I stay away from it. I did find an article once that said its good for the heart but people with arrythmias it can make them go into life threating ones.

1253197 tn?1331209110 by George Jelinek and he had some interesting info and particularly advocated vitamin D, Omega 3 Fish Oils and a vegetarian fat free diet. I was interested to read about Omega 6 Fish Oils which he indicated are not good for anyone with MS so I believe that means evening primrose oil is not a good supplement for us to take. Anyhow I hope this post will attract some interesting helpful responses. Thanking you in advance and wishing everyone a very Happy New Year.
Avatar f tn 5 miles and I could feel my heart jumping everywhere then I started taking Omega 3 1200 mg 3 times a day and within a week I would not feel any pvc while jogging, well it's been about 2 months and there are some days I do not feel any pvc and if I forget to take it for a day or two then I would feel about 10 or 20 the next day but never while jogging. hope it helps.

Avatar f tn I take one to fight babybrain. Omegas are stripped from myelin shealths during pregnancy and since they act as lubricant in the conduction of, essentially thoughts, our thought process is slowed. I didn't ask my doc about it yet but it does clear up fog in my brain.
Avatar f tn you know, I haven't been taking the Omega 3 since I got pregnant - they make me nauseous. I just take my prenatals daily. I try to eat healthy(doesn't always happen) but i do try. I didnt take any Omega 3 with my other kids and their fine, so oh well.

628735 tn?1273875777 that Sprouts produces they have a big article and it is all about the same, it states Try a blend of EPA and DHA at 250mgs for ages 3-6 and 500mgs 7-11 1000mgs for age 11 plus also stating that instead of reaching for Ritalin or prozac consider if they are getting enough magnesium.says the author of Magnesium Miracle" Carolyn Dean MD ND some interesting stuff that I am going to digest.

There are many balanced blends of omega-3/omega-6. How much to use can vary from 1 to 2 tablespoons and sometimes 3 tablespoons daily. Start with 2 tablespoons daily and look for changes over six to eight weeks. After that time, if your skin is less or no longer dry, the amount can be adjusted.

Omegas 3 / 6 are polyunsaturated oils that help lower cholesterol and help prevent blood platelets from clotting blood vessel walls. The best source is fish especially mackerel, tuna, salmon, and lake trout. Fish should be eaten 2-3 times a week. Omega 3 are found in whole nuts, soy nuts / oil, and canola oil. Recommend 1-2 teaspoons of nuts daily. Hope this answered your question.

Avatar m tn Now don't misunderstand me everyones condition is different I have 2 factors for having clots and I have a filter in me I was taking a host of different supplements and still had clots.
Avatar n tn I was taking fish oil supplements and observed an increase in my PVCs to the point, where I was having severe decrease in my BP. I stopped the Omega-3 supplement and the PVCs went away. Interestingly, I have started eating eggs that are high in Omega-3 and have started observing an increase in my PVCs again. I will now stop eating those and which to cereal and see what happens.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you are taking WAY too much omega-3!!!! Most doctors don't recommend even taking supplements because it can be extremely dangerous. It is very easy to take too much. An omega-3 overdose is likely to cause any of the usual omega-3 side effects, but perhaps more severely. In particular, stomach upset can be expected.
