Not an essential but it has a lot of uses. Also put safety items on there. If u go to babies r us they will set u up with a checklist, packets, magazines coupons and let u walk around the store scanning everything you want!

Bottles,blankets, safety kit, bath care essentials including a rash care cream,paste,or butter, bibs, car seat, swing or rocker, somewhere for baby to sleep,example:(crib,bassinet, co-sleeper, pack n play, or your bed). those are must haves in my opinion, other things are wants.

Got some really cute stuff but im missing essentials like a baby bath, safety stuff, baby gates, and socks. I got soooo many memory books and they are so adorable but i know ill never have time to complete them and having more than one is almost pointless because they all say the same things! I have been a pediatric dental assistant for over 8 years. we sedate 3-4 patients a day in our office(between 3 doctors). We use two medications to sedate our little ones. Chloral Hydrate and Vistaril is what we use. Age 1 to 10 years old. These medications are concious sedation meds. They have a very high index of safety because it is done based on a range of weights. Making it hard to over sed. Unless you just don't go by the guidelines.

In Australia there is a site called kidsafe that rates all available car seats, prams, strollers, cots etc that are available. It rates everything from safety through to prices. Just wondering if perhaps the US has a similar site!
