You started Nuvaring, it can take a few days for your period to start especially when your on yo ur first mornth of Nuvaring. It takes 3 months for your body to regulate hormones. Now if you had unprotected sex within the first week of being on nuvaring (if you hadn't been on another birth control method before) then it's possible to get pregnant. I was on Nuvaring for 3 months and had no issues with it.

I've been on nuvaring for seven years. Recently my husband and I have decided to ttc. I took my nuvaring out when I was supposed to, had my normal period that I'm supposed to. I was wondering how long it would take for the hormones to get completely out of my system? We were thinking of trying by the end of the summer.

Hello, Yes you may need additional method of contraception if nuvaring is inserted on days 2-5 of your cycle. Did you start Nuvaring on days 2-5? If yes then you may consult a gynecologist before taking plan B.it is most effective if taken within 72 hours of intercourse. I hope it helps. Best wishes and regards!

Are you sure you were supposed to start Nuvaring on the first day of your period? I ask because Im on Nuvaring and was directed to put it in the Sunday AFTER the first day of my period. Then leave it in for 3 weeks and take it out on Sunday and leave it out until the following Sunday.

I had sex while i wasn’t on the NuvaRing but he said he pulled out. I put the NuvaRing in the week I usually get my period so i know I’d go a month without my period. i’m having cramps like period cramps now. Could that be signs of a pregnancy or is that okay?

I am using the nuvaring and have been since July. I took antibiotics about 6 weeks ago for a cough. I was suppose to start my period on Jan 9th. I have been on the nuvaring for three months now, yesterday at work while in the bathroom i noticed a small amount of brownish blood on the toilet paper . I normally have this type of blood at the beginning of my period. I experienced this while the nuvaring was still in, but thought it was just breakthrough bleeding. I went home on break and checked my calendar and realized i should have taken the nuvaring out the day before.

Hard to say. If you DO choose to use the NuvaRing though, just remember to use additional protection for as long as it specifies to. Usually it's a month you need to use protection while it become effective.

Theres always a possibility of being pregnant when having unprotected sex, even if you're on birth control. You're supposed to start Nuvaring during the first 5 days of your period for it to be effective immediately otherwise you aren't protected for around 7 days. The best thing to do is not stress and get a test done.

If the nuvaring was not remove until 4week after insertion, when removed should you get you cycle right way? And do you count that as your normal cycle?

Also, before I started the Nuvaring (11 days before and 16 days before) I had taken plan B. I used a day 1 start, but now that I am reading the Nuvaring website I probably should have used protection for the first 7 days, but did not because I believed that I was not switching from another birth control. What is my chance for pregnancy? Please please respond, I am under terrible stress.

2 weeks later (mid april) I got the go ahead to have sex and start my new Birth Control nuvaring. That night we had unprotected sex in the middle of the night and the next morning I put in my nuvaring for the first time. Since then I've been having crazy hot flashes, I'm more tired, and sometimes feel alittle sick. I've already had 2 children and it only took us one time to conceive them, so I'm very fertile i guess. I had weird side effects.on it so i switched to NUVARING except now after a month i took it out to start my period and im not starting. Its been six days. I put in a new ring tomorrow but without a period? Iv taken tests and there negative. Has anyone else gone through this with nuvaring?

I just started on Nuvaring & my doctor had instructed me to put it in on the first & take it out on the 26th of each month. While this makes it easier to remeber when to take in or out, will it change the effectiveness of the medicine? Has anyone ever heard of this method? Is anyone currently practicing this same method? Bottom line is this safe & effective to practice?

We are ttc and I was on nuvaring. I was supposed to start my period sunday and I still havent but have taken a pregnancy test and it says negative! Is it possible its a false negative or to early to test or is my body just late from stopping bc? Anyone have any advice?

I guess I should start at the beginning. I was on Nuvaring and was always regular (even when not on BC), I stopped Nuvaring Oct of 2015 due to having bad migraines, my gyn and I wanted to see if it was the cause. Still had them, so in February of 2016 I restarted it. I had a period the last week of Jan (was getting them every 2-3 weeks due to coming off of it). I had it again the week of Feb 2. I had protected sex Feb 5th and was still lightly bleeding then.

Is it the nuvaring??? If you didn't put it back in, it's probably from that.
