Then I go to the toilet pass motion/stool/feces and after lay on bed and relax and after it takes time and gets normal on its own.Nothing serious has ever happened.I have also talked to my cousin and sister about it but they say that its normal sometimes they get it but they do not worry aa its natural it will not do any harm.What do you people say? Why do I start thinking that it would do something to me? can it be dangerous or do any harm?
I was having panic attacks which caused me to have a little bit of acid reflux one time so my doctor prescribed me a generic form of omeprazole to take twice daily 20mg 2x a day, I took it for over 2 months, and within the 2 months my anxiety and panic got worse to the point where when I would try to eat my heart would race and put me in a panic attack. This drug seemed to have increased my anxiety/panic attacks.
I'm currently taking lexapro for anxiety & depression and Omeprazole for Gerd and just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant. My doctor said the benefIt's outweigh the risks but I'm reading some really scary defects online and I'm wondering if anyone here has had good/bad experiences with them?
I was prescribed of Essentiale forte twice a day for a month, Iterax twice a day for my anxiety, and Omeprazole twice a day for my gastric acid formation. It's been 14 days since I started Essentiale forte. I stopped my Iterax but continued my Omeprazole. My concern now is I'm still feeling fatigue but not the same level of fatigue I felt on the first week or two. Occasionally I take my Iterax whenever I'm feeling anxious. Please enlighten me. What would be the cause of my fatigue?
Remember there is usually a temporary increase in anxiety when a dosage is increased. The increased anxiety can cause more stomach acid and therefore your symptoms. I confess I take omeprazole for the heartburn. The burping went away with the anxiety. My stomach burned so bad I thought I had an ulcer. You can get prevacid or prilosec over the counter. i had 24 hr heart monitor my doc took quick look before sending to cardiologist said my heart did race a lot and could be svt and gave me bisoprolol tablets then 2 weeks later got results back and was normal so came off tablets, also tried cimitidene tablets and now changed to laprosole tablets as gas issues still bad and nothing seems to help. my doc now says its anxiety and put me on sertraline tablets.
mailed him about it and he doubled the omeprazole dose and perscribed one other medication that would control acid in a different way. During this time I developed what I can only describe as a "pounding heartbeat"...my heart doesn't beat faster...I've measured the bpm many times and it's the same as usual, however it feels like my heart is beating much harder.
The second time occurred about 4 days ago when I stopped taking omeprazole again. I withstood this anxiety of not breathing and have now been off omeprazole for about 4 days. I still have the itchy skin but it does seem to be better. I also have not taken anything for acid reflux and it has not flared up which is very surprising but I have been careful on what I have been eating and have had no alcohol. I am 90% sure my problem was an overdose of omeprazole.
s patients usually have low or no acid which makes me concerned about taking this. And I read about ensuring you space out when you take omeprazole. I also have low ferritin and was taking iron, which I saw online is contradicted.
Does anyone have experience with taking this?

Another possibility for the tingling, etc, could be pinched nerves or misplaced vertebrae in your spine, seeing a chiropractor might be beneficial as well. He/she will take some x-rays, study them, and discuss you what is wrong and a plan of action.
At first my wife had urinary infection, few weeks later she started to have fever and stomach problems, the docter told her it was a gastroenteritis. I bought her omeprazole and gave her amoxicilline, that worked. She felt fine, but few weeks later she had urinary infection symptoms again. The doctor gave her antibiotics again, that helped her.
Following a valve replacement and triple bypass I was discharged from Hospital with a number of drugs and a new one being Omeprazole. I did not know why it was prescribed but after a number of months taking it I decided after discussion with my Doctor to stop taking it. I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.
Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?
Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Anyone here experienced the same?
t correct the underlying problem, but it can alleviate a good deal of the pain associated with ulcers by reducing the amount of stomach acid (the actual substance causing the pain). Omeprazole and other PPIs can and do give ulcer patients a better quality of life while they heal.
I get up and have 2 or 3 cups of tea with sugar, should wait a 1/2 after taking the medicine before drinking the tea?
is omeprazole a nercotic pain killer? i know some medications that may b addicting so i thought i would double check..also i had seen that u can take in an i.v is this true and if so how?
I was taking Omeprazole for acid reflux. I was recently going on eight weeks of taking it. I too WAS suffering from dry mouth and tongue and a severe burning sensation in my throat that was getting worse. I feared the worst, waking up with severe dry mouth, panic attacks as to what was happening. I couldnt even make a drop of saliva. I stopped taking the omeprazole last night. For the first time in weeks i slept like a baby.
