I developed really bad gas during treatment and it stuck around after eot and got worse. Now I'm having bad diarrhea and nausea and think it may be due to the Omeprazole. I take 40 mg daily and am thinking about going down to 20 mg. I found a study that says Omeprazole can cause SIBO (bacteria) in 50% of patients. I can't get into a gastro doc for another 2 months and think the diarrhea and inherent pain and nausea are driving my BP way up.
Following a valve replacement and triple bypass I was discharged from Hospital with a number of drugs and a new one being Omeprazole. I did not know why it was prescribed but after a number of months taking it I decided after discussion with my Doctor to stop taking it. A few months later through the night I got this terrible chest pain on a scale of 1-10 I guess it was 7-8.
At first my wife had urinary infection, few weeks later she started to have fever and stomach problems, the docter told her it was a gastroenteritis. I bought her omeprazole and gave her amoxicilline, that worked. She felt fine, but few weeks later she had urinary infection symptoms again. The doctor gave her antibiotics again, that helped her.
I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.
is omeprazole a nercotic pain killer? i know some medications that may b addicting so i thought i would double check..also i had seen that u can take in an i.v is this true and if so how?

Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?
The best thing to do is go on 1/2 price day (the last day of the sale) and get a ton of clothes for cheap!
Its a PPI manufactures nightmare, since this works for all reasons of GERD from what I read. Truly amazing. Cheap too.
You can switch to this daily and ween off it when your T3 gets higher while possibly also on a GERD diet for several months and take digestive enzymes. You can tell when you slowly get better. My LES valve was fried......I choked on acid just laying down, they said surgery was the only cure for me......BS!
Last month my gastro doctor upgraded my omeprazole from 20mg to 40mg - mainly because my insurance company doesn't cover omeprazole 20mg anymore because it is available over the counter. So I have been taking 40mg once a day for about a month. Lately my stomach has been feeling a little queasy with bloated gas. I'm wondering if I'm getting too much omeprazole and may have too little acid.
I'm currently taking lexapro for anxiety & depression and Omeprazole for Gerd and just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant. My doctor said the benefIt's outweigh the risks but I'm reading some really scary defects online and I'm wondering if anyone here has had good/bad experiences with them?
your billirubin levels usually rise when the liver is having trouble producing bile or bile thickens. this can be caused by a couple of things, most often it is a sign of dissapearing bile ducts in the liver. when you body is unable to process the bile your total and conjicated billi levels will go up. you can tell when your billi lever are rising if, you start to experience itchiness, jaundice of the eyes or skin. itching will be the first sign.
I have been desperately trying to quit Omeprazole for the last 5 years but have had so much problem with extreme acid release it seems I'll be with it for my life. Of course noone knows yet the result of taking omeprazole for a lifetime, mice had cancer after weeks but human might as well after decades. I can't replace omeprazole with ranitidine, as the latter doesn't seem to work at all. I've been able to lower the dose to about one 20mg in two days but not more.
I have to stop omeprazole two weeks before a blood test to see if i have coeliac. Previous blood tests shoe that i'm anaemic & have low vitamin b12 levels. Does anyone know how long omeprazole take before it gets out of your system.

My doctor says I have esophagitis, and prescribed for me 20 mg omeprazole for 4 weeks.
I am taking it now for 6 days and don't see any improvement yet.
The drug reviews say it usually takes up to 4 days to feel better. Is this the case, or may it take longer time to see results?

Hi there need some help I have been on omeprazole for 2years for acid I felt coming up my throat everything has been ok untill Wednesday had this burning feeling in my stomach had a drink on tuesday on a empty stomach done this a couple times now anyway I took 1 omeprazole and it was still sore phoned the doctor Thursday got to see the nurse she said take 2 omeprazole for a week see if it settles down it's calmed down a bit is this a ulcer doctor never told me if I had 1 thanks if someone c
smoking is bad period. cheap or expensive. put them down while you can. its totally not worth it. i didnt realize how rude it is to smoke around non smokers. when someone lights up next to me now i get really angry. plus dude, when you smoke you smell horrible.
but yeah smoking cheap **** is probably worse.
And this boat was NOT cheap. Anyways, so for my birthday which is in August too I figured he would spend the same on me since its for my birthday and anniversary and make up for Mother's Day. But he didn't. He bought me a $100 purse that is the ugliest thing in the world. I think I am more hurt at the fact that he bought me something I don't like at all.
