I used an over-the-counter medicine, Micatin (Miconazole nitrate 2%), for jock itch. It started to sting and burn my skin, so I stopped using it after just two days. I went to a doctor (not a Dermatologist) and he prescribed a cream, Nystatin (100,000 USP) & Triamcinolone (1 mg). After using it for four days, I began to notice that it also had a stinging effect and caused skin distortion (especially the penis head and inner forskin).
I went to sleep with wet balls, and didn't really think too much further than jock itch when I woke up. Sadly, I suill have this rash, and I fear now that it may be something a bit more severe. I haven't noticed any burning sensations. But, I guess I really never know what to expect from the consistency of my semen. I lately have noticed it to be quite runny, and nearly chunky.
I then took a trip to my GP who diagnosed it as mild jock itch and prescribed a Nystatin Triamcinolone Acetonide ointment. I asked him if the rash was just a coincidence with the oral sex and he assured me that it wasn't anything to worry about. I have been on the Nystatin for about 2 weeks now. It keeps the rash at bay, and for all practical purposes it doesn't itch. As of now, the right side is very slowly getting better from what I can tell, but the left side seems to be the same.
I also try not to use daily pantiliners or underwear made of synthetic material. When the skin is inflamed and the itch is impossible to bear I try not to scratch and I use ice involved in a towel to ease and relieve the discomfort. I hope this will help you too. Sorry about my English.
My urologist told me to stop at 10 days, the same time I stopped the Cipro in October. Its called Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream. I have put it on the site since then, and against doctors orders, and it seems to work soon after application.
I had the same thing and it went on for months I was too afraid to go to the doc. All it was... is a type of itching he said like "jock itch" gave me this cream nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream usp. it worked in a matter of 2 days! Go see the doc, its worth it!
I also have a fugus in my groin area being treated with Nystatin/Triamcinolone cream. The nurse wants me to use the same cream on these marks and to abstain from sex until they are better. She doesn't think they are warts. Maybe yeast infection, but she's not sure. What do you think these are?
I am a 38 year old male in a monogamous relationship. For the last 3 years now, I have had recurrent "jock itch" infections. I have been to my GP, been to a Dermatologist, and used every OTC jock itch cream known to man. I've used Gold Bond powders, Miconazole powder, and just plain baby powder. The dermatologist did a fungal smear that came back negative, but he still thought it appeared to be jock itch.
Infectious disease doc did not identify any jock itch. Tested neg for HSV1/2 Igg and HIV at 3 months and Positive for Igg of EBV and CMV with ID doc. Says its not likely Mycoplasma due to the urine analysis and the lack of WBC. He threw out possible auto immune disorder/ Reiter's or MS, but said unlikely. I'm at a standstill. I got a "I don't know from the ID doc" Wondering if anyone has insight to the reason of having NGU/ persistent urethritis?
i went to the doctors office and she said it really didnt look like an std, she gave me nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream. it hasnt let up yet. so i went to the health department and got all the std tests they havent come back yet. but the doctor that looks at all the stds there said she didnt think it was an std either. im just wondering what this could be and how to get rid of it.
This got me all worked up so I went to see my PCP to get it looked at and to get a full STD panel. He stated that it was Jock Itch and then prescribed me clotrimazole. I used this for a little over two week with no results. STD panel excluding herpes at about 4 weeks everything neg. Now 4 weeks of non-stop burning and redness it began to spread to the shaft of my penis. I went to the local walk-in clinic, Dr. looked at it very carefully and stated that it was a yeast infection.
So if another spot does not develop, or if the existing spot doesn't get worse, I shouldn't seek medical treatment? Should I use Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide cream on the spot? If it were herpes, wouldn't it be accompanied with some kind of pain or discomfort? How likely is it that the flat pink spot is a herpes symptom?
didn't seem to be worried unless it resulted in not being able to have children - since then my wife and I have had a son. My wife was prescribed Nystatin Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream for Viginal irriatation (long before I ever noticed these bumps). I would be happy to answer any questions should that help with a possible diagnosis. Thank you for your time. What could this be??
