Avatar f tn I have been taking lysine for 15 years and it has always prevented me from getting mouth ulcers and fever blisters however in the last three to four months it is not working anymore does anyone have any idea why and also could my body have built up a tolerance to it and should I quit taking it for a while?
1348086 tn?1370783185 I know my Cymbalta is not working anymore. I am at 120 mg per day and my depression is so overwhelming I cannot think clearly. No appetite, crying, fatigued. My doctor, around three months ago, suggested I be put on Effexor along with slowly tapering off the Cymbalta, but I had a very bad reaction with taking both meds and we decided to just keep me on the Cymbalta. Something else has GOT to work. I can't live like this. Has this happened to anyone else?
Avatar n tn Green or black olives? And I've been taking Magnesium Oxide all this time!! - I will try the Mag. Chloride for sure. I had a fundoplication because of the reflux/GERD that I've had for so many years and it seems not to be working anymore. - Prilosec doesn't help me much anymore. And I've got boxes of Tagamet here and there and take baking soda from time to time. Anything to stop this horrible pain in my stomach.
Avatar n tn I've been on 100mg for 17 years. The past few months, not only does it not work but I am also developing caffeine sensitivity and tremors. Dose increase made it worse.
Avatar n tn I had an EGD for my acid reflux and after fasting all night, I still had food in my stomach. My doctor ordered a "stomach emptying" test that lasted 4 hours. After 4 hours, I still had food in my stomach, but I don't know how much. I'm waiting for my doctor to call. I don't have the usual symptoms (nausea, vomiting, weight loss). In fact I have no symptoms at all. I take Omeprazole for acid reflux/hiatal hernia, and I take Synthroid for hypothyroidism.
Avatar m tn Last month my gastro doctor upgraded my omeprazole from 20mg to 40mg - mainly because my insurance company doesn't cover omeprazole 20mg anymore because it is available over the counter. So I have been taking 40mg once a day for about a month. Lately my stomach has been feeling a little queasy with bloated gas. I'm wondering if I'm getting too much omeprazole and may have too little acid.
Avatar f tn Hello Iv been on paroxetine 20mg for a few years for my depression/headaches but I just feel like it isn't working anymore.. Does this happen with paroxetine? Also the sweating at night due to these is getting worse! Is there anything I can do to help? Do other antidepressants do this? Why does it do this?
Avatar m tn I've been on lanosprazole for nearly 2 years now, it seems to work in cycles, I feel good for a few months and then have really bad food regurgitation for another few months. Since January this year I've been constantly regurgitating food and burping, I don't really feel burning but my throat is sore and dry and I've got phlegm building in my throat, I often feel bitter tasting fluids in my mouth and feel food passing back up to my oesophagus even after a few hours after eating.
1534233 tn?1523388856 I have had many tests on my heart over the past 10 months, all come back as normal. I do have occasional ventricular bigeminy. My doctor says the chest pains and burning sensations are probably gastric or maybe caused by anxiety. He prescribed omeprazole in July, I took 10 and saw no change although I did blame an attack of palpitations on them. I have started on Omeprazole again, for 4 days now (20 mg once a day).
Avatar f tn this is good news......i just saw the doctor today...a real good throat and ear guy.....he scheduled an endoscopy for monday.. i think its acid reflux?....a week ago my doctor up here prescribed omeprazole for it...she said it sounded like acid reflux..that i may have scare tissue....i will say before tx i had some trouble swallowing had to have the heimlich maneuver twice before tx... never really found out why...then during tx i was ofter having trouble...my swallowing process was backwards.
Avatar m tn Hi, I am 53 and have had on/off GERD symptoms- sometimes severe- for about 17 years. About 2 years ago I had an endoscopy done and was diagnosed with chronic mild esophagitis and they gave me 40 mg of omeprazole for 8 weeks. After that, I started on 20 mg every day and have been on that dose regularly and still had a day or two every couple of weeks with a GERD flair up. About 3 weeks ago I developed some lower GI issues with constipation, nausea, cramps, and was pretty sick for 2 weeks.
