I know that the ring can cause women to completely skip their periods from time to time too...but, this dark brown period was alarming! Is dark brown discharge a sign of pregnancy? Like, does it meant that your period is trying to stop?

The common effects seen are bleeding between periods and/or brown discharge between periods and long standing brown vaginal discharge. My last period was on January 10th and after that I've been sexually active w/o protection. I have noticed pinkish and brown discharge. This has been going on for about a week now and no period yet. I'm on the NuvaRing and when my period is on its way out i get that same creamy brown/tan tinted discharge. While on the nuvaring i notice that i have more of a discharge then I normally would. Also I have a tendancy to get yeast infections now because of it so watchout for that. But al i can say is when you go to the restroom make sure to wipe well, maybe get some of those Summer Eve feminine wipes (they help with odor) Otherwise i'd say Tampons help withthe discharge or use pads.

As far as studies prove, A BROWN Color is just a discharge, if the brown is very dark, and has a tint to red, then i guess its a period.... however if the brown is just brown and no tint of red then its just a discharge, many woman tend to have discharges every so often, some times in variuos colors such as brown. If you continue to see this discharge for another 3-4 days, ring a doctor and ask him for a quik check up!

are you just starting it? did you wake up and see brown discharge and its not even close to your period? any brown discharge is normal. its normal before your period and after your period. sometimes 2-3 days of it.

June 24th I had light brown discharge only lasting during the evening. June 27th I started getting back pain which usually comes before my period June 28th (I think should have been CD1) more back pain and my breasts hurt (normal) but no bleeding June 29th I started having a little brown discharge only showing when I wiped. I know nothing about the NuvaRing but I did have Chryo years ago. I had a clear discharge for about a week which I was told to expect and then it went away. I seem to recall feeling a bit dryer than normal but I never had a problem with excessive discharge. You seem to have been very used to it and now it is completely gone. Hopefully the NuvaRing will work to restoring you to a normal feeling again. But I have to say, and maybe I am wrong, but that sounds like a pretty odd reason to have Cyro.

I have been on NuvaRing for about one and a half months now. I use it excactly as directed. I keep it in the fridge before I use it, I insert it and leave it in for three weeks and take it out for exactly seven days before inserting a new one. I've been on NuvaRing since May? I just stopped taking it because the excess discharge is driving me crazy and I hate how it dries up in my underwear. And I was only taking BC for my periods and cramps during puberty. Glad I'm not the only one. But for those who have blood it brown, that's not normal. My discharge was white like it should be. Its too bad it does that otherwise I would have stayed on it. I loved it and had no real negative side effects, just the one inconvenient one.

5 2010 and it lasted about 7 days and when it ended i had this foul smelling brown discharge that kinda looks like poop i am still having this discharge and its now sep.15 it wont go away help what could it be?

on the 5th i had major craps which i normally never get and i got a blood clot and brown discharge all very little and nothing, couple hours a little pink next day some brown and red with a blood clot then gone. and all cramping was gone. I have been on the nuva ring for about 5 months now and I am suppose to take it out on Sunday (4 days away). I have already started to have some brown discharge and it is only Wednesday. Normally I will start my period the Wednesday after I take my ring out. Has anyone else had this happen to them? It just makes me nervous.

I'm on nuvaring and have been for a few years. I took my last ring out on April 3rd, got my period on the 5th, but jumped the gun and put my new ring in on the 8th (I was flying out of the country for a week). My period went to mild spotting on the 9th and stopped by the 10th. On the 18th I started having a discharge that turned quite heavy and has been heavily consistent since. It's not red, it's brownish-red in colour, sometimes dark brown. I have been feeling pretty crampy as well.

So then, I had cranps and pinkish discharge on 4/1, followed by 2 days of very light brown spotting, which may have been implantation bleeding but not sure. On 4/3, I took a blood test and my HCG levels were only 2 (negative I assume). On 4/4, I started to bleed.

Hello, All my issues began when I started using NuvaRing for Birth Control which was in May this year. A month later (June) right after my period, I developed a yeast infection or so thats what I thought. I went to the Dr and was prescribed medication she did not do a swab test bc the month that I got on the NuvaRing I had her check for any stds or any other type of infection and all the tests came back negative.

But thats what made me think about it, then I read on the internet that brown discharge could be a sign of early pregnancy. So that reallllllly creeped me out. Not that I dont ever want to have another kid I was just thinking it would be a couple more years, and maybe that still is the case. But I am scheduled to see my OBGYN as a check up next week so I will find out then for sure.

I startde on my 1st day of LMP (May 2nd) and since then have been having brown discharge everyday....not a lot but spotting...the past 2 days it's been heavy, but still brown.
