omeprazole for infants side effects

Hi i am on 40mg of Omeprazole for acid reflux. Has anyone here had side effects from it like loose stools? For the past two weeks or so my bowel movements have been rather odd...loose in the morning but ok towards the end of the day...no blood, but causing soreness around my anus afterwards....

Are there any side effect of taking vitamins(e.g. vitamin D+calcium) for long time as 3 months or more. Does "Omeprazole 20mg" cause any harmful effect in long term use ?

ve seen that the most common script is written for 20mg a day for two weeks. I have been on this stuff for the past 6 months and the last 2 months has been a rollercoaster for me. I have experienced painful gas, constipation, loss of appetite and have lost 10lbs in the past month and have not changed my diet in any way. My gums have been extremely sore for the past month which makes it extremely difficult to eat anything solid. My sinuses are throbing and I am now getting headaches.

There can be side-effects with the use of PPIs - no drug is without side-effects unfortunately. They can include changes to bone density - more ease of fracture - and anemic states due to loss of B12 uptake. Changes in bowel habits and loose stools can be a result of the use of PPIs. If you cut down on acid, you cut down on the amount of food that's thoroughly digested and able to be absorbed. Those materials will cause changes in the output of the digestive system in a number of ways.

Been in the ER 3 times for this concern. They say it could be anxiety? Is it possible for this to be a side effect from Omeprazole? And how long does it take to get out of your system? I have heard it could take 3 months and I have heard it won't take longer than a week??

Hi. I'm on my 12th week. I've been diagnosed before with GERD. Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Anyone here experienced the same?

I started taking omeprazole for acid reflux but stopped it after reading about the side effects,anemia as it takes out vitamin b12,broken bones as it takes out calcium and a risk of severe cold infections as it takes out vitamin c.A local doctor links acid reflux with anemia,so I started taking multi vits with iron and the acid reflux disappeared.

I feel straight up like I have a demon inside me pushing acid and food to the edge of my throat. I feel like I'm choking to death, seriously! Does it get better after taking the PPI's (Omeprazole)? I am against taking any kind of medication and I have refrained from taking medication for years for such things as headaches, or any type of aches or pain but this seems to me life or death. I am seriously choking when I lay down.

Omeprazole DR. 20 mg helped me a great deal for years, and I had no side effects. I finally had to have surgery, but was taking 80mg a day prior to the surgery with no side effects. I'm glad it worked for you. Important or severe side effects are not common. How you take it is very important. t answer other that to say do a search here and/or on the web for side effects of omepraole. If that is a possible side effect discuss with your prescribing doctor you may be able to get help from some other medication.

By terrible do you mean side effects or no relief? This med can start helping with in a couple of days depending on what you're being treated for.If you have an ulcer it can weeks to clear up and you may need to be on a double dose of this med.

How much time we need to continue this medication? Any known side effects of Levipil for infants?

I had to get off of Prilosec.. I had really weird side effects from it including migraines and a depression like state. I am now on aciphex but only taking it when I absolutely need it and not as prescribed because I too have SIBO and you dont want the antacid to take away too much of your stomach acids or you will end up worsening your SIBO.

Omeprazole is for acid reflux - it shouldn't have any effect on your TSH, and you shouldn't have any side effects from stopping it, other than possibly more acid reflux. I took Aciphex for many years, then switched to omeprazole, when insurance refused to pay for Aciphex...... had to go to the 40 mg caps for some time. Once my thyroid levels began to come in line, I stopped the omeprazole.......

i would just like to say that my doctor prescribe me omeprazole and as you may or may not know, omeprazole has a lot of side effects including headaches and diarrhea... so now to the details of the question, me and my girlfriend had sex about three and a half weeks ago to be exact, for the first time. i used protection in the intercourse but she didn't used protection when she gave me oral. so i been paranoid because today i feel headaches and that feeling of getting a cold.

Saw an endo doc and she told me to not take the Nexium or Omeprazole (Prilosec) due to the possible side effects. Called my doc the other day because I have had stomach pain and feeling of nausea. He tells me to take the Omeprazole!!! Next day, no better so asked the pharmacist if I could take it 3 times a day instead of twice. He told me I was already on twice the dose and should only be taking it once a day (20 mg).

I put the new ring in on May 22 and I feel like I may be having some increased side effects since then. The first few weeks I was on it I had a lot of cramping that felt like menstrual cramps, but for the past couple of weeks I've had a lot of nausea. I work at a grocery store and one day I had to run to the back because I thought I was going to throw up; I didn't and I was fine the next day.
