Hi i am on 40mg of Omeprazole for acid reflux. Has anyone here had side effects from it like loose stools? For the past two weeks or so my bowel movements have been rather odd...loose in the morning but ok towards the end of the day...no blood, but causing soreness around my anus afterwards....

Does anyone know if permanent loose stools a common side effect of the regular intake of Omeprazole? I have no other side effects whatsoever.

Everyone tells me it can take a few months to figure out the correct dosage, my worry is that if 50mcg is not enough and I take more, is that going to cause an increase in these side effects? According to WebMd if thyroid meds are the correct dosage there are no side effects.

Here it is January 2014 and I am pretty sure I have one of the possible side affects of taking omeprazole, severe itchy skin. Twice in the last month I stopped taking it for a few days and believe I even had a withdrawal side affect. This was when I was just falling to sleep it felt like I could not breath. The first time I went to the ER and had various test performed which all came back negative. The second time occurred about 4 days ago when I stopped taking omeprazole again.

Hi. I'm on my 12th week. I've been diagnosed before with GERD. Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. Have searched everywhere for info on side effects- what is it? is it due to INF? do I see an MD? what kind of MD or Dentist? Hello, Yesterday I was given Neulast for the first time and I am experiencing some flu like side effects...achy (sp?), low grade fever and chills. I did some research on the web ( danger Will Robinson) and the web pages I looked at said I should contact my dr's office. I am planning on doing so tomorrow morning ( I wasn't going to before I read about the side effects on the web). My question is have any of you had similar side effects and how long did they last.

By terrible do you mean side effects or no relief? This med can start helping with in a couple of days depending on what you're being treated for.If you have an ulcer it can weeks to clear up and you may need to be on a double dose of this med.
