Does anyone know if permanent loose stools a common side effect of the regular intake of Omeprazole? I have no other side effects whatsoever.
I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.
Does anyone suffer from bloating after taking losec/omeprazole, am taking 1 twice a day (20mg each)?

I was diagnosed with gastroparesis (unknown origin) back in April 2010 by a gastrolenterologist. Luckily for me the main symptoms have been reflux with a little bloating. I try hard to watch what I eat, which helps inconsistently. He also put me on Omeprazole and Sucrafate with also inconsistent relief. I saw him yesterday and he would like to try further options to relieve the symptoms. He suggested either Reglan or a Botox injection to the nerve.
I am going to have to wait another 2 weeks for results and am back taking the omeprazole but my stomach is constanlty bloating up after eating. Is this a side effect of the tablets?? i have been taking these tablets 6 weeks in total but i am stil suffering severly with bloating and my stomach is constanlty rumbling. Does this sound like h pylori or does anyone else suffer sever bloating from these omeprazole tablets.
Here it is January 2014 and I am pretty sure I have one of the possible side affects of taking omeprazole, severe itchy skin. Twice in the last month I stopped taking it for a few days and believe I even had a withdrawal side affect. This was when I was just falling to sleep it felt like I could not breath. The first time I went to the ER and had various test performed which all came back negative. The second time occurred about 4 days ago when I stopped taking omeprazole again.
ve had chest pain, difficulty breathing, incredible stomach bloating/distention (even after just drinking a glass of water), burping, reflux, and heartburn. My main concern is the bloating and difficulty breathing. I can barely function on a day to day basis. I eat little bites all day long because I can't eat a full meal or I start hyperventilating. I have had an EGD which showed a polyp (was removed) and some mild esophagitis. I don't have H.
My wife in the 2nd week of her 6th chemo session of carboplatin, paclitaxel and avastin. Most of the side effects are predictable and have been increasing in severity over the sessions. For the last few days she has been subject to very painful occasions of bloating and severe intestinal gas pain. Don't find these in any of the listings of side effects other than "abdominal pain".
Anyone know if this is a common side effect and what can be done about it.
Hi. I'm on my 12th week. I've been diagnosed before with GERD. Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Anyone here experienced the same?
THOUGHT I WAS GOING CRAZY BEFORE I FOUND YOU GUY. SIDE EFFECTS MUCH MORE THAN WE HAD BEEN LED TO BELIEVE.PERSONALLY HAVE THE BLURRY VISION, ENHANCED JOINT PAIN, SWEATS, AND SLEEP NOT GOOD. Thanks v. much - I was a little concerned as i'd read the antibiotic had a long list of side effects and would normally only be used as a last resort after other meds fail? And wasn't sure about the omeprazole for peptic ulcers either but all makes a little more sense now. Keeping the pills down might be a problem but will give it a go and see if it makes a difference.
Ive also done a colonoscopy and ct. Ive been given Omeprazole which helps me sleep since it stops the bloating. The doctor doeant know what caused the gastritis (not taking pills /alcohol).
I have a few questions: Does the gastritis itself cause bloating, or high levels of acid which cause gastritis(Im trying to understand if what caused the gastritis is still there since I dont know what that is). Secondly, a few days after taking the Omeprazole I started having a feaver and acute diahrea.
