nexium

Avatar m tn s patients usually have low or no acid which makes me concerned about taking this. And I read about ensuring you space out when you take omeprazole. I also have low ferritin and was taking iron, which I saw online is contradicted. Does anyone have experience with taking this?
Avatar f tn Hello , i have uc and my GP as just prescribed prednisolene 30 mg a day reducing weekly and omeprazole 20mg a day( plus calcium supplements.) Worried about all the side effects i've read about . Anyone had a positive outcome usi these please????
Avatar m tn I have taken calcium and D under doctor supervision for years, but I have endocrine issues and need supplementation. Calcium will also not absorb in large doses. It is better to spread out, if you even need a larger doses.
Avatar f tn yes this is a concern, and u should talk to ur Dr about taking Vit D w/calcium to help u....and ne other vitamins and minerals u may be lacking....the other issue is taking PPI's like Prilosec can cause ur body to not absorb the vitamins and minerals it needs be it naturally or from supplements. Ur Dr should also help u step off the meds...u need to do this slowly...and make sure u r following a diet that will not trigger the symptoms.
Avatar f tn I have had a constant dull upper and mid right quadrant pain for the last 5 months. The pain is more of an annoyance and sometimes hurts when I bend or twist my body. Sometimes, it feels like gnawing or pinching. No nausea or vomiting. No significant changes in bowel movements. I’ve had IBS for over 10 years so nothing out of the ordinary. I thought maybe it was the gallbladder or appendix at first, however, I’m not quite sure. I’ve been to my primary three times for the issue.
1364792 tn?1278051187 If you think you might have acid reflux and your doctor gave you omeprazole to take and you take it but dont actually have acid reflux would that hurt you or just do nothing?
Avatar n tn t good because it has no protection from the acid, becomes damaged and inflamed, and very painful. Proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole ensure your stomach produces less acid, giving help for repair of ulcers, or helping with acid reflux in the oesophagus.
Avatar f tn Last ten days with omeprazole I get some headaches and sometimes I feel white bubbles in urine like calcium. Yesterday I drink little green tea and it made my chest horrible.
Avatar f tn Thank you very much I will do the test and I think you could be right because recently I started using magnesium and calcium in powder form at night and I've seen a small improvement.
1210142 tn?1266077031 Was on Plavix and Omeprazole for quite a while. Eventually went off Plavix and kept Omeprazole. LAD blocked again in 2013, and a DES was placed inside the other stents. These occluded again this past November and I had a double bypass (LAD plus RCA). The RCA veinous graft collapsed this month and a DES was placed last week. Sooo, I am back on Plavix and Omeprazole. Thinking of maybe changing to Pantoprazole or just stopping PPI altogether.
460830 tn?1347219306 Morning - Lisinopril, fish oil cap, Vitamin C, Calcium chew (with Vitamin D and Vitamin K added), Flonase. Noon - Multivitamin (Centrum Silver generic) and Vitamin A cap. Night - Zyrtec, fish oil, Vitamin C, and Calcium chew. Right now I'm getting scheduled for cancer surgery again, so I'm taking Lortab or Tylenol for pain, and I'm supposed to be starting Omeprazole, too, for heartburn - I'm just trying to decide when is the best times for me to take all of these...
Avatar f tn Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. Walking around also helps clear gas. If it does not help, consult a doctor. Take care!
Avatar f tn I am currently on omeprazole AND ranitidine at the same time and it hasn't even touched my acid reflux in the slightest, either of them, so my Dad has paid for me to go private next week cos I am pregnant an really suffering at the moment.
Avatar f tn We’re talking about vitamin D calcium magnesium my T3 and my T4 medication my Crestor so on and so forth. And it shows I mean I have aged 10 years in the last five. At any rate I wanted to know what the best way is to test stomach acid levels? I have been 10 days without omeprazole it took a long time for me to get this far. The acid reflux would hurt so badly I didn’t think I could take it. I changed my eating habits when and what I eat. And I have been offsetting the issue with Tom’s.
Avatar f tn I would recommend you drink some almond milk and see how you feel for a few days. The main ingredient in Tums is Calcium Citrate. And often excess acid is because of a lack of calcium in diet. Drink a cup of almond milk for two days and see how you feel.
Avatar f tn weird flushing feeling across my back up the shoulders, finger and toes numbess and tingling, muscle spasms and charlie horses at night. I was not feeling well at all. Stil have some of these when i have a flare or deal with med adjustments. Oh yeah , and pretty severe nausea on and off for over a year.
Avatar m tn If it has been 2-4 weeks since starting the Omeprazole and you have taken it AS PRESCRIBED and have done LIFESTYLE MODIFICATIONS, then you need to reconsult your physician. You probably should consult a GI Specialist and have an Endoscopy done to make sure nothing else is going on. Sounds like GERD based on your complaints with your stomach at night.
Avatar f tn Boy, been down this road. ENT docs all had me on Nexium on and off. Was told to stay on it. After about 3 months, was having bad low back pain and pain on the top of both thighs. I then had a left rib fracture of unknown cause. At that time, no side effects like this were published. I did find a small group with similar symptoms but my Doc said it was not the Nexium. I stopped it and within 4 days, the flank and thigh pain were gone.
Avatar m tn At first my wife had urinary infection, few weeks later she started to have fever and stomach problems, the docter told her it was a gastroenteritis. I bought her omeprazole and gave her amoxicilline, that worked. She felt fine, but few weeks later she had urinary infection symptoms again. The doctor gave her antibiotics again, that helped her.
Avatar m tn Following a valve replacement and triple bypass I was discharged from Hospital with a number of drugs and a new one being Omeprazole. I did not know why it was prescribed but after a number of months taking it I decided after discussion with my Doctor to stop taking it. A few months later through the night I got this terrible chest pain on a scale of 1-10 I guess it was 7-8.
Avatar f tn I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.
Avatar m tn Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?
581954 tn?1223391496 Is it possible for this to be a side effect from Omeprazole? And how long does it take to get out of your system? I have heard it could take 3 months and I have heard it won't take longer than a week??
Avatar n tn Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Anyone here experienced the same?
Avatar n tn t correct the underlying problem, but it can alleviate a good deal of the pain associated with ulcers by reducing the amount of stomach acid (the actual substance causing the pain). Omeprazole and other PPIs can and do give ulcer patients a better quality of life while they heal.
Avatar n tn I get up and have 2 or 3 cups of tea with sugar, should wait a 1/2 after taking the medicine before drinking the tea?
