Does anyone suffer from bloating after taking losec/omeprazole, am taking 1 twice a day (20mg each)?
I am going to have to wait another 2 weeks for results and am back taking the omeprazole but my stomach is constanlty bloating up after eating. Is this a side effect of the tablets?? i have been taking these tablets 6 weeks in total but i am stil suffering severly with bloating and my stomach is constanlty rumbling. Does this sound like h pylori or does anyone else suffer sever bloating from these omeprazole tablets.
Ive also done a colonoscopy and ct. Ive been given Omeprazole which helps me sleep since it stops the bloating. The doctor doeant know what caused the gastritis (not taking pills /alcohol).
I have a few questions: Does the gastritis itself cause bloating, or high levels of acid which cause gastritis(Im trying to understand if what caused the gastritis is still there since I dont know what that is). Secondly, a few days after taking the Omeprazole I started having a feaver and acute diahrea.
I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.
For the past month ive had stomach bloating mostly after eating. However it doesnt make me feel full, it just feel like my stomach is stretched. Occasionally i feel ever so slightly nauseous but this passes quickly if i eat. Also on days that i havnt felt bloated my stomach has felt tense and im unable to relax it like im holding it in but I litterally arent!!
I eat a balanced diet, i dont smoke but i do like a drink. It doesnt seem to be affected by what i eat or dont eat.
ve had chest pain, difficulty breathing, incredible stomach bloating/distention (even after just drinking a glass of water), burping, reflux, and heartburn. My main concern is the bloating and difficulty breathing. I can barely function on a day to day basis. I eat little bites all day long because I can't eat a full meal or I start hyperventilating. I have had an EGD which showed a polyp (was removed) and some mild esophagitis. I don't have H.
It had been 5 days since I took omeprazole. I am still having belching, bloating, indigestion, and very difficult swallowing. It feels like my throat is swelling and its hard to get food down. I really need help. Any advice would be appreciated.
I was recently tested (blood drawn) for celiac and I had been on daily omeprazole for 9 months. My test came back negative, but my doc never mentioned stopping omeprazole. of course my doc also 'forgot' that she prescribed omeprazole for me in the first place and tried to prescribe it again.
Bowel movements vary from diarrhea to slender solids. Constant bloating, cramping and discomfort. I have been told to take probiotics and my omeprazole which do nothing. Had an ultrasound to rule out the liver, pancreas ect..... Its super frustrating but you just learn to live with it I guess...

I take omeprazole 20mg and have been taking it for over two years, I still get the bloating and stomach pain, and also pain just beneath the bottom of lef rib cage, about 4-5 inches from center, and I know it is caused by bloating, or excess air, because when it happens, it is about two hours or so after dinner or if I drink a lot of water. It seems to help if I eat small servings throughout the day, rather than a large dinner, eating breakfast or a light lunch does not trigger it, only dinner.

I'm sorry it was my bad accent , I should say that I have no acid reflux, no sour stomach, no heartburn, not terrible bloating,sometimes my bloating gets severe, though.especially when my stomach gets worse.
A few weeks ago after resuming my treatment with Omeprazole, the drug I haven't been on for over five months, It was a miracle and I was revived again ,now it is a couple of days since I have the illness once again after having a substantial meal.
mailed him about it and he doubled the omeprazole dose and perscribed one other medication that would control acid in a different way. During this time I developed what I can only describe as a "pounding heartbeat"...my heart doesn't beat faster...I've measured the bpm many times and it's the same as usual, however it feels like my heart is beating much harder.
I have suffered from excess acid on and off over the last 10 years and been diagnosed with h.pylori twice. I have tried Omeprazole and din't like the dry itching skin so came off of it and controlled it with diet and occasional anti acid chews.
In October I had a burning pain under my breast bone and started burping after eating. Went to urgent care and doctor prescribed me omeprazole. Took it for two weeks and everything went away. The week of Thanksgiving the pain started to come back and then I had heartburn that lasted for 4 days. Back on the omeprazole. Was started on omeprazole and bloating/discomfort left-mid-right have definitely decreased. Now just have infrequent "jab" type feeling Right upper to lower quad (kind if "side sticker" feeling) had JAK2 test which was Neg.(?test looking for myloprolifertive neoplasms)did have UA C&S done which I'm assuming was neg,since I didn't hear anything.I'm concerned with CT findings.Could an ovarian "cyst" cause leukocytosis?
Since around September last year I have been suffering from what I suppose is heartburn or acid reflux. I feel a burning sensation or bloating in my stomach, bloating in chest area and sometimes nausea to the point where I have been sitting in school considering taking the rest of the day off because of the pain. That only ever happens when i'm at school though, that it gets that bad.
Heartburn/GERD can be a symptom of gastroparesis, so don't discount it. And if you're off your Omeprazole, do you get any nausea? A lot of people with Gastroparesis don't get many of the symptoms. In fact, the most common symptom is bloating.
If I were to put money on anything I'd say that the gastroparesis might be caused by the hypothyroidism. (It's not an uncommon association.) An adjustment to these meds may show improvement in the condition.
I had been having acid reflux for a few weeks, and last week I woke up after rolling over on my stomach during the night with acid burning my esophagus. A doctor perscribed me Nexium, but since my insurance wouldn't cover it, I started taking over the counter Omeprazole instead. The very next day I woke up with stomach pain and cramps at around the same time I had the acid reflux the previous night.
