I was told that i needed to centralise the pain and through the exercises and guidance from private treatments and NHS i managed to achieve this mostly. Although there is obviously still issues with my lower back the main problem is now my right thigh at the front. At first it starts with a nagging pain which can quickly build into muscle spasm's, losing balance and eventually falling over as i cant weight bear correctly. I see an Osteopath regularly. Exercise daily.
Regarding, tramadol, co-codamol and naproxen, I have a box of all 3 in front of me now. The naproxen are known to cause ulcers, internal bleeding of the stomach etc so your G.P should also have prescribed you a gastro-resistant capsule alongside the naproxen, something like Omeprazole to counteract any possible internal bleeds. I was prescribed Naproxen and Omaprazole last week for a smashed up ankle with major tissue damage.
Prograf helps patients who have had a liver/kidney transplant protect their new organ and prevent it from being rejected by the body. This medicine can cause the amount of potassium in your blood-stream to increase. For this reason you should avoid large amounts of foods that have a high potassium content, for example dried fruit, bananas, tomatoes and low sodium salt, while you are taking this medicine, also avoid potassium supplements. I had a bad reaction from eating these foods.
During the night the pain wakes me over and over, and I cannot find a comfortable position to relieve the pain. Without these pain meds, I have been having to crawl out to the kitchen counter, dragging my cane, then with MUCH effort and pain, I can manage to get myself somewhat upright (bent over the counter with left leg unable to straighten out, let alone be placed flat on the floor.
I wonder whether I can just take Sulfasalazine and avoid Naproxen (pain killer) and Omeprazole (acid reducer) if pain is within my endurance level. I really dont want to upset my stomach by flooding with drugs. By the way, can the disease damage any joints in the later years even though drugs are being taken to control it. What are the percentage of recovery or is there any case of having full recovery.
Thank you for your balanced comment. I have inflammatory Osteo Arthritis in all my joints along with Hypermobility Syndrome. I have been taking Tramadol along with Naproxen & Omeprazole for nearly two years now and every few weeks when I am slow ordering my repeat, I run out for a few days and have only had very mild side effects, I usually take some Co-codamol to tide me over – I take 150 to 250mg of Tramadol a day.
It's for regular pain, as is Naproxen, an NSAID. All of these can be harmful and need to be monitored and supervised. This is even more true of IV steroids. No one should be just sent off to do steroids, as we well know on the forum. Especially at the end of the infusions, follow-up and possibly a taper is needed. Most of your other meds I looked up very briefly. I don't see why you should be taking a BP med if you don't have hypertension. To protect your kidneys from what, specifically?
The dizziness resembled being carsick, with lightheadedness and occasional moments of nausea and feeling faint (but I never passed out). I had a CAT scan and blood work twice, and so far no diagnosis for the dizziness/fatigue. It got better for a few weeks but last week I began to have dizzy spells again, this time accompanied by maxillary sinus pressure. I had just switched allergy medications, from Nasonex to generic Flonase, right at the time my symptoms returned.
He was taking Omeprazole but stopped taking that thinking that might be the cause of a bitter taste, loss of appetite and nausea. He recently stopped taking Naproxen. Should he be on all this medication and could some of it be causing these problems?

Two months ago as a pedestrian hit by a drunk driver suffering no broken bones (parking lot at noon, low speed) but severe right knee and leg injuries. Hydrocodone taken every 4 hours the 500mg tab with Naproxen twice daily. Two weeks ago started having pain in upper right quadrant radiating through to back. I have had blood work done, a chest x-ray, ECG, and have been given muscle relaxants (that I never took) and Naproxen (that I never took) and was then told it's anxiety. I feel like I'm losing my mind!!! I am in pretty good shape, quit smoking in December of 2007, don't really drink, and eat healthy. I too think that medicine does more harm then good, but I am getting to the end of my rope now and just want an answer as to what it is.
A person can have reflux, even while taking Prilosec® (omeprazole) and this might be the cause. If so, it could also be the cause of your cough and wheezing, which can be signs of asthma. Medicine can cause a metallic, fishy taste. So can infection of tonsils, nose, throat, sinuses or teeth. One can have an abscessed tooth, without pain. You might want to go to this website for other causes of such abnormal tastes. http://wrongdiagnosis.com/symptoms/metallic_taste/causes.htm.

I only took the Naproxen for 1 1/2 days but stopped since I had ringing in my ears. I took the Omeprazole for 7 days but was determined to stop since I had practically no appetite and the ringing in my ears was still present among other side effects.
I have swelling in fingers and wrists and pain in ankles and hips. Hand, wrist, and finger pain was affecting every day life. Prosthetic Valves and INR--Avoiding Headaches posted by J.D. on January 25, 1999 at 17:28:41: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear J.D., I have never heard of a link between INR levels and headaches. The risk of too low of an INR is blood clots, strokes, and thrombosed valve. Therefore I would not try to base therapy on whether she has a headache or not.
Anyway, long story short, I went, he sent me for an MRI and physical therapy and prescribed a muscle relaxer in addition to Naproxen. The MRI showed I have cervical spondylosis, which is like arthritis of the spine, and there is a herniated disk pressing on a nerve root that goes to the places I'm having pain. I'm still in the process of seeing if physical therapy will help - they give you exercises to strengthen the muscles around the joints so there will be less stress on the joints.

To try and overcome this I take Omeprazole and Ranitidine as well take the Indomethacin with a meal. Taking so many pills at such a young age is a bit fusterating and can be very controlling of my day to day life. It’s frustrating to have to eat 3 large meals a day rather than split it up into smaller ones. So I have started thinking about other ways to receive this drug, suppositories are out of the question though. So I was wondering can Indomethacin be delivered via injection?
A The words acetaminophen (used in the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Iran and paracetamol (used elsewhere) both come from a chemical name for the compound: para-acetylaminophenol and para-acetylaminophenol. I take Elavil/amitryptalline daily (50 mg) for prevention. I take Relpax and Phenergan PRN. I have taken lots of ibuprofen and naproxen in my past. (I mention this because my first suspicion is that I may have an ulcer). Anyway, about 4 or 5 months ago I started feeling poorly. I'd periodically feel dizzy or feel nauseaus and just have a sense of not feeling well.
About two months into the Hep C therapy, my stomach started hurting, when that happened I would get hot flashes, I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, a strong burning and taste coming up from my stomach, and pins and needles in my face and arms. I am going for a stomach scope consultation in 6 days. In the meantime I was put on a stronger stomach MED (Pantoprazole 40mg), that still doesn't do much for my stomach or the taste and gas coming up from my stomach.
