I did not eat chocolate or anything else with caffiene. and brocolli, cauliflower and sauerkraut DEFINATELY made him gassy. I think those are the only things I couldn't eat.

Avatar f tn Try making your own with peanut butter, nuts, avocado or other protein boosters.yogurt, milk or almond milk as protein sources. I wouldn't buy protein powders as you don't actually know what is in them besides what is listed like arsenic, lead, mercury. leafy greens are good sources of folate, a key nutrient that helps prevent neural tube defects. Making shakes with fruits and vegetables can also help you reach your dietary fiber intake goals during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I'm a ftm & it sounds like your right on target. My pre pregnancy weight was 136lbs, my doctor predicted I would go up to 170 which terrified me because I use to work out but loss energy in the 1st trimester.I currently gained 19lbs so far & I'm 33wks + 3. Some of my favorite snacks include: wheat bread +peanut butter & banana or honey. Cucumber slices + light tuna( 6oz excellent source of omega 3). If you like fruits & vegetables, try mixing it up weekly .
Avatar f tn Vitamin E is found in all whole grain sources, wheat germ; and omega 3 are in nuts, fish, teas, flaxseed, and egg to name a few. Plus you get the added benefit of the fiber.
Avatar f tn In the end, leaving out the flaxseed oil will not be that big a deal, but I would want to find out why exactly, the omega-3 fish oil was discouraged in your case. I commend you for looking into this area yourself. Keep up the good work. I get a lot of nice information from engaged patients like yourself and it continually stirs me to keep up with the current research as much as possible.
Avatar m tn You need approximately 2500-3000 calories per day which is spread across 3 meals a day with snacks between meals. Moderate fat diet means = use polyunsaturated (omega 3, corn oil, nuts, etc) fats and monounsaturated (olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc) fats, no saturated fats (high fat snack foods, butter, fat spreads) and no trans fats.

Avatar m tn These are found in things like olive oil, peanut butter, avocado oil. Cranberry juice increases HDL as does omega 3 fatty acids, found in fish and some other foods. Don't listen to any remarks regarding calcium supplements because this doesn't seem to improve HDL in men or post menopausal women. I hope that's given some help.
Avatar m tn But there would be no harm in adding the Omega 3 oil to her food? Or adding it to a little mashed potato or sweet potato, mixing it in, and giving her bits of that as treats OK I know....a little messy...but maybe you could add this to her food?) It's also possible she will like the oil for its own flavour, and she might just lick it straight from a spoon?

Avatar f tn Am 7 weeks pregnant and am gaining weight like crazy I mean I 've gained almost 3 kg in those 7 weeks am I doing something wrong can I go on a diet while pregnant please help.
1205562 tn?1554747006 t worry about it too much. I ate peanut butter like crazy in my first pregnancy and my son is just fine with it. I was eating 3-4 PB&J's a day for months, and went through jars of peanut butter. This time I have not "craved" it yet, but I think I would limit myself this time around, just in case, but not cut it out. I did, however, cut it out completely while I was nursing. I was told it's more crucial during nursing and the first few years than while pregnant.
