So when my boyfriend and I have sex it hurts. At first it hurt just in certian positions, now it hurts all the time. It's a burning/stinging sort of hurt and I was wondering if the NuvaRing caused a rash in my vagina. I've been using the NuvaRing for about 8 months now so I don't know why I'd be having a reaction to it now..
YES! It can cause diabetes! It is listed as glucose intolerance in the side effects. I went though 8 months of #@!& on nuvaring. I went to the doc because I wad exhausted all of the time, fuzzy brained, and starting to loose my hair. When I asked if it could be the birth control, my question was dismissed. They tried to put me on all of this medication for slightly elevated blood sugar. I refused. I decided to go off the nuvaring, which I was on only for acne.
I've been looking into an IUD, never had the patch personally (was afraid it'd fall off or something) but I know I wouldn't recommend the implanon/nexplanon implant or Nuvaring, the implant causes crazy side effects and Nuvaring doesn't stay in for anything!
I am also allergic to latex and tried the NuvaRing and had quite a severe latex allergic reaction to it. I ripped my Gyno a new one after that happened. I understand that it's technically latex-free, but it contains the same main ingredient as latex (which is what caused the reaction) and I feel that needs to be mentioned on the box at least.
I had sex fathers day and the 29th and the condom broke but i hav the nuva ring and i got my period but its lasts 3-4 days well i put nuvaring back in on july 5th then had unprotected sex (pull out) on the 7th of july i feel different always hungry n and expect period in a wk wen can i test or how do i kno for sure if test is negative could it be from nuvaring because with my 2yo i had missed period n tested negative
3 months ago I switched to Nuvaring from the pill. Hubby and I were going to wait until the spring to start ttc.
My dr said I could leave my ring in for 4 weeks to avoid my period so technically I haven't had my period since October 9. I have exactly 1 week until I can either take it out for my period or leave it in to avoid it.
I have been bloated and hungry all the time. Yesterday I was exhausted after shopping for 2 hours and napped when I woke up I was so nauseous.

I am a 29 year old female - and about 7 months ago I stopped using Nuvaring. I already had a bit of adult acne and some weight gain before I stopped, but after I stopped the acne went a little crazy - on the lower half of my face and my neck. It has also been a bit over 6 months since I've had a period, which is beginning to freak me out.
My periods have been very heavy with the past one lasting two weeks with large tissue discharge. It just ended Sunday after beginning one week before removing Nuvaring and only ending once Nuvaring was reinserted. It is so irregular that I could bleed any time of the month at any intensity for any period of time. This past one was so bad that I had to sleep with a heating pad nightly. What could this mean?
I have extremely sensitive skin, and thought it might have been just a rash. But yesterday night, after I got home from work, I noticed that it had become very sore in my anal and vaginal areas. I did a check and found a few lumps surrounding te area. I asked my mom for advice, and due to my medical history with anal fissures, she said that it was probably hemorrhoids. So I put some hemorrhoid cream on them and went to sleep.
I just started the nuvaring again after being off birth control for 3 years or so. I never had an issue with it before but I am having intense feelings of anxiety.
i miscarried at 8 weeks with blighted ovum and after that devestation i used nuvaring again and this time faithfully.......i took out my nuvaring and didnt think much of it until the next day when i started throwing up everywhere! i bought a test for the hell of it and it said PREGNANT! i was in complete shock because i had been on the nuvaring for a while! i used at end of JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER and found out i was pregnant in october!!!
About 6 months ago out of nowhere, I went to take my nuvaring out and noticed some swelling inside my vagina. At first I thought it was a lump, so I made a doctors appointment right away. My usual doctor wasn’t available but the doctor I did see checked me out and told me she found nothing unusual, and that I may just have been feeling some tissue irritation caused by the nuvaring. I took it out for my usual period and at the end of the week the swelling seemed to go down.
The cramps could be because of the Nuvaring. Remember that you're putting a foreign object in to your body so your body could react to that by cramping. Since it's so close to your period the cramps might be because you're getting ready to start.
I recommend you see your gynecologist to tell him/her what happened. They might want to do a blood test to see if you're pregnant. Blood tests can detect very early pregnancies.
I was on the NuvaRing for 3 months straight and used it to skip my cycle. After the 3rd or 4th week I would take it out & put in a new ring. While doing this I still bled either light or really heavy. I stopped using the NuvaRing the week before Thanksgiving. My husband & I started trying to make a baby soon after taking the ring out. I have not had a cycle since i’ve taken the NuvaRing out and it’s going on a month now.
I'm Not sure, but I don't trust that thing at ALL. I used mine exactly the way I was suppose to and I am now 24 weeks pregnant. I also have two friends that are now pregnant also after using NuvaRing.
