But seroquel range is large in the sense that 900mg of seroquel (theoretically the max therapeutic dose) is equivalent to 20mg of olanzapine (again max therap..) which means that reducing olanzapine by 2.5 is like reducing seroquel by about 100mg which is very large (google for the equivalence of antipsychotics e.g. 1mg risperidone is equivalent to 100 seroquel, etc...) i suggest you fix your dose (ask your pdoc of course) to 2.5 but add 1mg of benzo say to supplement it.

The above chart is right because I know well that olanzapine dose is 5-20mg so 20 is max therapeutic dose. Also for seroquel max is 600 (and never exceed 900). Which also means don't exceed 6 for risperidione. So i concluded that my dose can be considered either 2mg of risperidone or 200mg seroquel so in fact it isn't huge i suppose. Talked to my pdoc yesterday about a long term drug. I'm taking Seroquel and Escitalopram at the mo. Seroquel is not approved here as along term maintenance drug and she has suggested either valproate or olanzapine as I can't take Lithium because of blood pressure issues and a possibility of kidney failure. I am very sensitive to drugs and usually take the lowest does possible as I get all the rare side effects. I only take 50mg of Seroquel and thats enough to bring me down.

I am no Dr. but if that's what your doc said to do...it is probably fine. If you don't feel comfortable you can always ask him/her to ween you off of the olazapine slowly. But, seroquel is a strong drug..so, I think you will be fine. But, again, I am no dr.

So once you start treatment, your doctor may adjust your prescription to a higher dose if the starting dose is not effective. 50mg of seroquil I assume is at bed time, because that is a low dose. I take 125 @bed time.Back to the lamictal 25mg. is usuall a intro dose .900 mg of lithium is on the low side but acceptable I use to take 900 up to 1200. Hello, I have been diagnosed and treated for psychotic depression, OCD, anxiety for last few years. I was on olanzapine for 1 year (5mg), and it worked like making me sleepy really quickly and knocked me out in within 10 mins. Then I was on and off basis as I was not so glad to taking medications because all next I was sleepy. Recently my condition has worsened and I am taking 2.5 mg as said by doctor (take when required and your condition etc).

I was put on olanzapine an anti phycotic on top of my fluvoxamine meleate 200mg for deap depression after and home invasion. While the olanzaoine was helpful with my depression i think it was also causing leg pain. the longer I took it for the worse the pain got and more pain meds I needed to take to get threw my day to just walk. Once I was strong enough to come off olanzapine I weaned my self off and the leg pain started to get better over time.

The most positive advice I can give you is to move back up to a small dose of olanzapine and then start tapering back down from that dose. For example, if your last dose of the medication was X, then take X-1 (sorry, I don't know the dosages) and taper back down off of that dose. When I was tapering off of Celexa, I was literally doing it in around 1-2 mg increments every week or so; cutting little pieces of the medication.

s rather rare that patients take such little dose that is active. For instance seroquel is 25mg is enough for me and active.
