I was wondering if you can get pregnant while being on nuvaring and having sex the week that you are supposed to take it out?
I have a question my first time using the nuvaring and I took it out that 2nd week so onJune 29 I took my nuvaring out and never put it back in had sex the next day and we had sex 3 times that day ... I never put my nuvaring back in so I started having a bad migraine and my stomach started cramping on July 3 and July 4 as of today I spotted blood a little ..
I was due to take my nuvaring out on the 25th Nov 2011, so i did so. ((we have regular unprotected sex while on nuvaring)). My partner and I, same one, again had unprotected sex on the 27th Nov 2011 while nuvaring was NOT in place since i took it out on 25 Nov 2011. After the encounter, i peed like i normally do.
i started Nuvaring 3 weeks ago yesterday when i was supposed to ive had sex w/o protection quite a few times since. I was supposed to start my period yesterday Im NEVER late early if anything I took a pregnancy test last night and it came back negative. Is it possible that I am pregnant and that its just not showing up positive yet?
my girlfriend was supposed to put in her new nuvaring on sunday night but was a day late and didn't put it in till monday. it says on the directions if this happens you should use backup protection for 7 days. we didn't wait 7 days and had unprotected sex on friday night (day 9 of cycle) and no withdrawal method was used. she refused to take plan b because she claimed she couldn't get pregnant. im freaking out now....what are the chances she got pregnant?
The cramps could be because of the Nuvaring. Remember that you're putting a foreign object in to your body so your body could react to that by cramping. Since it's so close to your period the cramps might be because you're getting ready to start.
I recommend you see your gynecologist to tell him/her what happened. They might want to do a blood test to see if you're pregnant. Blood tests can detect very early pregnancies.
Birth control has never been 100% effective for me, I was using the Nuvaring when I got pregnant. Anything is possible. Maybe blood work would be a good way to test. Give it a few more days maybe it's just late this time!

If you are apprehensive regarding the status of pregnancy then you can test for it., Most home pregnancy tests that check urine beta-HCG are sensitive to 20-25 mIU/ml of HCG. The test can be positive anywhere from about 2-3 days prior to a missed menses to 4-5 days after, but usually it should be done 7-10 days past your missed period.
Otherwise you can get a serum HCG also done which is more specific than urine pregnancy test.
I was on the NuvaRing for 3 months straight and used it to skip my cycle. After the 3rd or 4th week I would take it out & put in a new ring. While doing this I still bled either light or really heavy. I stopped using the NuvaRing the week before Thanksgiving. My husband & I started trying to make a baby soon after taking the ring out. I have not had a cycle since i’ve taken the NuvaRing out and it’s going on a month now.
i miscarried at 8 weeks with blighted ovum and after that devestation i used nuvaring again and this time faithfully.......i took out my nuvaring and didnt think much of it until the next day when i started throwing up everywhere! i bought a test for the hell of it and it said PREGNANT! i was in complete shock because i had been on the nuvaring for a while! i used at end of JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER and found out i was pregnant in october!!!
I am using the nuvaring and have been since July. I took antibiotics about 6 weeks ago for a cough. I was suppose to start my period on Jan 9th. I started on the 4th but it was only spotting that day then nothing since. I've been having alot of pregnancy symptoms and need some advice. Has this happened to anyone else?
I have not had my liver enzymes tested since then, but I went on an unprescribed nuvaring because I did not want my parents to know that I was sexually active. I then discovered that I should not have taken the nuvaring because of a potential active liver disease. My question is, should I take it out? It has been in for a little over a week and I had a day 1 start. Also, if I do take it out, will it offer protection up to this point? I have been having unprotected sex.
I started the Nuvaring right after a m/c. Three weeks and 3 days later wondering when my period will start. Woke this morning thinking maybe I am pregnant. I had been having that feeling but thought it was just 'residual' thoughts of the recent pregnancy. I took a pregnancy test...positive. But less than 2 hours later I'm bleeding. So I had my birth control that was placed in my arm 2 years ago removed 2 weeks ago today. I was placed on the nuvaring in which I inserted the day I had my other birth control removed. I had unprotected sex with my husband three days after insertion. I am cramping and having breast tenderness. Is there a chance of pregnancy? Do you know if anyone that has gotten pregnant while switching over to the nuvaring?
I was on the Nuvaring and took it out around the 23rd of April and had my period like normal. We have had sex every night since then (because I wasn't sure if my ovulation would be normal) and two night ago I started spotting, then yesterday morning the blood flow was heavier, and then stopped and again this morning I started bleeding heavy. I'm having all the pregnancy symptoms (I have a 2 year old so I know how it goes) but all the home tests I take are negative.
