Omega 3 isn't just one substance, Omega three are fatty acids just like Omega 6 fatty acids found in oils and meat etc. Omega 3 are EPA, DHA, and ALA . Some experts have said that the balance between Omega 6 fatty acids and Omega 3 is key, but just as many say this is nonsense. Omega 3 do have benefits, mainly reducing inflammation in the body, such as in the arteries or joints.
Avatar n tn i started dieting after she was six months. i lost 8 kg in 6 months after that weight loss is halted. i routinely use whole bread and skimmed milk, have cut off all sweets and processed food. take rice twice a week and occassional treat of any sweet. 30 min brisk walk or excercise on 5 days of week. i have no other medical condition like diabetes, hypertension or hypothyroidism. not taking any medicine except for occasional multivitamin or vitamin E.

Egg whites have (obviously) far more omega-3, but they are also high in cholesterol, so feeding too much is not good for a dog's heart or cirulatory system. A much better source of omega-3 is salmon oil, as this has many beneficial properties and is easy to digest.

Avatar f tn Walking for forty minutes on the incline is the best. It will not only help you loose weight but is one of the few exercises that actually tighten the stomach muscles! Recent research has shown that taking omega 3 on it's own whilst good for you does not assist with weight loss but taking omega 3 and exercising has been proven to assist in loosing weight. Exercise whilst assisting weight loss can also build muscle. Muscle being heavier than fat might mean no loss!
Avatar m tn Be aware that eating vegetarian can cause your body to be deficient in nutrients that are found primarily in animal products, such as vitamin B12, which is found in eggs, milk, meat, etc; calcium, which is found in dairy - you need at least 3 servings calcium/day, as well as others. You should have a nutritionist help you with a diet that will insure you get the proper nutrition.

My question is will my body feel safe at 140 pounds or will it try to recover the 180 pounds i had weighed?Also i would like to know if there is any chance of me gaining weight while taking phentermine? I follow a low carb diet but i have not seen fast results.
Avatar n tn Fruit and veggies! Saltine crackers and only the white parts of eggs! No bread or anything with noodles or salt. Also, try some yoga! You loose a lot of weight actually and its so much better than working out.

Anything that has a high Omega 3 content will have this effect, such as flax seed. Most commercial eggs are commonly high in Omega 6 fatty acids due to the fact that they are raised in cages and eat the seeds of plants that have a high Omega 6 content. Omega 6 fatty acids have the effect of raising LDL levels in the blood.

Avatar n tn I take the Omega Q Plus by Dr. Sinatra. Had not been consistent with it daily as I am now after I got my Cholesterol checked. My Low density was down and my Hds were up and tris were almost 200 below what they had been in years. I was elated over the tri report because it had been in the 400's in the past. Everything else checked out perfect. I will continue to take Omega 3 plus for another 3 months, and have it checked again.

(This would have involved eating scrambled eggs with a radioactive tracer in them, usually along with a piece of toast w/jelly and a glass of water, then a series of scans at different time intervals to see the timing of the food emptying from your stomach.

Suggest eating 3 meals a day constituency with drinking high nutrient drinks - Ensure, Boost or make milkshakes (milk, fruit, and ice cream blended) or yogurt smoothies (yogurt, fruit, and ice cream blended) 3 times a day to help you gain weight slowly.