My doctor diagnosed it as a yeast infection similar to jock itch. i was given nystatin/triamcinolone acetonide cream to use. It keeps the rash from getting worse but it has not gone away. my underwear causes irritation. No weeping at the site either and no odor. I do not think it is yeast but do not know what it is. Whay do you think?

Now my scrotum has been red for years but it never used to bother me so I ignored it. Two months ago it started burning and I figured it was jock itch. Over the counter jock itch stuff wasn't working (I even tried Vagisil) so I went to a clinic and they gave me something called Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream. This didn't do anything so I went to a Derm who gave me me pramazone and oxistat cream.
I have a few questions though. Could it be possible for me to have jock itch? and based off the symptoms I've listed, could there be any other conditions than balanoposthitis and prostatitis that exist? And are there any cures or creams you could recommend for me to handle these problems, in case the urologist doesn't have a solution? I apologize for all of this...I know this is a huge problem, but I'm only trying to find a way to end all of my pain and find a cure.
I thought it maybe jock itch and used Lotrimin to no avail. After about 4 days of this I panicked and thought I had a STD and immediately took 1g of azythromicin to kill any Chylamdia or Gonno. That only seemed to make it worse 2 days later. I then went to the DR and he prescibed Diflucan 150mg to be taken along with Nizoral 2% cream as he thought I had a yeast infection from the antibiotic. That helped intitally and then came back.
Whoever posted that the red itching without discharge might be Female jock itch...you saved my life. Seriously I used jock itch cream and within two days it was gone. The directions said to use it for the full two weeks, so that is what I am doing, but it is already better and it has only been about 5 days. Seriously, people, if you have redness and itching around your vagina, with no discharge and only a little bit of flaky white residue...it might be what I had.
I believe the external itching (around the anus and/or labia) to be a female form of jock itch. Every time my husband looses control of his athlete's foot and/or jock itch (these are both commonly caused by the same organism), I end up with the itchy (and eventually burning) labia described in many of the previous entries. Unfortunately, the medical world is not very familiar with jock itch in females.
I was lucky that my symptoms were not ridiculous, but I did self diagnose myself with something super odd based on the edges of the oval, appearance of the 3 small bumps and lack of other symptoms - Female Jock Itch!!! I looked over all of these boards for solutions that people have used on themselves and kids - I bought Betadine, a pack of walmart brand monistat 7 for the cream, and tea tree oil.
and all of a sudden only in the purple of my tattoo it will get puffy and itch..and when i start to itch it spreads and feels all tingly. IT FREAKS ME OUT! So.. this is prob. just a allergic reaction to the ink ..that will eventually go away or no?
My ears have been itchy for so many years that it seems normal to me to have them constantly itch and feel raw. I made numerous trips to the doctor as a kid and even until my early 20s only to be told that I had no ear infection. Now that I have severe GERD I am starting to wonder if these symptoms were a result of acid in my throat at night.
2 months ago i started to notice the web of my fingers start to itch and peel too and now my eyelids are peeling, red, and sometimes itch and its covered my whole eyelid and started to spread around my tear duct. idk what to do im gonna go to the doctor on monday and post what they think and if i did get it from a vaccine im gonna get real pissed.
topicals i've used are dermaplast, vagisil, jock itch relief, and aquaphor-i'm told not recommended by doctor (but most effective?!). most recent episode resulted in a negative culture-whatever that means. my last pill was seasonale and that was over 2 years ago. currently on no other meds (rx and otc). yes! crazy itchy. discovered aquaphor because my son uses it for eczema. it relieves the itch-again, doctor did not like that i used aquaphor down there.
I've had this same thing happen on and off for 6 or 7 years now. The first time it occurred, it affected my entire lower lip and the area below it, approaching my chin. It was horrifying. My skin was just peeling off in very thin layers and it seemed like it didn't have, I dunno, structural integrity or something. It was like pulling apart wet toilet paper or something. It's like I was falling apart. It felt strange when I'd touch the area , like there was plastic wrap over my skin.
unfortunatly we all just talk about it. I saw many web sites and in each one of them many people describe there itch in the same way. Some opportunists try to sale snake oil on internet to make a buck. But there is no any educated doctor to give any explenation.
