Avatar n tn Just wondering if anybody here has ever taken Domperidone and Escitalopram. It says in the Domperidone leaflet not to take the two medications together, and some quick research online says there is a severe interaction between the two medicines. Despite this my doctor has prescribed them both to me. 30mg of Domperidone a day + 20mg of Escitalopram a day. Should I consult with my doctor about this or will I be fine? Thanks in advance.

Avatar m tn Basically escitalopram is the new citalopram with less side-effects and requires only half the dosage and I think it is the reason for it's cheaper price. -http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar m tn The R-enantiomer present in citalopram counteracts the activity of the S-enantiomer, thereby providing a possible basis for the pharmacological and clinical differences observed between citalopram and escitalopram.
Avatar f tn I had to do a fast taper from a cousin of Escitalopram and it was not fun. I was cut down from 20mgs (doctor recommended taper) within three days for a drug study I volunteered for. I realize now that was not the smart thing to do. Try asking your doctor about something like Clonazepam. It's a benzo like Xanax however I found it to be less addicting than xanax--which should only be used for short term. To be honest, I wouldn't try Xanax at all. Don't chance it.
Avatar f tn I don't know if your doc has discussed with you Xanax or something like it to take when you have a severe bout of anxiety. I use it and it works very well with no side effects. Take it as needed. It can be slightly addictive. The docs have me on it 3 times a day, but because I need it and am not on anything else at the moment.

Avatar f tn Hi I've been on wellbutrin for a few years but my doctor just added escitalopram (Lexapro ). I've been on it for five days now and I'm extremely tired I can't stay awake but can't sleep at night at all. I feel very weak and there was two days that I had tingling. Is this normal? Does the tiredness go away? I can't function like this.
Avatar f tn I am having a really difficult time health-wise..In recent tests (mri) they found ischaemic lesions. Anyway, I didn't take it well since I am 46 only..
Avatar f tn I have been taking Escitalopram 10mg (aka Cipralex / Lexapro) for 31 days today. For this past week Ive been having repeated very bad morning anxiety/ morning terror. I wake up in a state of panic, palpitations, difficulty breathing, hot flashes, feeling of extreme terror, and I'm afraid to start my day. This sometimes continues for 3-4 hours and improves gradually if I take my Seroquel 100mg. But some days it continues until I go to bed.
Avatar n tn the type A migraines with all the neurological side effects. Now I am starting to experience numbness and tingling i my hands and feet and arms and legs. It happens every day at least 5-10 times aa day and may have nothing todo with my migraines, but it is very uncomfortable and frustrating. Just now, it happened in my right hand and when I tried to stretch my thumb out it wouldnt stretch... kind of hard to explain. It felt almost heavy like it was to heavy to lift.
Avatar m tn s patients usually have low or no acid which makes me concerned about taking this. And I read about ensuring you space out when you take omeprazole. I also have low ferritin and was taking iron, which I saw online is contradicted. Does anyone have experience with taking this?
Avatar f tn Is Dapoxetine(not finding) and Paroxetine better solutins for PE and what is the difference in period of ejaculation delay compared to Escitalopram ?
Avatar m tn Thank you Jennifer, I have consulted a psychologist, he has advised Escitalopram 5 mg per day and will revisit in a couple of weeks.
Avatar m tn Hm. Well, taking your medication properly is important. The extra 20 mg may feel like a lot and you may have a couple of days that you feel 'off' as it enters your system and leaves your system but it shouldn't be horrible. I have no idea what you think the boner has to do with it though?
Avatar f tn I forgot to mention that I did take 100mg of 5HTP before going on the medication and that made me feel like I was going psychotic. So, between that and the Escitalopram, if I am sensitive to them, my brain could still be trying to "right" itself? Most of the symptoms I deal with now are negative/intrusive thoughts and difficulty staying asleep, which sometimes produces physical symptoms of 'hot flashes', sweatiness and a woozy/dizzy feeling.
Avatar n tn Lexapro (Escitalopram) is converted to an active compound in the body that can take up to 2 weeks for the body to remove it after a single dose. The Lexapro (Escitalopram) 10 mg tablets are scored and can be cut in half (yielding two 5mg halves). To start the taper, I would recommend trying to take ½ tablet (5mg) daily for approximately 2 weeks, seeing if you have any withdrawal symptoms and then continue the taper by stopping the medication completely.
Avatar f tn I was on Cymbalta before pregnancy then had to get off of it. It was the worse feeling every because I had all the crazy withdraw symptoms. It sucked but I ended up being okay after a few weeks.
Avatar m tn At first my wife had urinary infection, few weeks later she started to have fever and stomach problems, the docter told her it was a gastroenteritis. I bought her omeprazole and gave her amoxicilline, that worked. She felt fine, but few weeks later she had urinary infection symptoms again. The doctor gave her antibiotics again, that helped her.
Avatar m tn Following a valve replacement and triple bypass I was discharged from Hospital with a number of drugs and a new one being Omeprazole. I did not know why it was prescribed but after a number of months taking it I decided after discussion with my Doctor to stop taking it. A few months later through the night I got this terrible chest pain on a scale of 1-10 I guess it was 7-8.
Avatar f tn I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.
Avatar m tn 5mg of escitalopram at night and 10mg of Prozac in the morning. The transition was really difficult, but the withdrawal symptoms have gone away. Today the psychiatrist said to stop the escitalopram entirely and just take 10mg of Prozac each day. I am hopeful the Prozac will help her feel more energetic and motivated to do things and most importantly get her to stop thinking about suicide.
Avatar m tn Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?
