Nuvaring when to insert

Common Questions and Answers about Nuvaring when to insert

nuvaring

Avatar f tn s related to the nuvaring and would mention it to your doctor. They may want you to come early to be checked out.
Avatar f tn I will have to touch the sores to be able to effectively insert the nuvaring. Is it safe to do so mid-outbreak or should i wait a few weeks until it clears up. I'm obviously not going to be having sex until the outbreak has cleared.
Avatar n tn I just started on Nuvaring & my doctor had instructed me to put it in on the first & take it out on the 26th of each month. While this makes it easier to remeber when to take in or out, will it change the effectiveness of the medicine? Has anyone ever heard of this method? Is anyone currently practicing this same method? Bottom line is this safe & effective to practice?
Avatar f tn Ok, but if I failed to use a back up method should I consider emergency contraception?
Avatar f tn So I use nuvaring. My periods are always on schedule according to when I insert the ring, and when I take it out. Well, it's been out for 5 days and I haven't gotten my period. I bought a pregnancy test and it was inconclusive. I bought two more and plan on using them tomorrow morning. My main concern though is that I have bipolar disorder and I am on a TON of strong medication for my illness.
Avatar f tn Hi, Im not sure if this will help you but i was on the nuva ring for 4 years and i never experiance what you are experiancing but i did completely miss my period once and when i spoke to my doctor i was told the nuva ring is known to screw with your periods wheather it is getting 2 in one month or not getting one at all. if it keeps happening i would get it check out but if it is a one time thing i wouldnt worry about it.
Avatar n tn If the nuvaring was not remove until 4week after insertion, when removed should you get you cycle right way? And do you count that as your normal cycle?
Avatar n tn t remove my nuvaring to have a period (my doctor said it was completely fine to take out the old one and insert a new one to prevent period.) I take it out usually before sex and wash my hands and rinse the ring off before re-inserting it. About three days ago I had some tingling after urination but not really a burning feeling. This lasted two days and mostly went away, yesterday and today i only get that tingly feeling while peeing when I first wake up.
Avatar n tn but you may want to. The most important thing is to wash it before re-inserting it and to put it back BEFORE the 3 hours is up!
Avatar n tn its not as effective as initial research showed... the package insert and nuvaring website say it is 99% effective... it has recently been shown to be closer to 95%so be careful! several women have been getting pregnant while using nuvaring as directed... i myself am concerned i may be and iv been using it properly for several months!
Avatar f tn I was on the pill for a while and I am too forgetful for that. I'm not really comfortable with using anything that has more hormones in it than the pill does.
Avatar f tn I looked at the package insert for both my old pill and new pill, and they both said that when switching pills, to take the 21 active pills, and the 7 inactive placebos and then to resume the new pack on your normal date and time which is exactly what I did. Since it does NOT say backup is required when switching if you follow that method, does that mean I am still fully protected and do not require backup? I've been on BC for almost a year by the way.
Avatar f tn Reliable and was easy to insert and remove. I never experienced anything bad with it! And hubby couldnt even feel it when we had sex !
Avatar m tn It sounds like your not pregnant and it could just be the EC pill messing with your period.
Avatar f tn Hello First of all, thank you so much for being there to answer our questions. I've been worried for quite some days now and can't seem to get peace of mind. I was hoping you could provide some guidance on whether I've been at risk for HIV transmission. The other day I went to the toilet at work to change the nuvaring (it's a birth control method that you insert in your vagina once a month and then remove 3 weeks later).
Avatar f tn t want to have to get a hole put in my arm to insert it. She said it was pretty painful for a little while.
7094011 tn?1405455886 Yeah I read 36 weeks is normal to start taking them, I just didn't know of anyone who had taken them before. I think your body will do what it needs to do when the time is right, so I don't really want to take them to "induce" labor, but more to be prepared. Plus like I said if it can help with keeping things all in one piece I'll take it!
Avatar n tn I was due to insert my new ring on Tuesday, but it may have gone in Wednesday the latest, FYI.
Avatar f tn I've had pills and nuvaring. I'm in the same boat as you. I forgot pills. I'm scared the shot will make me gain weight. I'm allergic to latex so can't use the patch. My doctor won't do IUDs for personal reasons which I agree with. My coworker got the implanon and she is allergic to it and itches like crazy and she said it really hurts. I think I'll end up going back on nuvaring. I didn't gain weight.
Avatar n tn U need to call our Ob-gyn and let them know and ask what do you need to do to get back on track!!! Especially if because if being on the pill you may not know your fertile cycle and could very well end up pregnant anytime!!! Good luck Hun.
Avatar f tn If your body unaffected by Nuvaring naturally had 28-day cycles so accurately that you could set your watch by it for years and years and this had all happened at a time when you had no influence of Nuvaring, then one could say you would be expected to ovulate on 6/6. But unfortunately, you were just off Nuvaring, and cycles can take a while to adjust when you are out of its influence.
Avatar f tn s similar to putting in a tampon, except you have to use your fingers, you fold it in half (squeeze 2 sides together) and insert it, it's not uncomfortable, and the guy can't feel it either. When you take it out you simply hook a finger around the edge and pull it out. Also if your not using them you should be using condoms because approx 1:3 women in the U.S. have an STD of some sort by the age of 21 I believe, my numbers may be off but I don't think so.
