Common Questions and Answers about Nuvaring side effects reviews

nuvaring

Avatar n tn I just looked up Nuvaring and it looks like chest pain and numbness on one side of the body are side effects. http://www.medhelp.org/drugs/NuvaRing/show/3399 I don't know if you would typically experience these symptoms so quickly though.
1238678 tn?1321857976 I am currently waiting on my second lap surgery for my Endo and my doctor has decided to start me on Lupron. I have a lot of worries about this medication but he assures me it will help with the pain. Can anyone that's been on Lupron let me know what you thought of it, and what side effects you experienced/how you dealt with them? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I took nuvaring and didn't experience side effects until about 7months in. I woke up with a streak of light in the vision of my right eye. I knew right away it was the ring. So I took it out immediately, the light went away after 3days. Then, 2wks after stopping the ring, more trouble arose. I woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible pain in the inner elbow of my left arm, and had pain and tingling and numbness in my left lower leg and hand as well.
1927233 tn?1326670387 ve tried in the past, so far I have no noticeable side effects, except I inserted the nuvaring on the first day of my period, over 2 weeks ago, and my period hasn't ended yet! Its very slowly transitioning from medium to light to very-light flow, with less normal discharge than I'm used to in the last day or two of my period. I also have constant cramps. Not enough to stop me from living but a constant pelvic ache.
Avatar f tn In women with inherited defects of lipid metabolism, there have been reports of significant elevations of plasma triglycerides during estrogen therapy. This has led to pancreatitis in some cases. I stopped using the Nuvaring immediately. Never during that whole time I was in the hospital or months afterwards did any doctor link the pancreatitis to the NuvaRing. I remember having bleeding in the hospital a week early even though the ring was still in.
11297526 tn?1417034765 Mild cramps for the past 5 days Headaches Fatigue According to the app I'm 3weeks. (If I am pregnant) I would like to hear your experiences is all. I'll be testing with an hpt soon.
304970 tn?1331425994 I have a mild latex allergy so I thought I would try something else since I was using protection when Jaxson was conceived, but I cant deal with all these crazy side effects.. I am going to call my Dr. tomorrow, in the meantime, I am going to try and stick out the nuva ring for this month, it may just be my body adjusting??
Avatar f tn I was on the pill for years and came off of it to get an IUD which I got taken out after 8 months and started the Nuvaring. Coming off of the pill I LOST weight and felt better than ever... almost complete opposite...
Avatar f tn I've been looking into an IUD, never had the patch personally (was afraid it'd fall off or something) but I know I wouldn't recommend the implanon/nexplanon implant or Nuvaring, the implant causes crazy side effects and Nuvaring doesn't stay in for anything!
468832 tn?1324348961 I heard pretty good things about that, my ex gf was also on nuvaring and had little to none side effects.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your response! Yeah, I don't want to get pregnant at all. But lately I've been having pains in my chest and in one of my legs. I don't know if it's related to the NuvaRing but some of the side-effects are scary. Like blood clots and heart attacks. I just don't want to be a victim to those. But it seems like all birth controls have some sort of risk involved in them. That's why I was looking at paragard since it's a hormone-free method.
Avatar n tn That's about how long I was on it too. I took mine out around June of last year and conceived in September, so it doesn't take long. That's the bonus of nuvaring, it's supposed to have little to no side effects when you take it out. I ended up miscarrying that conception at about 6 weeks, and haven't had luck yet since then, but at least I know I am indeed ovulating since I got pregnant once!
17435300 tn?1456682805 The main site says that common side effects are mood swings, including depression. I do have a history of being emotionally unstable. However, I have lived a very positive and encouraging lifestyle over the last 4 or 5 years. I'm really hoping that this is all caused from the ring, that way it's as easy as removing it but I don't want to use this as an excuse. Has anyone noticed relief and happier thoughts after removing the ring???
Avatar f tn I put the new ring in on May 22 and I feel like I may be having some increased side effects since then. The first few weeks I was on it I had a lot of cramping that felt like menstrual cramps, but for the past couple of weeks I've had a lot of nausea. I work at a grocery store and one day I had to run to the back because I thought I was going to throw up; I didn't and I was fine the next day.
Avatar f tn I just started NuvaRing on the 5th day after my period ended (December 30th). I know that you must use a back-up method for a minimum of 7 days. My fiance and I had unprotected sex on December 31st and again on January 1st. I read that it would be too soon for me to be ovulating (January 5th through the 10th is what I researched through an ovluation calendar).I have had cramping in my left side, but I believe that it is absolutely too early to have any signs of pregnancy.
Avatar n tn i had an endometriosis to my left and right ovary, can u please help me what is the best medicine to cure my endometriosis,my ob gave me ladogal, but it had so many side effects to me.what should i do?i want to have a child,is it possible for us to have a baby?
Avatar f tn Is there something that I can do to combat the yucky side effects? Also, what about surgery? I do have a Dr. at Mayo that suggests a consult with the Neurosurgeon. I'd appreciate any feedback or ideas... Thanks much!
Avatar f tn s no removing it to try to keep the side effects from continuing if you are unlucky and experience them. There is the implant, which gets implanted under your skin and diffuses the hormones to you all the time. Then, there's the patch, which you put on your skin (I'm not entirely certain if it's daily, weekly, or what, but your doctor would tell you.) so it diffuses the hormones as well.
3053649 tn?1356365017 I had the implanon implant (now nexplanon) and it made me gain 30 pounds and then I found out I was very much allergic to it. If the Nuva ring gave you any nasty side effects, don't go for the nexplanon, it's the same thing, different method. I have the paragard (copper) iud now and have had it two weeks. So far I'm really liking it. I've had several friends with it and they've loved it.
4971738 tn?1390565384 I took risperidone (risperdal) off and on for many years. It helped calm down my irritation, anger and psychotic symptoms--hallucinations and delusions. I started on a small dose 1 mg then 2mg. I climbed to 6 mg until my prolactin level went way past 1000, and my gynecologist went up in arms about it because it completely stopped my menstruation. It got lowered to 4 mg.
Avatar f tn Because it is absorbed vaginally and does not pass through the stomach, it has fewer side effects than birth control pills. There is typically not much weight gain--maybe 3-5 lbs of water weight + whatever the patient overeats and under-exercises. The only two complaints that I have had are that it falls out sometimes, and there can be some vaginal discharge associated with it. Hope this is helpful!
