Avatar f tn Like you leg pain could be caused by extra restlessness caused by increased drug matabolism regarding the interaction with both drug or simple adverse reaction from olanzapine that can get worse by increased drug metabolism.
Avatar n tn i was at 4mgs of klonopin a day and 4 mgs of lorazepam a night. now im down to 1.5 mgs of clonazepama dn 23mgs of lorazepam. i dont ever have any problems with the two but i personally know ppl who have died from benzo and methadone combos.
Avatar f tn In order to wean off of the lorazepam, you will have to decrease the dose very slowly. If you are currently taking one 1mg tablet at bedtime, you can decrease that to 0.5mg (half a tablet) at bedtime for a week or so. If that doesn’t work, you can try to cut the tablets into quarters and take 0.75mg. Just monitor how you feel to be sure you are not experiencing withdrawal symptoms. I would also discuss this with your prescribing physician as well.
Avatar f tn 1/4 of 20 fluoxetine and 5mg olanzapine combo and 3/4 lorazepam is high or low.
Avatar f tn I am not an expert but did check this out on a "drug interaction" site. There doenst show to be an interaction between these two medications but..........since ativan induces sleep and so does the Diphenhydramine portion in the Excedrin PM, the two together can compound (increase) the drowisness. Therefor I cant know if it is safe for you, sorry.
Avatar m tn Surely I took : Olanzapine, Aripiprazole, Lorazepam, quetiapine and Zypadhera. Maybe: more... It was not for depression, bipolar nor schizophrenia, but for some other thing, that is similar to schizophrenia.

736314 tn?1276884623 I take lorazepam for my anxiety and the pdoc just started me on buspar. I feel like i am so high. I stumble around the house and start talking to myself and everything seems to be in slow motion. Will this go away or do i need to talk to the pdoc about this?
Avatar f tn More than 100 medications interact with alcohol, leading to increased risk of illness, injury and, in some cases, death. The effects of alcohol are increased by medicines that slow down the central nervous system, such as sleeping pills, antihistamines, antidepressants, antianxiety drugs, and some painkillers. In addition, medicines for certain disorders, including diabetes and heart disease, can be dangerous if used with alcohol.

Avatar n tn I have been taking Lorazepam occationally for the last couple years. For the last six months I have taken a regular dose of .5 mg in the morning and .5 at bedtime. A month ago I was feeling so anxious that my doctor had me increase my dose to 1 mg in the morning and 1 mg at night. A week ago I decided to take myself off the lorazepam. Well, I am afraid that I have done it too quickly. Basically in a week I have gone from 2 mg to zero. The last few days I have had all kinds of symptoms e.g.
Avatar f tn While I have not taken it, I know that a good deal of the antipsychotics out there, including olanzapine, can cause sedation. Antipsychotics can also be activating where they will cause insomnia if you take them before falling asleep. I'm sure there are people here who have taken it and experienced sedation.
6452367 tn?1430944592 Will Olanzapine help with withdrawals from Oxycodone. I am down to 10mg of Oxy and it has been a fight for me.. I did wean myself off Hydrocodone which made me happy but then I got on oxy 30 mg and have reduced my dosage. Will this medicine help me.
Avatar n tn Both Olanzapine and Resperidone are atypical antipsychotics. So, basically, you will be taking the same class of antipsychotics. Resperidone is however a very potent antipsychotic. The response to treatment has been found to be more stable with Resperidone, so that’s a plus point with this drug. Both drugs cause similar side effects, but Olanzapine shows fewer motor function side effects than Resperidone in comaparative clinical trials.
Avatar f tn They took me to psychiatrist that put me on olanzapine 10mg and kept me in the hospital for 10 days. Traumatic experience. Than after 2-3 months the doctor put me on 7mg, and now I'm on 5 mg olanzapine. It was harder to cope with rest of the world the first few mounts. I didn''t want to do the things I wanted, It was hard to cope with my previous social life, I felt like I have nothing to talk to my friends, like my brain is empty, like I'm brain washed.
603015 tn?1329862973 Hi I have started to tapper off olanzapine because of the weight gain, I have noticed that after just a week on the reduced amount I have started to have sleep problems, I am finding it harder and harder to get to sleep, then when I do get to sleep I am waking through the night, could this be the reduction in the med and what should I do if anything, im not due to see me pdoc until 1 june when I would be fully off this med.
Avatar f tn 5mg and Buproprion XL 300mg... After a couple months and not much change my doctor adds in Olanzapine 5mg, problem is I've been doing a bit of research online and am now too nervous to take the Olanzapine(Zyprexa) with the Clonazepam(Klonopin). Every thing I've seen has basically said that these two can interact very badly causing shallow breathing, loss of consciousness, etc. It would be much appreciated if I could get some feedback from anyone who has taken the two together.
Avatar f tn I have been on olanzapine for 15 years and has helped me greatly with anxiety, and other mental health conditions. I am 35 years old and have over the past 7 weeks experienced extreme pain in my feet and ankles. I had also over the past 6 months experienced tingling in the feet and legs which I believe is a side effect of long term use off olanzapine. I have been very concerned over the servere pain in my feet as it is all over the foot and can be painful to walk on.
Avatar m tn Last night I took my first olanzapine pill(5mg), for panic attacks and apparently I did some weird things in my sleep. My girlfriend said my legs were twitching, and sounded like I was choking when I was snoring. It only happened last night, and not this morning when I was sleeping. I feel normal today, just a little dizzy(I slept 15 hours). Is this normal?? Thanks Also, I can't stop sleeping!
Avatar m tn Hello, I have been diagnosed and treated for psychotic depression, OCD, anxiety for last few years. I was on olanzapine for 1 year (5mg), and it worked like making me sleepy really quickly and knocked me out in within 10 mins. Then I was on and off basis as I was not so glad to taking medications because all next I was sleepy. Recently my condition has worsened and I am taking 2.5 mg as said by doctor (take when required and your condition etc).
Avatar m tn Hi there So I'm not officially bipolar but I've had to deal with highs and lows for a long time, with antidepressants either not working or sending me walking with angels and talking to trees....After this I took olanzapine 5mg. I think it worked on the mood but it's hard to tell because they made me so unbelievably anxious, whilst sedating me so that I felt I couldn't participate in conversations because my thinking was so slowed.
