The cramps could be because of the Nuvaring. Remember that you're putting a foreign object in to your body so your body could react to that by cramping. Since it's so close to your period the cramps might be because you're getting ready to start.
I recommend you see your gynecologist to tell him/her what happened. They might want to do a blood test to see if you're pregnant. Blood tests can detect very early pregnancies.
Hi. It's June 2nd and I've been using NuvaRing since March 6th. I had a period on it the first month, skipped my period the second month, and had a period last month. I put the new ring in on May 22 and I feel like I may be having some increased side effects since then. The first few weeks I was on it I had a lot of cramping that felt like menstrual cramps, but for the past couple of weeks I've had a lot of nausea.
I started spotting on day 26 and started having severe cramps. I inserted the new ring on day 28 and got to where the cramps were unbearable and I was bleeding more. I removed the ring and started flowing heavy so I tried to insert a tampon but it wouldn't go in. Never had that problem before while flowing heavy like I was. Today is day 34 (5 days after removing the nuvaring) and am still flowing heavy and am finally able to use a tampon.
Hi Lisa, OK have just done a little reaserch, and yes Nuvaring could be the reason for your ongoing cramps or cramping, if you google Nuvaring bad cramping 2 years, you will find your not the only one, and if you go down somebody is doing a survey on Nuvaring, so you can add to it if you fill that way.

Ive been on the NuvaRing since my 6 week check up(about 20 months). Well this is the second time ive taken my ring out on time and i have a brown period with decent sized clots. Im having normal cramps and back pain but there is very little red blood. is this normal?
Well I started the Nuvaring on the 17th of February... the first day of my period which is what the doctor told me to do. Its now the 8th of March and Im still bleeding. Very lightly, but its enough to have me wear a liner every single day. Last night I woke up feeling extremely sick. Today, this morning, I started vomiting. Could I be pregnant? Is there a chance? Its so confusing because there have been so many women who have gotten pregnant while using a birth control contraceptive.

Well , I started the Nuvaring as soon as my period came on last Wednesday , as I was told by my doctor to do so . And it made my period light , but made me cramp for 4 days straight . So I took it out on the fourth day because I thought the cramps would stop . On the 5th day , my period went off as it should ; but came back on later that night . It was weird because it was brown at first . But the next day it was bright red and heavy and has been that way since .
about 2 months after receiving my negative tests from the doctor I started a new birth control...Nuvaring. I kept the ring in for 1 month and my symptoms subsided but when my period came my bleeding was light and I had the worst cramps I have ever had in my life. I passed what I at first thought was a blood clott, but when i looked closer I realized it was not bloody. It was a moderate sized piece of skin about the size of a computer mouse and shaped like a pear.
ve been bleeding since May 7th, and it is now May 19th and i have no idea what is going on. I was on NuvaRing birth control and took it out when i went to go see my OB. She told me to put it back in that night and that i wouldn't have a period that month. That was last month. Any types that are great ? I have bad cramps, and heavy bleeding but my periods are pretty regular and on time. And are their any birth controls that won't make you gain weight ?!?!?!?!!?
I had my IUD removed after 3 years a few months ago. I then started on the nuvaring. I was 2 days early taking it out for my week break in the second month. It ended up being out for 10 days I had intercourse 4 times in that period of time. I then had sex 3 times during the next which ( which apparently youre suppose to wait 7 days ) then about 13 days after my period ended. I had sex and the ring was out for a little over three hours. a few days later I had sex again.
i started Nuvaring 3 weeks ago yesterday when i was supposed to ive had sex w/o protection quite a few times since. I was supposed to start my period yesterday Im NEVER late early if anything I took a pregnancy test last night and it came back negative. Is it possible that I am pregnant and that its just not showing up positive yet?
I had a miscarriage and for a month after, I had severe cramps. Then one day, I was going pee and felt this weird sensation and heard a big plop. I looked in the toilet and there was something in there the size of my fist and it was so dark red that it was almost black. When I picked it out of the toilet to look at it, I noticed that it was really hard. Almost like liver in a way, but darker but about the same consistency.

I had unprotected sex today. I recently started on Nuvaring and was told I needed 7 days for it to become effective. Today is the 7th day. Should I take a Plan B just in case?
I have been on the NuvaRing for over 5 years and for the most part I have enjoyed it; the light periods, the ease, the minor cramps and steady and minimal mood swings. However, I have been having issues with bleeding during sex for the past 2 years on and off. I was diagnosed with HPV at least 5 years ago and occasionally have abnormal pap smears but for the most part have no pain or issues with it and have been with the same partner for 3.5 years.
