks but human might as well after decades. I can't replace omeprazole with ranitidine, as the latter doesn't seem to work at all. I've been able to lower the dose to about one 20mg in two days but not more.

I have been on 40mg of omeprazole (time release) for about 5 or 6 weeks now, and over the past 2 or 3 weeks I have noticed that I have a recurring cough. It feels like I have severe "tickle" in my throat right at that soft indentation above my clavicles. I'm 21 and I suffer too much gas after eating mid day meal that I've to exercise at evening to release gas .same problem with dinner I've walk for 2 hours after eating cause of bloating and gas.. I have a question, and need some advice. I recently hurt my should on the job, August 31, 2009. I saw an Orthopedic Surgeon and he told me I had cartilage damage that needed to be repaired surgically. I had the surgery done on Sept. 22, 2009. The recovery went excellent. I have no pain, and physical therapy is a piece of cake. I am able to do everything they want with no pain. I have full range of motion in my shoulder, and 20 degrees past in a couple of movements.

It is easy to find information regarding drug-drug interactions for omeprazole (Prilosec) and atorvastatin (Lipitor). Does this mean that the interaction is like taking a higher dose of the statin, which would provide benefit for someone like me who only takes a low dose (10mg atorvastatin daily) and has no statin tolerance issues?

At first my wife had urinary infection, few weeks later she started to have fever and stomach problems, the docter told her it was a gastroenteritis. My personal feeling, and sense, is that feces cake up on the side of my colon somewhere, and sits there while normal ingestion bypasses it. Then, eventually, just before the release, movements and gasses become extremely stinky. I hardly ever have diarrhea, cramps (except at release), abdominal pain, fever or nausea, or any other IBS symptoms. Naturally, I tend to gain some weight during this buildup.

Hello everyone. I was just wondering is it normal for the throat to release a croaking sound when you're stomach is trying to release air, but not burp? This happens to me quite often especially after drinking liquids which i assume i swallow air when i drink. Also the croaking sound happens after burping, as if releasing all the leftover air in the stomach. It isnt really a problem as it does not hurt or bring other complications.

I started on some generic omeprazole today - bought a box of 14 of 20 mg delay release tablets. I was told I could also take famotidine. I will see what happens over the next week or so . No referral to a GI doc yet for 24 hour pH testing.

ve seen my local doctor a couple of times - the first time she prescribed Omeprazole and I had a battery of blood tests for coeliac, lactose intolerance, h pylori etc. All of the tests came back normal. She even booked me in for a UV scan and found nothing of concern. I've tried a few herbal remedies, windeze, activated charcoal etc. I do notice that slow-release probiotics relieve about 30% of the bloating, which makes me wonder if this is a bacterial imbalance issue?

Two years ago I was put on omeprazole, had an endoscopy done, and a pH level probe test. Endoscopy came back normal. Omeprazole made me feel dizzy, nauseated, and out of it. Stopped taking it slowly. I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.

Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?

My doctor says I have esophagitis, and prescribed for me 20 mg omeprazole for 4 weeks. I am taking it now for 6 days and don't see any improvement yet. The drug reviews say it usually takes up to 4 days to feel better. Is this the case, or may it take longer time to see results? Thanks.
