Avatar n tn Dear Doctor, My name is Meenal and I am 29 years old. I have severe OCD. I cannot get out of the house, and I have fears of numbers and check everything constantly. I am right now on Dr Mary Reed's protocol in which I take 12 pills of Chinese Stress Relief, 6 pills of Super Omega 3 fish oil, 8 pills of liver cleanse and 8 tablespoons of ground flaxseed. I was also told to eat turkey for L Tryptophan. Do you think this is an appropiate treatment for ocd?

Avatar f tn After a few weeks, I did an Andreas Moritz (read his books! Find them online) liver cleanse. It was successful, but I still need to do more. I'm on my second juice feast right now with a bottle of Para-Rid in my lap. Parasite cleanses contain herbs that are hard on the liver, so you have to clean your liver first.
Avatar n tn hey calex, yeah my mother had an ultrasound which came back negative back in the day so they did remove it and they found "sand like" gallstones..like millions of them (or sludge) so even though imaging is negative there still *could be problems* One way to check is a HIDA scan checking for the ejection rate. Mine was like 12% and I had zero stones so I had mine removed (and still am having problems..
1655526 tn?1330655629 I know that omega 3 is really supposed to be good for the heart, but I get palps after I take them for 3 days, especially krill oil. I've read in this forum that others have also had adverse reactions to taking this supplement. So I wanted to put this poll out to see how omega 3 affects you. The first time I suspected krill oil, which is supposed to be the best omega 3, I used the process of elimination. Still not believing it I did it a second and third time.
Avatar n tn first thing i would do is a colon cleanse then herbal liver cleanse or flush. i just went through a gall flush - yes most people told me i should just get it taken out. but what i was amazed at was that most of the problem was a blocked bile duct. i met a naturopath who has a bioresonnance machine and i could track the gall & liver stones being excreted. don't give up. clean up your organs and you will be fine. ps. nothing showed up in our normal xrays, ultrasounds, etc.

Avatar n tn I don't even know how to select best answer. I wouldn't worry about it -- nobody pays attention to it anyway. As to your question, you've already done what I would consider an unsafe colon cleanse, and I don't know why you did it. I tried to make that clear.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if I can just take an omega-3 supplement, or should I eat all the foods this app is telling to to get it. I'm not much of a fish eater.
Avatar f tn you know, I haven't been taking the Omega 3 since I got pregnant - they make me nauseous. I just take my prenatals daily. I try to eat healthy(doesn't always happen) but i do try. I didnt take any Omega 3 with my other kids and their fine, so oh well.
Avatar m tn I took an Omega-3 supplement for the first time before going to bed last night, and when I woke up one eye was very swollen and puffy. The only allergies I have had are seasonal. Could I be allergic to the Omega-3 supplement?
518994 tn?1212242047 I read where Omega 3 was good for your dog. Is it a different Omega 3 or is it the same that humans take?
773755 tn?1328119777 re worried about long-term damage, buy a good liver cleanse. Otherwise, forget about it and next time wear a mask with a charcoal filter that keeps the stuff out in the first place.
Avatar f tn A parasite cleanse is composed of a combination of herbs that kill off or drive parasites out of the body, for example black walnut hulls based formulas. A liver cleanse is composed of herbs and other supplements that detoxify the liver, for example, milk thistle based formulas. You can also try to aid the liver without cleansing it with herbs and supplements that act as antioxidants specific to the liver, such as alpha lipoic acid and wheat grass (an absorbable source of glutathione).
Avatar m tn t purify it, meaning you get more than just the omega 3 oils, but that means you get less of the omega 3 oils and have to take more of them, and they are expensive. Cod liver oil shouldn't be taken regularly -- it can have a laxative effect, and the liver is a detoxification organ, meaning toxins accumulate there. It can be good for skin problems and other things, but for basic omega 3 you don't want liver oil.
Avatar n tn Have you tried any type of liver cleanse? It may help if you have not. There are diets you can try but they also have herbs that help. And no I am not one of the people that think natural is the only way to go. I just think they are worth a shot. I do happen to know someone that drinks and when they would start hurting they do a liver cleanse and have told me they feel a lot better. Hopefully he will quit!
Avatar f tn My husband is currently taking Omega 3 and liquid Zeolite to hopefully help his liver cancer. He is sceduled for a lobectomy on March 10. Does he need to stop taking these supplements in any significant time period before the surgery?
Avatar f tn re describing is a combination colon/liver cleanse. Milk thistle and yellowdock, for example, are liver cleansers, and could theoretically wash some of the medication out of our system, as the body sees virtually all medication as toxic. There are colon cleanses that don't contain liver cleansing herbs, just colon cleansers, which are abrasives and sometimes laxatives that are intended to clean out that system. You might want to look into those next time.
