ofloxacin and omidazole

After having unprotected sex the head of my penis got itchy in the inside of the hole and had a very little amount of discharge. I searched the net to find the answer and the closest to my symptom is urethritis. Upon reading through the forums related to STDs, found out that some folks were prescribed with ofloxacin. Without consulting a doctor, I am self medicating now after googling what's ofloxacin is for. 3 days ago I took 2 400mg and subsequently 200mg every 12 hours.

I'm a 40 year-old American living in Thailand. A few months ago I had unprotected sex with a female coworker. About 10-12 days later I noticed a burning sensation in the tip of my penis (it felt similar to when soap gets in the urethra). The burning intensified over the next few days. It does not hurt when I urinate and no need to urinate more than normal. There is no discharge - just a slight whitish mucous visible only if I squeeze the tip. Co-worker has no symptoms.

For ofloxacin to adequately treat chlamydia, and maybe NGU, 7 days is needed.

On 3/21/07 she had stomach flu,5/24/07 she woke up with a bloody looking eye it's ALWAYS on the same eye (right)on the inner part of the sclera & it never spreads to the other eye,she always says it hurts & it swells up a little. Her pediatrician thought it was conjuvitis & rx Ofloxacin .3% it cleared up in 3 days.

is it possible that the rash is the result of taking the Ofloxacin, and more specifically, perhaps the result of a build up of bacteria (yeast)? If so, will taking the Doxycycline clear up the rash, or will it just increase the amount of yeast bacteria build up, and thus worsen a rash that could be the result of excess candida in the body?

I contracted NGU through oral sex and was prescribed 10 days of Ofloxacin. I had urine test at 21 after the last pill which came out negative. My question is if it was too early to test? I still have clear discharge 1-2 times per week in the morning.

I checkeed with thedoctor with test report of urinalysis and blood CBC. In Urine,they found WBC of 33 and no bacteria..Gave me ofloxacin for 1more week. I am blind in my right eye and although I suffer from a slipped cataract lens in my left eye which causes some problems with light catching the top of the lens, the vision in that eye nevertheless is 20/20. Recently I was prescribed an ear drop ofloxacin which I understand is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic which can cause double vision. Hi forum, Early this year over new year I was submitted to hospital for emergency treatment on a corneal ulcer and was kept in hospital for three days and given intensive treatment of ofloxacin eye drops every hour, then released from hospital and continued to be on ofloxacin eye drops every 2 hours and steroid drops every 2 hours with frequent visits to the hospitals eye clinic to monitor my progress.

Hi Loujack I think there have been some studies showing certain antibiotics can cause false positive urine screenings. Do a search and Ask your DR if they know if it is a possibility for a Urine tox screen to come up dirty if your taking certain anti-biotics. I dont know who else you can go to besides your DR except a lab. They may know also. I hope for your sake that it can happen TMA.

One thing that worries me, I read in some websites, Ofloxacin will mask Syphilis test or symptoms. And I think, Inoflox is Ofloxacin? How about Amoxicilin and Zinnat? My concern is all these antibiotics might mask the Syphilis infection, if I was infected from the exposure causing false negative in the test. Need your advice on this, doctor. What should I do next?

i may have taken ofloxacin and prednisolone eye drops in my eye 5 times in a day instead of the 4 times like i was supposed to do.will it cause any harm?

i took the azithromycin that night but not the cipro since i though i didnt need it after doing some research and the fact the i already took ofloxacin and that i had no discharge, i decided not to take it. the azithromycin didnt work at all and i thought of just leaving it alone and to drink a lot of water. after a month, this time on may 2010 i decided to take the cipro, 7 days twice a day. it didnt work either and here i am now wondering what i really have?
