omeprazole and hives

My eyes were completely red, and I started sprouting hives on my face, and a few on my knees and feet. I started taking Benadryl half way through the day but it didn't really help. Sunday morning I woke up and the hives were still there, though they had gotten slightly better as I slept. They quickly became bad again, this time affecting my feet to the point where it was painful to walk. I still had them on all the other parts of my body, but the feet were the worst this day.

And it was only once then. It just happened so suddenly, I was breathing find and then I lie down and immediately begin experiencing problems. I also have terriible posture and spend 5+ hours a day using the computer, sitting not up straight in a chair, not sure if that has anything to do with it either.

Later that afternoon we received prescriptions for Amoxicillin, Metronidazole, and Omeprazole. After the weekend the nurse phoned me the pathology results, but couldn't see any answer as to what the cause of his gastritis was. However it did state Moderately Acute Gastritis H. Pylori not detected. I already had scheduled an allergy test for Wed. He tested allergic to yeast (and carrots, but no worries there for sure!). At the initial consultation with the Dr.

It just seems a coincidence that the rash came after taking Omeprazole and/or the fake tan. My sore throat has now gone but I have had an itchy tongue, throat and sinus pain in the work place. Do you think it may be a drug induced allergy that has somehow made me more susceptable? My doctor asked if I had mouth ulcers. I havent but I presume he may have been checking symptoms for Lupus?? Im not sure if it was my WBC or ana that was high.

hello names Josh i have this problem they are red and they seem to like to be in a line and in groups they are all over my body i have had the chicken pox and i am up to date on vaccinations i have allergies yes but they are sinus but have not been taking my medication regularly i itch like crazy i take Singular, and flonase and trazodone and zoloft and abilify, omeprazole, and finally loratadine. i have had these symptoms for more than a week now... please help i live in Minnesota.

s patients usually have low or no acid which makes me concerned about taking this. And I read about ensuring you space out when you take omeprazole. I also have low ferritin and was taking iron, which I saw online is contradicted. Does anyone have experience with taking this?

At first my wife had urinary infection, few weeks later she started to have fever and stomach problems, the docter told her it was a gastroenteritis. I did not know why it was prescribed but after a number of months taking it I decided after discussion with my Doctor to stop taking it. I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.

Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?

Is it possible for this to be a side effect from Omeprazole? And how long does it take to get out of your system? I have heard it could take 3 months and I have heard it won't take longer than a week??

Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. t correct the underlying problem, but it can alleviate a good deal of the pain associated with ulcers by reducing the amount of stomach acid (the actual substance causing the pain). Omeprazole and other PPIs can and do give ulcer patients a better quality of life while they heal.

I get up and have 2 or 3 cups of tea with sugar, should wait a 1/2 after taking the medicine before drinking the tea?

I was taking Omeprazole for acid reflux. I was recently going on eight weeks of taking it. I too WAS suffering from dry mouth and tongue and a severe burning sensation in my throat that was getting worse. I feared the worst, waking up with severe dry mouth, panic attacks as to what was happening. I couldnt even make a drop of saliva. I stopped taking the omeprazole last night. For the first time in weeks i slept like a baby.

s an allergic reaction, I remember my daughter had an allergic reaction to eggs at 8 months old. She came out in huge red hives all over her face, ears and chest and it happened so quick, like after her 4th spoonful of egg! We rushed her to the hospital and they gave her antihistamines. It was so scary, and she didn't come right with eggs til she was 3. At least cady's reaction was mild, and just a rash, I hope you can get her back on the right medication.

Hey. I was wondering if it’s fine for me to take 40mg of Omeprazole and 1 capsule of IBgard in the same day. I have GERD.

My 4 year old son has been prescribed 20mg omeprazole for unknown stomach pain. I heard that PPIs such as this can increase the risk of pneumonia and he has a horrible chest cold. cough right now, should I discontinue taking this medication until this passes? Are the chances of it turning into pneumonia greater if he is on omeprazole? Or is this risk factor only for prolong use?

My allergist has not prescibed cortisone because it is only a short term solution and the hives usually come back with a vengence. I am presently controlling my Hives with 10 mg of Zyrtec and then 50 mg of Benadryl, both taken at night. Here is a list of potenial hive aggravating foods and medications: beer, berries, chocolate, citrus, nuts, shellfish, tomatoes, wine. Medications: Aspirin, Non-steroidal/ antiinflammatory drugs (such as Alleve, Advil, etc), and codeine preparations.

My palms and forearms are breaking out in VERY itchy hives. The hives that appear on my palm are actually under the skin and scratching does not allieviate the itching. Icing the spots and liquid antihystamines offer only temporary relief. Along with the hives, random fingers have been getting stiff and are difficult to bend. I am feeling very fatigued. I have had a feeling of flutters in my lower and upper abdomin. Nausea off and on but no vomiting. My throat feels scratchy like when catching a cold and I have a non-productive cough. I am really dizzy when sitting or standing after lying down. Breathing seems labored at times but not short of breath. I am taking omniprazole(sp). Should I be concerned about this? I had biopsy which was negative for malignacy but shows mild chronic esophagitis.
