Upon reading through the forums related to STDs, found out that some folks were prescribed with ofloxacin. Without consulting a doctor, I am self medicating now after googling what's ofloxacin is for. 3 days ago I took 2 400mg and subsequently 200mg every 12 hours. So far, the irritation when I'm urinating and the tingling has subsided significantly. My question is, shall I still continue taking the ofloxacin until the 7th or 10th day from the day I started taking it?
I am currently taking ofloxacin (local meds) 400 mg 3x a day for 5 days for my uti. Will it also cure any possible std(gonorrhea/chlamydia) if i have one?
Then I got a Urinary Tract Infection (Cystitis) in the 7th week of potential exposure (after 45 days). But with a dose of Satrogil-O (Satranidazole and Ofloxacin), the same got cured and the infection was clear in the urine test that followed. The CBC done was absolutely normal. I have little painless cracks on my tongue which the doctor says is due to Vitamin deficiency.
However, it is now 10 weeks of potential exposure. I have experienced no Flu, Fever etc.
On 3/21/07 she had stomach flu,5/24/07 she woke up with a bloody looking eye it's ALWAYS on the same eye (right)on the inner part of the sclera & it never spreads to the other eye,she always says it hurts & it swells up a little. Her pediatrician thought it was conjuvitis & rx Ofloxacin .3% it cleared up in 3 days.

I'm a 40 year-old American living in Thailand. A few months ago I had unprotected sex with a female coworker. About 10-12 days later I noticed a burning sensation in the tip of my penis (it felt similar to when soap gets in the urethra). The burning intensified over the next few days. It does not hurt when I urinate and no need to urinate more than normal. There is no discharge - just a slight whitish mucous visible only if I squeeze the tip. Co-worker has no symptoms.

Early this year over new year I was submitted to hospital for emergency treatment on a corneal ulcer and was kept in hospital for three days and given intensive treatment of ofloxacin eye drops every hour, then released from hospital and continued to be on ofloxacin eye drops every 2 hours and steroid drops every 2 hours with frequent visits to the hospitals eye clinic to monitor my progress.
The reactivity of 13 quinolones (levofloxacin, ofloxacin, pefloxacin, enoxacin, moxifloxacin, gatifloxacin, trovafloxacin, sparfloxacin, lomefloxacin, ciprofloxacin, clinafloxacin, norfloxacin, and nalidixic acid) was tested in 5 commercial opiate screening assays from September 1998 to March 1999. i may have taken ofloxacin and prednisolone eye drops in my eye 5 times in a day instead of the 4 times like i was supposed to do.will it cause any harm?
from all the antibiotics i finished and took, i find ofloxacin the most effective. is it safe to take ofloxacin again for 7 days, twice a day? or will the bacteria i have get immuned to it? im planning to go to the doc tomorrow and probably ask for a injection this time and std check up if they can.
Over this time I have taken azithromizing one dose, metronidizole one dose, nitrofuaretoin low dose for 5 days, oxytetracycline 7 days and have just been given ofloxacin 7 days and aciclover 5 days at same time to cover hsv a uti and prostatis.
Any comments on my treatment as I feel like the doctors could just be throwing antibiotics at me?
Would could it be? Yeast? Mycoplasma? Uti? Prostatis? Herpes?
Could I be having a first hsv outbreak about 10 years after I may have unknowingly caught it?
He also took two swab sample from my penis for STD testing and also gave e Ofloxacin for 10 days since he thought the pain was due to an infection. Two days later I was still worried and so I went and saw my family doctor and he told me that STD's wouldn't make sense in my case since I didn't have symptoms to make it plausible.
I think it's 40, but surely if there are special considerations, i.e. your having had bc, or she has symptoms, etc, a mammogram can be done earlier.
This baseline view is important to have and usually it's recommended around the age of 40?
On the other hand, and since your daughter is breast feeding, it may be good to wait until she stops nursing for the purpose of getting a more accurate picture.

then 2 years later i had a smilar sexual contact, after years of only sex with my wife, and it started again, the same way, only i was in a different city and my urologist, after negative urine screens for chlamydia and gonnorhea tried a brief course of antibiotics (ofloxacin) and said i just need to live with it as it is not worth trying to treat it.
He puts me on Ofloxacin for a week. After about a week I feel better. My wife and I have sex, with her giving me oral sex. Coincidentally, about 5-7 days later she starts to complain that her throat and ear are burning, and at the same time my symptoms return. I received a swab test again for STD and negative, and a urinalysis, which says I have no bacterial infection. I am worried I have passed something on to her.
