Avatar m tn I have taken calcium and D under doctor supervision for years, but I have endocrine issues and need supplementation. Calcium will also not absorb in large doses. It is better to spread out, if you even need a larger doses.
Avatar f tn 12(hypo) and fell to .46 in March(hyper). The Endo diagnosed me with Hashimotos Thyroiditis and vitamin D Deficiency Disease. So after many many years of thinking I was just a hypochondriac I have a diagnosis that really fits my basically lifelong symptoms. I currently take 100mcg of Synthroid and Omeprazole 20 daily. My regular GP wanted me to take HBP meds and anti anxiety drugs. I asked to please allow me to complete further blood tests as my BP has always been very low.
460830 tn?1347219306 Morning - Lisinopril, fish oil cap, Vitamin C, Calcium chew (with Vitamin D and Vitamin K added), Flonase. Noon - Multivitamin (Centrum Silver generic) and Vitamin A cap. Night - Zyrtec, fish oil, Vitamin C, and Calcium chew. Right now I'm getting scheduled for cancer surgery again, so I'm taking Lortab or Tylenol for pain, and I'm supposed to be starting Omeprazole, too, for heartburn - I'm just trying to decide when is the best times for me to take all of these...
Avatar f tn I was told by my endocrinologist the other day that every day I take omeprazole, my medication won’t help me much. We’re talking about vitamin D calcium magnesium my T3 and my T4 medication my Crestor so on and so forth. And it shows I mean I have aged 10 years in the last five. At any rate I wanted to know what the best way is to test stomach acid levels? I have been 10 days without omeprazole it took a long time for me to get this far.

Avatar f tn When doing some reading it came up that a vitamin b-12 defiency (leading to anemia) can be caused by taking omeprazole long term... I have taken omeprazole 20mg 1x a day for over a year as a preventative measure since I take so much indomethacin (I don't have GERD) So.... could I be vitamin b-12 deficient due to taking omeprazole?? I also read that b-12 deficiencies can cause canker sores... which I have begun to have again (I haven't had one for four years) Anyways...
Avatar m tn All that has shown up for me is the gallstones, some mild colon inflammation on a CT scan and some larger than normal lymph nodes in the retroperitoneum and some vitamin deficiencies mild vitamin d and b12 and a very moderately severe phosphorus deficiency. Anyway, thanks for the helpful comments.
Avatar f tn Do not worry about overloading me, or giving too little, all information is welcome. I ask here because of the similarities and issues that iron, vitamin d, and thyroid have as well as their correlations. If anyone knows of a better place to post (I did check other forums, didn't see any regular posting places), I would gladly post there. Thank you!
Avatar f tn For almost 2 years, I have been, and continue to be, treated for Fibro, Osteoarthritis, Senile Osteoporosis (daily injection of Forteo), high blood pressure and low/none vitamin D, and periods of low white cells. Was checked for the usual, RA, Lupus etc. Nothing showed up. Previous health-worked fulltime around 50 hours a week or more, constantly going and doing, did many family dinners, active runner, won divisional 5k first place and masters and weight trained. BMI is around 20.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know the the relationship between Vitamin D and MS and if you take supplements, will it help prevent relapses? I was just reading something about this from a report from the UK--and their research suggests that it does seem to help. I also wonder if you can give vitamin supplements to children/teens and if that will help to prevent the disease later in life.
1134609 tn?1269272200 I've been tested and have come up with a deficiancy of Vitamin D was told that Vitamin D is like the mortar between the bricks of your colon wall, if you have a deficiancy then the toxins can easily slip through the gaps out your colon and into your blood stream. First stop your liver, then onto your heart and mind. Once your liver starts to drop then it's harder for you to metabolise other vitamins also only making things worse.
Avatar n tn I am on 5 mg of prednisone and cellcept as well. Can I ask why you stopped taking the cellcept? My Dr is trying to lower me off of the prednisone all together and just stay on the cellcept. I was on 10 mg of pred 4 weeks ago, down to 7.5 mg 2 weeks ago and just got reduced to 5 mg. My numbers are staying in great shape, but I am still holding steady on the cellcept. I have been battling AIH for a year and a half. Nothing has worked w/the prednisone accept for cellcept.
Avatar f tn In the report issued today, the committee reviewed studies on the metabolism and physiology of calcium and vitamin D and their influence on health. Dietary reference intakes were determined using the estimated average requirement (EAR; the level at which 50% of the population's needs are met), recommended dietary allowance (level at which 95% of the population's needs are met), tolerable upper intake level, and adequate intake level.
Avatar f tn Have your Vitamin D checked. I also heard that tanning beds do not give you the Vitamin D so not sure about a sunlamp. Coral Calcium has Vitamin D3 so it's a good source as well as most fish, especially salmon. Vitamin D deficiencies can cause serious problems. Mine was just tested at 40 and it was 11.8, well below normal and it took months of arthritis pains, gout, paresthesias, four doctors, etc. for one doctor to say, "Haven't they ever tested your Vitamin D?
