Common Questions and Answers about Omega 3 eggs eat

omega-3

Avatar m tn Quite a complex topic this but at the same time an interesting one. Omega 3 isn't just one substance, Omega three are fatty acids just like Omega 6 fatty acids found in oils and meat etc. Omega 3 are EPA, DHA, and ALA . Some experts have said that the balance between Omega 6 fatty acids and Omega 3 is key, but just as many say this is nonsense. Omega 3 do have benefits, mainly reducing inflammation in the body, such as in the arteries or joints.
Avatar f tn Yeah It's Ok to eat..
Avatar f tn Now. Or my prenatal is a gummy and it has DHA already in it. Its called Vitafusion.
Avatar n tn No seafood or undercooked meat. You can eat fruits, veggies, and protein. The only seafood you can have a tiny bit of is tilapia because it's very low in mercury and carries Omega 3 vitamins which is good for the baby's brain development, and drink tons and tons of water.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if I can just take an omega-3 supplement, or should I eat all the foods this app is telling to to get it. I'm not much of a fish eater.
Avatar f tn Things with protein , iron , omega 3 , tilapia is very good for omega 3 and safe during pregnancy . Stay away from fish high in mercury like tuna . You can eat it but not alot and not often . I eat 5-6 small meals a day . Milk i very good and of course water . Avocado is good . Leafy veggies are the best kinds of veggies , and basically anything you really crave .
9214378 tn?1408881584 Egg yolks contain about three times the amount of omega-6 to omega-3, so I have always said if you are going to give eggs, give three egg whites to one egg yolk, so the balance becomes stable and beneficial. Egg whites have (obviously) far more omega-3, but they are also high in cholesterol, so feeding too much is not good for a dog's heart or cirulatory system. A much better source of omega-3 is salmon oil, as this has many beneficial properties and is easy to digest.
Avatar f tn you know, I haven't been taking the Omega 3 since I got pregnant - they make me nauseous. I just take my prenatals daily. I try to eat healthy(doesn't always happen) but i do try. I didnt take any Omega 3 with my other kids and their fine, so oh well.
198942 tn?1236316304 We all need the essential fatty acids to stay healthy, and oils that are high in Omega 3 oils, we get enough Omega 6 oils in our diets through eggs and such. The omega 3 is best obtained from fish, and I take a fish oil supplement for my heart and general brain health, it is in liquid form and not too bad once you get used to it. Flax seed oil is another good oil, it sort of has a "nutty" taste.
671251 tn?1236116671 and the sardines were very safe for consumption, so I would eat probably about 3 or 4 cans a week. It really is so important to eat healthy during pregnancy, it really benefits your little bundle of joy!
703362 tn?1427766328 I love them and used to raise my own exotic chickens and enjoy their fresh eggs - boy do I miss them. You can now buy eggs with Omega 3 (or 6?) in it. They feed flax seeds to the chickens and it makes the eggs even more healthier for you.
Avatar m tn Fish oil pills are an excellent way to raise your HDL and lower LDL due to the high content of the Omege 3 fatty acids that they contain. Anything that has a high Omega 3 content will have this effect, such as flax seed. Most commercial eggs are commonly high in Omega 6 fatty acids due to the fact that they are raised in cages and eat the seeds of plants that have a high Omega 6 content. Omega 6 fatty acids have the effect of raising LDL levels in the blood.
Avatar f tn You should be taking omega 3 in any case. Statins, by lowering cholesterol, also interfere with the absorption of fat soluble nutrients, which of course includes omega 3. The most important for the heart is EFA, which is found in largest amounts in fish oil, but flax and hemp oil are also very high in omega 3 oils. But omega 3 oils don't do the same thing as statins. Statins lower LDL cholesterol, the bad kind, whereas omega 3 oils provide the good kind of cholesterol, HDL.
Avatar n tn Ohh never mind here I googled my self just for a quick find for you Its long!! Soft cheeses It's best to avoid cheeses such as Brie, goat, Camembert, feta, queso blanco, and blue or other veined varieties. Why? They may be unpasteurized and contaminated with listeria -- bacteria that can trigger food poisoning.
1655526 tn?1330655629 m not a big fish eater, but I do eat it once in a while, probably is better to get the omega 3 that way and not to over do it.
Avatar f tn Thanks guys!
Avatar m tn Many studies are exposed everyday. My opinion is this : try to eat food which contain omega 3 such as sardines or salmon etc If it is difficult for you I would suggest omega 3 capsules but I would also suggest you to confirm this with your doctor because all capsules are not the same!
Avatar f tn What brand of Omega 3's are you using? I have been taking just the Kroger brand Omega 3's with fish oil concentrate. Should I maybe look at the health food store for some that are especially for pregnancy? Thanks!
Avatar f tn A half-cup of cottage cheese, 1 cup of yogurt or 1 ounce of hard cheese provide between 10 and 15 ounces of protein, approximately one third of your daily protein requirement. Omega-3 fatty acids. The nutrient is necessary for learning, concentration and memory, it’s essential to provide your brain with an adequate supply. If you don't like salmon, sardines or trout, walnuts, hazelnuts or cashews are good alternatives. Omega-3 supplements are also available in capsule form.
296340 tn?1336164001 Nuts and seeds, including almonds, walnuts and pumpkin seeds, are a great source of fatty acids. Omega 3 and omega fatty acids are hormone regulators and vital to a woman’s fertility since a hormonal imbalance can interfere with ovulation. Cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, cabbage and cauliflower, contain Vitamin A as well as a substance called di-indolylmethane, which regulates the metabolism of estrogen that is essential for keeping fertility hormones in check.
Avatar n tn That could make a difference. Good news is chocolate especially dark chocolate raises HDL along with Omega 3. Buy omega 3 eggs and salmon is very good at raising HDL.
Avatar f tn To find what works for you, get a BG meter, keep a log of time - what you eat - BG test before you eat, 1 hour after you eat, 2 hours after you eat. If BG is over 140 eat less carbs or take more drugs.
