Omega 3 kids behaviour

Common Questions and Answers about Omega 3 kids behaviour

omega-3

Avatar n tn one with ADHD/Aspgerger's, one with Oppositional Defiance and one that's just a typical boy. The Omega-3 has helped all of them with moods, concentration, impulsivity & better handwriting. The omega, in addition to a healthier diet, makes me feel like I am helping them get through life in a way that can be managed for the rest of their lives. If you teach them a certain lifestyle early, the hope is that it will travel with them throughout their adult years.
Avatar f tn you know, I haven't been taking the Omega 3 since I got pregnant - they make me nauseous. I just take my prenatals daily. I try to eat healthy(doesn't always happen) but i do try. I didnt take any Omega 3 with my other kids and their fine, so oh well.
Avatar f tn Food makes a big difference in my kids behaviour. Mainly Omega 3 (Udo's Oil) in a smoothie every morning, and a little protein every few hours, even just a couple of small bites of meat, a few nuts or a boiled egg. They argue less, are calmer, cope better, and more cheerful when I do this. Especially if behaviour seems to be always at certain times of day, I would make sure they have that little bit of protein a half hour or so before it would usually happen.
Avatar n tn t have any kids and this was the first time i was living with kids. Was that a normal behaviour.. M so unsure if i want to visit them anymore though i don't want to spoil my relationship. What should i do?
Avatar f tn The professionals would not 'label' Ryan - their words not mine. However, it was implied that Ryan was suffering/ is suffering from ODC and the root cause was poor parenting. We didn't accept that diagnosis - we had him assessed independantly for development delay - he was put on a special diet we gave him Zinc and Omega 3 supplements we even bought him software to train his eyes. He loved the attention but it didn't make any difference to his soiling or his behaviour.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if I can just take an omega-3 supplement, or should I eat all the foods this app is telling to to get it. I'm not much of a fish eater.
Avatar m tn I took an Omega-3 supplement for the first time before going to bed last night, and when I woke up one eye was very swollen and puffy. The only allergies I have had are seasonal. Could I be allergic to the Omega-3 supplement?
518994 tn?1212242047 I read where Omega 3 was good for your dog. Is it a different Omega 3 or is it the same that humans take?
1655526 tn?1330655629 I know that omega 3 is really supposed to be good for the heart, but I get palps after I take them for 3 days, especially krill oil. I've read in this forum that others have also had adverse reactions to taking this supplement. So I wanted to put this poll out to see how omega 3 affects you. The first time I suspected krill oil, which is supposed to be the best omega 3, I used the process of elimination. Still not believing it I did it a second and third time.
Avatar n tn Food makes a big difference in my kids behaviour. Mainly Omega 3 (Udo's Oil with DHA) in a smoothie every morning and a little protein every few hours, even just a couple of small bites of meat. They argue less, are calmer, cope better, and more cheerful when I do this. The timing of your son's trouble seems like he needs protein. It's best if you can give it before they start feeling that way, and prevent it, that way they don't need to recover.
Avatar f tn On his very first day hs missed all of his outdoor time due to bad behaviour. He hits, kicks, bits, and his teachers say he never sits still of pays attention. When Aidens teachers confront him with his bad behaviour has has no remorse, and continues to do it over and over. On August 20 he was sent to the principals office for very bad behaviour. On August 25 again to the principals office and on the 26th I had to pick him up from school because he bit another child so bad it drew blood.
Avatar f tn pray a lot and try giving him Vitamin B6 and Omega 3-6-9.and try talking to him to see why he is acting out and to see if he knows what he is doing and if he can hear you when you talk to him. It could be something to do with his brain and if any thing the Doctors should check his blood levels and then do a MRI and a EEG.
Avatar m tn Recently I heard that taking omega 3 capsules( the transparent one) will increase the risk of prostate cancer. Is there any scientific studies conducted on the subject?
Avatar m tn Quite a complex topic this but at the same time an interesting one. Omega 3 isn't just one substance, Omega three are fatty acids just like Omega 6 fatty acids found in oils and meat etc. Omega 3 are EPA, DHA, and ALA . Some experts have said that the balance between Omega 6 fatty acids and Omega 3 is key, but just as many say this is nonsense. Omega 3 do have benefits, mainly reducing inflammation in the body, such as in the arteries or joints.
317787 tn?1473358451 Hi there! I just found this group and was wondering if anyone had tried Omega 3 supplements. I am trying them now for stiffness in joints, body. I've also read it can help with brain fog or fuzzy thinking.
Avatar m tn In my opinion you're walking a very fine line between disciplining and child abuse. But opposed to the poster above I believe the best way forward is to offer advice and hope you'll take it, and I'll refrain from commenting further on the methods you have used. The simple fact you mention so many things indicate to me that you have never been persistent with any of them. A 3 year old needs to know exactly where the limits are and what the consequence is for crossing it.
Avatar f tn It's my opinion she has naturally fallen into the "Omega dog" role. (In a wild pack, the Omega is the lowest-of-the-low, subservient to all the others, and often the one who is a scapegoat for the rest of the pack.) It's strange - I was reading something about this in a wolf pack only a couple of days ago....
Avatar f tn My 8 yr old has OCD. He was diagnosed at age 6 after an awful year of trying to figure out what the heck was going on. We've had some hellish times, we chose not to medicate him. We started giving him daily Omega 3-6-9 suppliments and it seems to help him. He's in a better mood, so he's more capable of being flexible and gets caught in less "loops".
1706802 tn?1307751920 My 3 year old daughter has really bad separation anxiety and it is not your normal everyday separation anxiety. She is fine when I drop her at daycare, she is happy there (although it took her 4 months to stop crying at the door), She cries when I go outside to put the washing in the washing machine let alone go somewhere without her, I can't leave her with any babysitters or my parents, I can't even leave her with my husband.

4274823 tn?1388529098 Thanks for the list. I avoid soy and flax due to a health issue. I do eat pumpkin seeds and walnuts as well as plenty of vegetables and fruit. Interesting about papaya. Ideally I would like to get it from food rather than have to purchase an expensive supplement that I don't feel 100% comfortable with.
