Omega 3 eggs fat

Common Questions and Answers about Omega 3 eggs fat

omega-3

Avatar m tn Quite a complex topic this but at the same time an interesting one. Omega 3 isn't just one substance, Omega three are fatty acids just like Omega 6 fatty acids found in oils and meat etc. Omega 3 are EPA, DHA, and ALA . Some experts have said that the balance between Omega 6 fatty acids and Omega 3 is key, but just as many say this is nonsense. Omega 3 do have benefits, mainly reducing inflammation in the body, such as in the arteries or joints.
198942 tn?1236316304 We all need the essential fatty acids to stay healthy, and oils that are high in Omega 3 oils, we get enough Omega 6 oils in our diets through eggs and such. The omega 3 is best obtained from fish, and I take a fish oil supplement for my heart and general brain health, it is in liquid form and not too bad once you get used to it. Flax seed oil is another good oil, it sort of has a "nutty" taste.
Avatar f tn You should be taking omega 3 in any case. Statins, by lowering cholesterol, also interfere with the absorption of fat soluble nutrients, which of course includes omega 3. The most important for the heart is EFA, which is found in largest amounts in fish oil, but flax and hemp oil are also very high in omega 3 oils. But omega 3 oils don't do the same thing as statins. Statins lower LDL cholesterol, the bad kind, whereas omega 3 oils provide the good kind of cholesterol, HDL.
703362 tn?1427766328 I love them and used to raise my own exotic chickens and enjoy their fresh eggs - boy do I miss them. You can now buy eggs with Omega 3 (or 6?) in it. They feed flax seeds to the chickens and it makes the eggs even more healthier for you.
Avatar f tn 1. Apples: the fiber helps with constipation. plus, research shows that eating them during pregnancy might reduce your baby's risk of asthma. 2. avocados: they're full of folic acid (critical to fetal brain and nervous-system development) and vitamin B6 (which might help ease morning sickness). 3. Eggs: they deliver one of the best sourxes of protein, a key building block of baby's cells. 4.
Avatar n tn But hemp seeds and flax seeds, while containing some Omega 6 fats, contain high amounts of Omega 3 fats, which are essential for health. Some Omega 6 is also essential for health, as is Omega 9 and other fats.
11634465 tn?1421827735 t be shy with good fats (avocado, grass fed butter, olive oil, nuts, etc), and stay away from fake fats like margarine. Opt for high omega 3 fats, like salmon, avocado, butter, and stay away from omega 6 fats ( sun flower, grape seed, etc). High omega 6 fats cause inflammation in body and promotes diabetic conditions/symptoms. At every meal, eat non starchy veg with meat/fish/eggs, and don't be shy with fats (butter, olive oil, bacon, avocado, etc).
9214378 tn?1408881584 Egg yolks contain about three times the amount of omega-6 to omega-3, so I have always said if you are going to give eggs, give three egg whites to one egg yolk, so the balance becomes stable and beneficial. Egg whites have (obviously) far more omega-3, but they are also high in cholesterol, so feeding too much is not good for a dog's heart or cirulatory system. A much better source of omega-3 is salmon oil, as this has many beneficial properties and is easy to digest.
Avatar n tn Take fish oil capsules which contain omega-3 oils, these are known to block cholesterol formation in bile. Monosaturated fats in small amounts may be taken. Best luck and regards!
Avatar m tn Fish oil pills are an excellent way to raise your HDL and lower LDL due to the high content of the Omege 3 fatty acids that they contain. Anything that has a high Omega 3 content will have this effect, such as flax seed. Most commercial eggs are commonly high in Omega 6 fatty acids due to the fact that they are raised in cages and eat the seeds of plants that have a high Omega 6 content. Omega 6 fatty acids have the effect of raising LDL levels in the blood.
671251 tn?1236116671 I checked out some library books about childbirth. I got one book about diet called Healthy Eating During Pregnancy. It says that Omega 3 fatty acids are "brain building fats" for the baby's developing brain. It's especially important to eat a lot during the last three months of pregnancy when the brain grows so much. It's also good for the baby's nerves and eyes. Eggs and certain kinds of fish are good sources.
Avatar f tn You are underweight for your height as you stated. You need to consume approximately 2000 calories per day to maintain your weight. Since you are underweight, suggest gaining weight slowly, try to eat a Heart Healthy diet which will give you the nutrients, vitamins and minerals your body needs, and help with possibly preventing future disease states.
