I wonder whether I can just take Sulfasalazine and avoid Naproxen (pain killer) and Omeprazole (acid reducer) if pain is within my endurance level.
I really dont want to upset my stomach by flooding with drugs. By the way, can the disease damage any joints in the later years even though drugs are being taken to control it. What are the percentage of recovery or is there any case of having full recovery.
I was told that i needed to centralise the pain and through the exercises and guidance from private treatments and NHS i managed to achieve this mostly.
Although there is obviously still issues with my lower back the main problem is now my right thigh at the front. At first it starts with a nagging pain which can quickly build into muscle spasm's, losing balance and eventually falling over as i cant weight bear correctly. I see an Osteopath regularly. Exercise daily.
Very long story short - I have been off work with back issue for 5 months and hence have been on gabapentin and Naproxen ( 1000mg per day !) was going for a spinal nerve block procedure jan 5th day before started with these throat symptoms that have gone from bad to v v bad ever since. Have lost 1.5 stone in weight in less than 6 weeks, Have tried to get in with GP which has been impossible - have suffered extreme anxiety with it all as docs I have seen have said its vioral and will go away ???
Two months ago as a pedestrian hit by a drunk driver suffering no broken bones (parking lot at noon, low speed) but severe right knee and leg injuries. Hydrocodone taken every 4 hours the 500mg tab with Naproxen twice daily. Two weeks ago started having pain in upper right quadrant radiating through to back. Terrible headaches, severe pain through injured knee area with great upwelling of bruising continued through physical therapy. Waves of nausea.
At this time my stools were totally random, they went from runny to solid, dark to normal, slimey to dry, never constant. I went back to the doctor who told me to stop the Naproxen and put me on Omeprazole. Since then the pains have calmed down and I get what I call flare up days, which are quite often, I would say half the time I feel ok, and half that I don't.
t give me anything that was dangerous but I researched it and some websites say not to take it during pregnancy ?
on day 10....today my doctor prescribed me Naproxen for my chronic back pain. I know I could search this, but would rather ask anyone with any experience with it's use. Good idea or not to use after 10 days clean. I dont even know if it's a "mild" narcotic or not, however I believe it's similar to Aleeve. Advice? thanks in advance.
00 PM, then in the afternoon the next day, I'd still have the equivalent of 1 unit of Naproxen in my system due to half-life metabolization. This would mean that if I drank alcohol that afternoon, it is the same as if I had just taken 1 naproxen on top of whatever I'm drinking. Yes? I would think so because the liver still has that unit to metabolize on top of the alcohol you are now consuming.
My pulse is exceptionally weak and my blood pressure is 156/90 after taking one (1) 500mg Naproxen and an amphetamine. I went and got my blood pressure checked, as well as my resting heart rate. The nurse never actually tried to feel my pulse, though. So I came home and I am very worried about how weak my pulse is. Has anybody heard weather or not taking Naproxen with an amphetamine can be harmful because it is not in the drug facts and I cannot find anything about it online either.
P should also have prescribed you a gastro-resistant capsule alongside the naproxen, something like Omeprazole to counteract any possible internal bleeds. I was prescribed Naproxen and Omaprazole last week for a smashed up ankle with major tissue damage. I had to stop taking both after waking up for the first 3 nights practically choking on vomit in the back of my throat/nasal passage.
Naproxen is similar to Motrin or Nuprin or any of the other anti-inflammatory agents that are used to relieve menstrual pain, and it is very safe and works very well. It is my number one choice to prescribe for dysmenorrhea.
If you are at the point in life that you are "trying" you could still use it during your periods-- just not during ovulation.

s patients usually have low or no acid which makes me concerned about taking this. And I read about ensuring you space out when you take omeprazole. I also have low ferritin and was taking iron, which I saw online is contradicted.

I have been on oxycontin 40mil and oxycodone 10/325 for 13 years . I did a random urine screen for the second time in 4 months and tested positive for marijuana and didn't touch the stuff and never failed one . At first my wife had urinary infection, few weeks later she started to have fever and stomach problems, the docter told her it was a gastroenteritis. I bought her omeprazole and gave her amoxicilline, that worked. She felt fine, but few weeks later she had urinary infection symptoms again. The doctor gave her antibiotics again, that helped her.
Following a valve replacement and triple bypass I was discharged from Hospital with a number of drugs and a new one being Omeprazole. I did not know why it was prescribed but after a number of months taking it I decided after discussion with my Doctor to stop taking it. A few months later through the night I got this terrible chest pain on a scale of 1-10 I guess it was 7-8.
I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.
Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?
Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Anyone here experienced the same?
t correct the underlying problem, but it can alleviate a good deal of the pain associated with ulcers by reducing the amount of stomach acid (the actual substance causing the pain). Omeprazole and other PPIs can and do give ulcer patients a better quality of life while they heal.
I get up and have 2 or 3 cups of tea with sugar, should wait a 1/2 after taking the medicine before drinking the tea?

I was taking Omeprazole for acid reflux. I was recently going on eight weeks of taking it. I too WAS suffering from dry mouth and tongue and a severe burning sensation in my throat that was getting worse. I feared the worst, waking up with severe dry mouth, panic attacks as to what was happening. I couldnt even make a drop of saliva. I stopped taking the omeprazole last night. For the first time in weeks i slept like a baby.
Congrats to him for his clean time,and congrats to you for sticking with him through this!! Regarding the naproxen and his kidneys, I'm pretty sure naproxen is considered an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory). NSAID's can cause kidney issues. It is possible that he may have done some damage to his liver/kidneys from his abuse of the pills. How long was he using,and how much?
