i may have taken ofloxacin and prednisolone eye drops in my eye 5 times in a day instead of the 4 times like i was supposed to do.will it cause any harm?

I don’t know if his eye will heal and be normal or if I’ll have to give him eye drops for the rest of his life, much less, which eye drops do I give him?! (tear production drops, artificial tears, Tacrolimus, Genteal, I-Drops, Collidad Silver) I don’t know if the Cyclosporine will help produce tears or if it will give him cancer. I don’t know if he will go blind or they will want to take his eye out! I know one thing for sure, the saliva duct surgery sounds awful! Sorry for going on and on.

Used the perscribed drops and the pink was gone instantly.Apo-Ofloxacin drops,Combigan drops and Maxidex drops which one cleared the eye instantly?Hope this was not pink eye.Does this sound like pink eye in the lefteye? Confused Patient.

Hi forum, Early this year over new year I was submitted to hospital for emergency treatment on a corneal ulcer and was kept in hospital for three days and given intensive treatment of ofloxacin eye drops every hour, then released from hospital and continued to be on ofloxacin eye drops every 2 hours and steroid drops every 2 hours with frequent visits to the hospitals eye clinic to monitor my progress.

For the cataract surgery, it is every 2 hours!!! Eye drops, eye drops and more eye drops. Then more eye drops for the dry eye that the other drops cause. On and on. No end.

Can I use restasis eye drops on my dog? The vet I use to have made his own eye drops for her and made her eye worse and I live in a small rural community and he's the only vet in the area so don't really want to trust him again.

I have an 8 yr old yorkie with severe dry eye. She has had it for several yrs and did pretty good. I was putting 4 kinds of eye drops in her eyes as often as possible. The last 3 or 4 mos her eye has stopped responding to the drops. I've changed all the drops that I give her, added liver happy and cod liver oil to her diet, and it has helped some. Does anyone have any other suggestions that I might try. I do not want her to lose her eye sight.

I just went through cataract surgery in November. It can be very worth it but there is a lot of aftercare and there can be complications. My dog did not have any issues other than the cataracts except for some inflammation. After surgery we had to deal with one minor ulceration and one fairly major ulceration. She is now healed and doing great. She is no longer fearful like she became when she couldn't see, and no longer slamming into walls either!

Hi how's it going? Not too good for me. My left eye has been red only in the corner, it looks like my eye is really strained. It's been going on for about 2 months. I've seen 2 different opthamologist's about 4 times all together. On 3/21/07 she had stomach flu,5/24/07 she woke up with a bloody looking eye it's ALWAYS on the same eye (right)on the inner part of the sclera & it never spreads to the other eye,she always says it hurts & it swells up a little. Besivance may be OK....I am unsure. It would be fine for human use, but is it fine for dogs? I don't know. I would recommend calling your vet to ask advice about safety for its use in dogs. If you are not sure, then make an appointment with your vet for an appropriate antibiotic lotion. Your dog may even need oral antibiotics as well.

If you've been cleaning it yourself, just make sure you don't touch the eyeball & potentially cause more damage. Even soft towel fibers can cause more damage. I'm sure your pet store carries some kind of cleansing/soothing eye drop for dogs. That could be a good place to start to see if it helps her.

Tacrolimus, cyclsporine, pilocarpine, neopolydex, gentamycin, tobramycin, simplicef, gabapenten, genteal drops, oint. gel, refresh, blink, now she is also taking tramadol for pain. She has been wearing the hood for 6 months to prevent her for scratching her eyes. She just turned 4 and and she is in so much pain, We finally decided to have surgery and have found out it is 2600.00 per eye. I am very worried it won't work. Hi Kate..Eye infections are common in dogs......Left untreated, they can cause serious damage to the eyes.....Ask your parents to make a Vet appointment for your dog.....Antibiotic eye drops are used to clear up the infection.....It's very easy treatment and not too expensive... In the mean time, take a warm, soft, wet wash cloth & gently wash the debris from your dogs eyes.....Good luck & let us know.....Eye infections clear up quickly once treatment has began...

My 7 year old Shih tzu has seborrhea on her tail and back, it is seeming to spread. My vet gave me special shampoo (Pyoben) to use to help with it, but the problem is I am not good about giving her baths multiple times a week. Are there any other things that can help with seborrhea?

This will help change the ph in the ear and dry it out but use solution for one day then mix fresh the next day. Do this before putting the drops in that you get from your vet. Don't let the ears go the sooner you treat the easier and less costly to get rid of. I have seen too many ear infections be let go by people and the dogs wind up having to have surgery to remove the entire ear canal it's a shame! Look at earlier posts of mine for allergy suggestions too.

t know if it is depression, the eye drops she is still on. I am trying to get another eye vet with the same clinic to see her but he cannot until next week. I wish I had never put her through all this.