Avatar n tn Recommend a Heart Healthy diet to eat which is a moderate fat diet. Moderate fat diet means = use polyunsaturated (omega 3, corn oil, nuts, etc) fats and monounsaturated (olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc) fats, no saturated fats (high fat snack foods, butter, fat spreads) and no trans fats.
Avatar f tn Eat whole foods as much as possible, and not the processed stuff. Eat full fat dairy, and stay away from low fat or no fat dairy. Don't eat low fat or no fat yogurt, as it has same effect as candy in your body. You will be amazed how well this way of eating will stabilize your blood sugar and remove diabetic condition. Try it for one week...you will be amazed at the results. You will see your blood sugar go down and stay down naturally. Good luck.
1655526 tn?1330655629 I know that omega 3 is really supposed to be good for the heart, but I get palps after I take them for 3 days, especially krill oil. I've read in this forum that others have also had adverse reactions to taking this supplement. So I wanted to put this poll out to see how omega 3 affects you. The first time I suspected krill oil, which is supposed to be the best omega 3, I used the process of elimination. Still not believing it I did it a second and third time.
Avatar f tn Dairy products are high in protein but also saturated fats, so eat as little of these as possible. Eggs are ok. Nuts are good. If you use milk, use the low fat variety, skimmed/semi-skimmed. Use low fat margarine. Don't be told you can never eat treats again, such as chocolate, or a cake. These are now a treat rather than a daily feast. If you eat a bar of chocolate twice a week, this is not going to affect your cholesterol.
Avatar f tn pasta), low fat and substitute dairy products (1% milk, low fat/fat free yogurts, low fat soy milk/soy yogurt), use plant oils, non trans-fat margarines, and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. Eat daily high fiber breads and cereals (oatmeal). Make sure you eat 3 meals a day with snacks between and you will be able to maintain your weight. Thank you for your question.
11028904 tn?1414689882 What works best is low carb, moderate protein and balance of calories from fats like olive oil, butter, avocado, coconut oil (stay away from margarine or high omega 6oils). Typical meal would look like green or non starchy veg with meat/fish/eggs and healthy fats. Stay away from starchy and sugary stuff like pasta, bread, rice, flour, etc. limit fruits to rare treat.
Avatar f tn Another benefit of fish is the fatty acids it contains, particularly, the Omega 3. This can be obtained via a supplement if you can eat fish.
Avatar f tn I have been reading a lot online about mast cell tumors, how to treat them, etc. I have decided to change my dogs diet to the Canine Cancer Diet... low carb, high fat, high protein, homecooked. I have already added fish oil supplement (human grade) I squeeze it out of the liquid capsule and the same for Vitamin E. First... I have read conflicting information about the types of Omegas some say you need 3 & 6, while others say not to Omega 6 because it can cause cancer to grow.
Avatar f tn Eat lean sources of protein, such as beef, pork, white-meat chicken and fish. Beans, eggs, nuts, seeds, tofu and low-fat dairy foods are nutritious sources of protein as well. Too much protein can cause dehydration and calcium loss. Healthy unsaturated fats supply you with long lasting energy to play sports. Eat avocados, salmon, walnuts and olive oil to ensure that you consume plenty of healthy fats, such as omega-3 fatty acids.
Avatar m tn Be aware that OMEGA-3 has anti agregants effects, therefore I would not use it one week before of any intervention. In the other hand, there are studies that show better recovery if high dose of Q10 has been used before the cardiac intervention. However, going into the operation theater, I would not take anything without previously discuss it with the doctor.
Avatar f tn My prenatal have everything But omega 3 when do I start taking it? I'm 18 weeks.
Avatar n tn Good post cholecystectomy foods include beets, cucumbers, okra, sweet potatoes, avocadoes, acidic foods, and foods high in Omega-3 fatty acids. Foods to be avoided after gallbladder surgery include trans fats, saturated fats, dairy, eggs, coffee and black tea, most fruit juices, alcohol, chocolate, cabbage, and radishes. (Graefer 2007) According to one study (Porr et al. 2004), some cases of post cholecystectomy syndrome are caused by magnesium deficiency.
