The two meds that sorted my ultradian cycling with mixed states were olanzapine ( weight side effect though) and lamotragine which was a shame because I got the dreaded rash. quitiepine stopped me in my tracks litterally I was like a zombie, not sure if this helps but really a pdoc would be better than a gp?

There are other medications in the same class as Abilify that may be less expensive (atypical antipsychotics like quetiapine, olanzapine, risperidone, etc.). Have you tried any of those? At the time I was also taking a medication that was an Alpha antagonist. First Olanzapine then Quetiapine (both antipsychotics, prescribed to me for insomnia and anxiety, would not recommend either one unless you are desperate). Have you talked to your doctor about them? I have heard a medication called clonidine taken at bedtime can reduce, or in some cases, eliminate nocturnal panic attacks. Also, have you been checked for sleep apnea?

I saw a psychologist who gave me olanzapine to take and suggested I may be bipolar but I have refused to go back as I do not respect their opinion as they assumsed to think I was either bipolar or normal and did not take into consideration any other disorders. I was put on olanzapine an anti phycotic on top of my fluvoxamine meleate 200mg for deap depression after and home invasion. While the olanzaoine was helpful with my depression i think it was also causing leg pain. the longer I took it for the worse the pain got and more pain meds I needed to take to get threw my day to just walk. Once I was strong enough to come off olanzapine I weaned my self off and the leg pain started to get better over time.

While I have not taken it, I know that a good deal of the antipsychotics out there, including olanzapine, can cause sedation. Antipsychotics can also be activating where they will cause insomnia if you take them before falling asleep. I'm sure there are people here who have taken it and experienced sedation.

Will Olanzapine help with withdrawals from Oxycodone. I am down to 10mg of Oxy and it has been a fight for me.. I did wean myself off Hydrocodone which made me happy but then I got on oxy 30 mg and have reduced my dosage. Will this medicine help me.

in continuation to above from 11 th june to 15th june 2012 i was on quetiapine half of 25 mg and one side my head started paining. so on 15th june i took 25 mg quetiapine and stopped and started with 1 tab of2.5 mg trifluoperazine and 1mg trihexyphenidyle hydrochloride, 1 aripiprazole and 1mg lorazepam which ihave now reduced to half as per above. before all of this i was on olanzapine and fluozetine combo, 1 tab of 2.

I am currently on 200mg Quetiapine and 30mg Cipralex in the morning. 100mg Quetiapine at noon, and 300mg Quetiapine at night, along with 50mg Clonazapam. I tried taking Zeldox, as I gained a lot of weight from the Quetiapine, but the Dr. made it an add on and kept me on the Quetiapine as well. I had very bad side effects, and got off the Zeldox immediately. I told my doctor about it, and she changed the Zeldox, which was 80mg daily to Abilify, which I take 10mg in the morning and 10mg at noon.

Hi there. I have had tachycardia for a long time which is normally around 120 bpm but last night I took my pulse just before I went to bed and it was at 150 bpm. This was at resting. I had an ECG a while ago which was normal. Also I have lost a bit of weight recently and can now feel my pulse in my abdomen just below the ribcage. I am 29, am taking quetiapine as without I don't sleep at all and weigh around 90kg. Just wondering if I should do anything about this?

5mg and Buproprion XL 300mg... After a couple months and not much change my doctor adds in Olanzapine 5mg, problem is I've been doing a bit of research online and am now too nervous to take the Olanzapine(Zyprexa) with the Clonazepam(Klonopin). Every thing I've seen has basically said that these two can interact very badly causing shallow breathing, loss of consciousness, etc. It would be much appreciated if I could get some feedback from anyone who has taken the two together.
