Avatar f tn I am going to lose my health insurance soon. I was wondering if anyone knows of any government programs I can participate in in order to afford doctors appointments and delivery.
Avatar f tn Call your health plan provider. It's different with each state, I believe.
Avatar n tn As of May 2004, forty-six states have some type of laws requiring health insurance coverage to include treatment for diabetes. The states not included are Alabama, Idaho, North Dakota and Ohio. In 2002, Georgia and Wisconsin each passed an expansion of current coverage requirements. In 2003 Hawaii adopted a resolution to clarify its mandate of diabetes education coverage." I am just complaining about the high cost of insurance, I guess.
Avatar n tn Check the laws in ur state about coerced rehab. In the state of Ohio judges typically don't do it....and in rehab facilities if the person is blatantly refusing it they don't admit them for it stirs the other patients up...causes havoc...and addicted patients are difficult to deal with in detox and on a rehab unit in early phase.Another issue is who will pay for it?Does she have health care insurance?it looks like she's being charged w/misdemeanors...

2073947 tn?1333731698 The good news is that Dr. Heffez's office has received my information/MRIs. The bad news is that he doesn't take my insurance (which I kind of figured). So, as of right now, I only seem to have one other option (Dr. Jamie Baisden) who I KNOW does accept my insurance. Anyone else have any ideas for a NS in the Milwaukee area?
290867 tn?1333569278 Something I learned from our insurance agent is that if you currently have health ins. MOST ins companies will pick you up if you choose to go with them. We were worried about not being able to switch because of pre-existing conditions, but she said we don't have to worry about that.
Avatar f tn m a little under 5 weeks. Could I possibly pay out of pocket or get insurance that covers it for the time being? Or should I just be patient?
Avatar f tn You are way past the enrollment period to get gov. Subsidized health insurance - insurance that you would have received a tax break on and the type that is heavily regulated in what they can and cannot do. Because you had access to health insurance and chose to remain uninsured you may not be able to get an insurance company to cover any of your prenatal care, because it is a preexisting condition.
Avatar f tn The affordable health care act isn't actually insurance, its just a new set id laws that require more robust benefits and standards for health insurance companies. There is also a marketplace that you can search through to find the right insurance plan for you. You can compare the different insurances available and find out what the prices are in your state. In some cases you can receive government subsidies to help pay the costs if you can't afford it all yourself. Healthcare.
Avatar f tn Here is one of the references, written by an Ohio lawyer, that says you can divorce in Ohio even if you are pregnant. Whether you want to is a different question, but apparently there is no law preventing it, just possibly some custom. http://www.avvo.com/legal-answers/can-i-get-a-divorce-while-pregnant-in-ohio--300638.
393685 tn?1425812522 The guidance was issued to explain the relationship between the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) Privacy Rule and “to address apparent confusion on the part of school administrators, health care professionals, and others as to how these two laws apply to records maintained on students.” Hospitals are, of course, familiar with HIPAA.
Avatar m tn I'm a Northeast Ohio(specifically the Youngstown/Akron/Cleveland area) resident living daily in absolute HELL!!!! I have been, up till a month ago been being treated by an amazing doctor for my many pain management issues as well as my depression & high blood pressure. Avatar m tn s 88 counties has a CSEA, staffed by people well-versed in Ohio laws and practices and who can answer your questions and explain your rights. Application for establishing paternity and/or child support: If you are not now receiving any Ohio public assistance, you need to complete and submit a form called "Application for Child Support Services, Non-Public Assistance Applicant (JFS 07076)." Avatar n tn com/health-insurance-101/when-you-are-expecting. I would recommend checking out your state laws -- some states allow maternity-only health insurance to be sold, other states require that any policy written has maternity insurance included, and still others have no rules on the topic.
Avatar f tn You might want to reapply for approval because I was just informed by my insurance co. that the new health care laws go into effect today which eliminates lifetime limits, pre-existing conditions, and other things that I used to have.
Avatar n tn HIPAA has many limitations including not protecting those who are individually insured, not offering protection for disability and life insurance, and HIPAA does not prohibit using genetic information as a basis for charging a group more for health insurance. Because of the limitations of HIPAA, several states have enacted their own laws to provide additional protection against genetic discrimination.
1755386 tn?1312584941 The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA) gives you the right to see your medical records. Ohio laws also give you rights in your medical record. In most cases, copies of your medical records must be provided to you within 30 days of your written request. This may be extended another 30 days but it is required that you be given a reason for the delay. Some records may be withheld and not provided to you. Eg: records that the provider deems may be harmful to you.
1721912 tn?1309394544 I know this might not help, but I would strongly recommend getting health insurance before getting pregnant. Some insurances will not accept you if you have a preexisting condition like pregnancy. And paying for pregnancy out of pocket would cost a ton of $$$$$ If you can go to a specialist they will be able to research and do what they: for example let you know if you are ovulating etc....and why you are bleeding that much.
Avatar n tn I have just found out that my Health Insurance co is going into liquidation. This is a great concern for me. I am in the process of getting tests/screening for colon cancer. I haven't done any tests yet. They are schedule for June. I will not be able to go thru with this if I do not have coverage. The colonoscopy alone is too expensive. My question is will another company pick me up with this condition already on the table??? What should I do? What are my options?
